Cute new coffee spot in Campbell! Lookout Coffee is located in the small plaza next to Uncle John's Pancake House, and both places were busy at 10:30am on a Sunday. I would come back to try their other coffee options. Some staff were wearing masks despite the mandate being lifted. They only had indoor seating available from what I could see. Parking will be the most difficult part about coming here, since street parking spots are limited, and the lots are also on the smaller side (and packed with brunch customers on a Sunday). read more

I am incredibly disappointed by the lady who took my order, Katie. She did not greet us. When I asked a question about the coffee, she was rude & unhelpful. The quality of both the cold brew and the iced coffee tasted old & stale. I have never been so disappointed in trying a new spot. I'm so happy that there's a new cafe in Campbell! I loved the vibe of this place. It's super cute and modern looking! I came in around noon on a Saturday and the place was fairly full. All of the tables were in use and most of the chairs were taken. Some people were there working by themselves while others were with friends chatting. The staff is also super friendly and nice. I like trying different specialty coffees, and a Bay Area coffee shop using a specialty roast from the other side of the country (Passenger in Lancaster, PA) intrigued me. Ample parking is available on a weekday mid-morning, with street parking on both Rincon and Winchester, and a large parking lot behind the building. The bike parking is not obvious -- after hunting around I found a bike rack towards the center of the parking lot. The shop itself is open, bright, and welcoming, though they lose a star from dirty tables in a well-staffed store with light traffic. The barista who took my order was pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. He was obviously very familiar with Passenger's roasts, and accurately described the flavor notes for my order. Passenger tastes and feels bit too light and tea-like for my tastes, but otherwise, it's a decent coffee. Lookout's barista provides good service and expert pulls. Just wipe the crumbs and spills from tables on occasion and I'm happy to give them five stars. read more

As a certified coffee connoisseur, I'm always on the lookout for a great cup of coffee. I must say that "Lookout Coffee" did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm. The service is very friendly with baristas eagerly ready to serve. I enjoyed the soft music in the background which added a quaint charm to the atmosphere. I ordered a cappuccino and it was perfectly brewed and served at the proper temperature. The coffee beans were roasted to perfection and served with a friendly smile by a very nice barista. The pastry section were beautifully displayed and very fresh. I enjoyed my cappuccino with a delicious biscotti on the side with just a hint of coconut. Delicious. Lookout Coffee popped up on my feed as a new coffee shop in the area where I work. I'm always up for trying new spots, so I made a point to grab breakfast and coffee at Lookout Coffee on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. The space was cute and spacious. I can appreciate the minimalist decor. Customer service was great. One of the servers helped me out with food items. I was in the mood for something savory and saw that they had a veggie pastry and a few empanadas. He further described the type of fillings in the empanadas: mushroom, swiss chard, and sweet peppers. I went with the mushroom and swiss chard per his recommendation, and they did not disappoint! The empanadas were heated up for me, and the doughs from both were so buttery and flaky. I tried the espresso tonic. Espresso tonics have been pretty trendy lately, so I gave it a go. It was definitely interesting and worth trying at least once. Unsure of where they get their pastries from, and they don't stand out, but it's a nice option if you're hungry or hankering for a snack. Their coffee is solid. I get the brown sugar latte and its consistently great quality and taste. The reason I'm docking down is the interior and exterior has so much potential to be better. In addition, their kitchen and drink making areas could use some meticulous deep cleaning and overall organization (opened coffee bean bags not properly put away, things are not straightened and left out, etc.). I didn't feel entirely comfortable consuming their drinks seeing how poorly they maintain inside and outside the register. Their main sitting area is comfortably large with very high ceilings--there's lot of opportunities to play around with the open space here. Lastly, the area where you put away drinks was a mess--unfortunately reminded me of college dining hall cafeteria messes where all the students throw in their finished dishes. They also make it hot or iced and have a variety of milks and heavy cream. There are several places to sit and chat or read and work and I have always had friendly service. Service was pretty good, pastries were good, tea was tasty but sooo hot. Overall this is a brand-new business, and the ambiance so far seems pretty nice! The cafe is super spacious and relaxing inside, with lots of tables and seating options to work or chat at. I walked in around 8 am, so it was still pretty quiet. The employee working at the register was super friendly and helped explain a lot of the food/tea options. In terms of pastries, they have your standard selection of croissants, morning buns, and also a goat cheese pretzel and empanadas, which I thought was cool. They can toast your pastries, too! They have a large selection of teas, which is refreshing to see when most places only have 3 or 4 different options. I ordered the Mi Lan Xiang, which was a light but sweet oolong. They do leave the tea bag in your to-go cups, so watch out if you don't like super-steeped tea! I do wish their signage were a bit more user friendly. They write their hours as Thursday - Tuesday, 7-2, closed Wednesdays, which at first glance makes it seem like they're only open Tuesdays and Thursdays. They also don't have labels for their pastries, meaning you end up striking a conversation about their selection, which some people may like, but others might find a barrier to ordering. Much of their tea is listed at market price, but the market prices aren't labeled anywhere, either. Either way, this place seems pretty nice, and I'm sure I'll have to come back and try more of their teas in the future. read more

I took a drive with a coworker to run some errands and he knows the San Jose area very well and took us here for a midday pick me up.
