The charm is gone, the staff don't seem as happy, the prices continue to skyrocket despite quality retreating. The only food option is buffet, and there are no safety protocols or cleanliness at all. Many times I have witnessed people grabbing food with their bare hands in front of management with nothing done about it. This is not good at all considering the pandemic we are currently facing. There have been multiple cases of norovirus that management has covered up, putting further guests at risk. The cabins have amazing views, but you'd be better off camping near a lake. It's essentially the same experience with the filth, rodents and dead bugs all over the place. The beds are extremely old and uncomfortable. They are all twins so good luck getting cozy with anyone. There are a lot better options.

The only reason I'm giving the location 1 star is because of all the help provided by the housekeeping manager in regards to helping find someplace to stay BECAUSE MY PREPAID ROOM WAS SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE although I talked to someone from the hotel earlier in the day to confirm my booking prior to my 3.5 hour drive. My room was in the main inn, there are 5 rooms and parking for only 3 cars unfortunately with the motorhome that took up the majority of the small parking lot. In the days of covid this bed and breakfast has no breakfast. Additionally there is no staff and self check in consists of the room door being left open with the room key in the room (allegedly, unfortunately I was not able to experience this). Upon arrival I walked my things up to the third floor which is where my room was, tried the door and it's locked. Knocked on the door and there was no answer. Called the phone number that I had for the hotel and it went to voice mail. No room, nobody to ask about it. A couple happened to be heading out for dinner so I asked them if there was any phone numbers in their room or similar in the event that anything happened and they needed to contact management. Thank goodness there was a number to call. I was able to get in touch with the head of housekeeping. She was super nice and came to the inn to see what was going on. This is when I learned that that there was someone already in my room. This inn was full so out of luck there. They have a second property, The Will's Inn about 4 miles down the road where they were able to put me. I'll review that place separately. It was shared with me that I would receive a full refund for my room, as well as a gift certificate to be used at a later time. Neither of these things happened. Stay away from this place.

The cold and general public have done a little number on them but the staff do their best of patch the holes up. Easy to run into the third floor of the lodge during the day for warmup breaks. Solid blues and black diamonds for the intermediate skiiers and plenty of greens for beginners. Love the bubbled in 6 person lift for the windy days. I just stayed 4 nights at the campground- and I feel it's a great choice for the area…read more What I needed was a basically a base camp where I could have a nice tent camping space that would be used mostly for sleeping (vs. staying at the campground for relaxing, using the river, cooking, etc). My space, #57, was very large for tent camping, had a picnic table and fire pit (which I didn't use). There was plenty of flat, root-free space for me to pitch the tent. I put my tent on flat, hard-packed sand...which is fine but I would recommend a mat or towel for the tent entry way to wipe your feet and leave your shoes on. I used the shower daily. The shower I used was clean, plenty of hot water, good water pressure...and free! The bathroom was bare bones but clean and well maintained. The campground was busy but I didn't feel it was rowdy and certainly wasn't loud. The quiet hours were observed when I was there. But for me, Bearcamp River Campground is about its owners. They take great care of the campground and great care of the people who stay there. Just one example, I was (very) late for my Wed. night check in. I called and was told the parking gate pass would be waiting for me and it would be no problem at all to be late...just make myself at home. I really appreciate their accommodating me. Overall, 5 stars. It's it a great setting, a well maintained facility, run by nice people who genuinely want you to have a good time and will do anything to make sure you do.
