Found this place by accident and it truly is a hidden gem. The food was fresh and fabulous, the service friendly and fast and the casual kick back by the lake atmosphere perfect! We were supposed to go to the Lobster Bake at Sunday River but it was sold out, so we happened upon this place for our seafood cravings. I always say things happen for a reason! No way we would have enjoyed anything better. For dessert at the ice cream window outside, Dough Pillows! Little puffs of goodness covered in powdered sugar with hot fudge to dip them in! We loved this place so much that we ate there twice while staying in the local area. I was a little skeptical of the upstair patio as it seemed a bit wobbly for use, but it didn't fall. We ate inside the second time. All the servers we encountered were friendly and efficient. If you like lobster, the blobsters are where it's at. I could eat those every day of my life. The seafood stew was great - super thick. I really enjoyed the berry salad: I had it once with lobster and once with grilled salmon. The lemon vinaigrette is what makes it top notch. My husband really enjoyed the captain's platter and the chef salad. You don't have to be a boater to come here, though there's not a lot of parking. Really, really loved this place. read more

This place was a hole in the wall gem! I loved it. We stopped here after seeing a sign after we went disc golfing in Stoneham, Me. Lovely views!! We happened to go the last weekend they were open so they had a lot of drink specials and a lot of buy one get one 50% off food specials. All the food was delicious!!! The wings had plenty of sauce on them and the flavor was good ( it was a sweet Thai chili sauce flavor). My steak and cheese was filling. And they gave you plenty of fries. My boyfriend got the lobster roll and he said it was really good. He was surprised with the amount of lobster was in it as he's used to only half of that amount. The sangria was also very delicious. The Yelpers (all 3) liked this place, and we wanted to try a new local spot. Made a reservation for the deck at 7 pm and sadly the only seats available were a smaller benched picnic table on the lower deck, no worries, we moved inside to a two seat table. Our server, Lexi, quickly took our drink orders. She had water with a lime and I had an Arnold Palmer. Drinks were good. We then moved on to ordering apps, she had the Lobster Stew (Bisque really) and I had the Clam Chowder. We also ordered the Blobsters. The Blobsters were WICKED good! The cups of Lobster Stew and Clam Chowder tasted good, but were not HOT temperature wise....just warm enough. Would have been better HOT. On to the main course. She had the Shrimp Pasta Primavera and I had the Fish Tacos. I also added some Onion Rings. After all that app food, we were getting a bit full, the Onion Rings weren't good on first delivery....but the second batch were wicked hot and tasty. The Fish Tacos were pretty good, except they were fried and not blackened as the menu mentioned. We did take home what could be reheated...so we'll try that too. On to the "unusual". They used all take out dishes for everything....kinda weird. Definitely a great local spot for a beer and something to eat. Very "divey" in a good way. If you like boats, it is next to Kezar Lake Marina and if you're on the lake in your boat, you can pull in and dock to eat. Limited spots for that of course. On to the last but best part. Our server Lexi was awesome! She constantly checked on us and made sure we had what we needed and fixed issues (Onion Rings) that came up. This should be a 3 star review, Lexi added a star. We came from North Carolina looking for a great lobster roll and much to our delight we found it at Loon's Nest Restaurant. My husband sighed with content as he enjoyed his lobster roll (overflowing with fresh lobster) and I loved my Cobb salad with lobster. We sat outside and it was fun watching the boats coming in and out of the marina. Many kudos to Jennifer for her warm welcome, profession service and great attitude. She was the "icing on the cake" for a wonderful lunch. read more

hello my fam and i visited this restaurant and i was quite upset and surprised that all the people raved about this place i can tell you my experience. first i ordered the FRESH clam chowder soup. very small portioned, and was very unsatisfied with the soup. first, the clam chowder tasted sandy which means they didn't clean the clams prior to serving which is gross. personally, i'd prefer walmart clam chowder cans over this spot any day of the week! when i tried to take it back the server got all upset. i'm not sure but i'm just sharing my experience with the world. thank you read more

Have been for brunch and gotten take out pizza several times. It's a very casual, unpretentious place serving consistently very good food. We personally haven't tried much beyond the pizza and brunch, but are locals and have heard many favorable assessments from others about their food in general. And it's a place where you can enjoy dining al fresco on Kezar Lake, an added bonus. Try it! read more

The ease of this place in true Maine form is as it should be! We have never had a bad meal here or in the case of today, just grabbing an ice cream cone because of a hot day on the lake. It is laid back, the staff is so nice and the food (ice cream) is wonderful. They serve Gifford's ice cream and the crew let us eat it in the air conditioned dining room so we wouldn't get heat stoke! read more

Horrible food ! You would think that a restaurant that has a menu that is more than half just seafood would have the decency to serve "FRESH" seafood not FROZEN. And don't get me started on the paper plates and plastic silverware. The only view they have of the lake is a small spot where they were loading/unloading boats, the "scenic lake view" is non-existent. I've been to many restaurants, and I have to say this one by far is the worst. Please save your money. I did leave a tip for the waitress because I felt terrible for her, and she did do a good job. read more

Awful, absolutely awful! The waitress was nice but Jesus the food was deplorable. The food literally came in the microwave containers they came out of. Mine was super overcooked as dry as a turkey dinner and my girlfriends literally was still a little frozen. After this meal I am considering opening a restaurant in my basement serving stuff out of the freezer section. At least my restaurant won't have Plastic "Silverware" At least the Lean cuisine I serve isn't gonna cost not 60 bucks and make me wait like 15 minutes to take my card For the love of Christ don't go here. Don't let the outside stop you from enjoying this gem located on the water in the Narrows of Kezar Lake. A nice selection of local craft brews. Sit outside by the lake (or inside if you so desire). Watch the boats and loons pass by while being served great eats by super friendly staff. Locals and tourists equally welcome. read more

THE LOBSTAH CHRONICLES Day 3, Part 1 O.K. neither of us had lobster at this restaurant but the day is young! This is a local place at the Lake Kezar Marina with indoor and outdoor dining. It's strictly seasonal so when we came for lunch (and we've eaten here many times before) only the take-out window was open. Nevertheless, we were going to eat here before getting our rental boat. Both of us had haddock sandwiches with cole slaw and blueberry (!) sodas. The fish was lightly fried on the outside and flaky on the inside...perfectly cooked. I enjoyed eating it without the bun. Our companion at lunch ordered a lobster sandwich which also came open faced and looked wonderful. I could see the whole pieces of lobster meat which came directly out of the claws. Past visits here have included complete lobster meals with potato, slaw and corn. For a little place which serves locals and boaters, this is a good place to stop. read more

Visiting the beautiful state of Maine this August. We saw this eatery on Yelp. The food was very satisfying. Their onion rings are delish. For a small place they have a decent selection of wines. Indoor/outdoor eating I recommend eating by the water. Service was super fast and friendly. Nothing fancy just good yummy eats here. Not a lot of vegetarian selections. read more
