Absolutely insane for "less ice", more than half the cup!
    Lily T.

A little hidden spot tucked in the corner of pershing square. Drink tasted ok, couldn't really taste the pandan though .. nothing too special but I do applaud the creativity of making it "pina colada" style. However, this is absolutely insane for "less ice", I wonder what normal ice is ... the whole cup ??

I have been here twice in the past week LOL because I had such a great time the first time I came. This is probably the most legit boba/milk tea place in DTLA. I feel like it's on the same level as something like Sunright. The place is located across the street from Pershing Square and there are a few street parking spots right in front of the shop. The service is quick so I imagine you wouldn't need to park for too long if you're coming for this, but tbh I don't think I would drive from far away for this. If I was in the area, it's definitely a convenient spot to walk too but just a bit tough with finding a parking spot if it's busy, since it's literally located right in the center of DTLA. The vibes of the shop are really cute and there are a lot of great places to study with free wifi as well! They also have games and sell some small plushies on the side too :) I've tried three of their drinks so far and I am absolutely in love with their Banana Foster Milk, which is made with a house-made banana paste with a splash of rum, also with pandan, coconut, and cinnamon. To be honest, it's a little bit on the sweeter side so I would recommend getting quarter sweetness for this drink specifically. I also tried the Hazel Eyes drink which is made of "organic Hazelnut Milk Snow." Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this drink. I just didn't like it. It felt like I was drinking diluted brown sugar milk tea. Also tried one of the typical fresh pressed teas, which are solid. Nothing too special but not bad. I also love that switching to oat or almond milk does not have an additional cost! wow!! very inclusive :) They currently have a promo going on during the winter season for 15% off hot drinks! I personally got all iced drinks but I have a feeling the Banana Foster drink as a hot drink may be pretty good, so I will be back!

The place had some cute decor. I originally ordered a mango cheese foam boba drink, but it just tasted salty. I asked Jeff, the cashier/barista if he could add more sweetness but it became overpowering. He said that specific drink is an acquired taste and offered to make me another drink and recommended the banana foster milk. It tasted refreshing (made with banana paste, pandan, cinnamon, and coconut) and delicious. Amazing customer service. Unique flavor options, but what exceeded expectations was Jeff's customer service; I recommend this place if your drink is made by Jeff! He will ensure you have a great drink and experience. That man is a great human being and is going places.

Ambiance: it's a cozy tea place located in downtown, spacious inside, with a small focus room good for calls if you work here Service: very friendly and efficient, you can either place the order with cashier or use two touch panels near the entrance Drink: standard menu for tea and coffee Strawberry Matcha Latte - *** Iced Matcha Latte w/ House-made Strawberry Compote, overall taste was okay and you can customize few options, however, quarter sugar still tasted very sweet, and less ice ended up with too much ice Price: decent quality, slightly overpriced but understandable for this downtown location, expect $7+ for a small sized drink plus any add-ons

Ordered coffees and all of them were really good! I'm not an avid coffee drinker, but the drinks were unique and the coconut one was especially delish. Inside is super spacious, although parking is only street parking (if you're lucky). Would come again just for their coffee.

The Original Fifty50 is the way to go. I have it with oat milk and I think it was Brulé cream. The first time I had it was at their Long Beach location. Had never tasted anything so delicious. But I live in San Gabriel so it's a bit of a drive. Well, this weekend we were on our way to Little Tokyo and remembered that they opened one in downtown L.A. So we made a pitstop. It's a small space but they got the job done. We didn't see any close parking so my husband ended up circling the block. So worth it. The young woman behind the counter was very sweet and helpful. How can you go wrong with a combo of the best tea and the best coffee? And their Boba is so soft and delicious. There's none that compare. We both crave this drink now. And it gave us the energy to enjoy hours of fun in Little Tokyo. I cannot wait to go back. I only wish we had one in our area I would be there every single day. We love you Loose Leaf Boba Co. The best Boba drinks in all of California hands-down. Get the Original Fifty50! You will thank me.

The place is so beautiful. Love how many drink options there is and how authentic the drinks taste. They have different foam cream top flavor options :) try the crème brûlée!! Ordered my drinks through Door dash during happy hour and they arrived fairly quick. Happy hours are 2-4 I believe where drinks are sold 30% off.

I ordered a dirty matcha hot with caramel and... wow. One sip and I practically melted into the floor. This drink is pure magic in a cup -- the earthiness of the matcha, the smooth richness of the espresso, and that sweet, golden caramel swirl? Perfection. It's the kind of drink that makes you close your eyes after the first taste

    Strawberry Matcha Latte

My fellow Swiftie friend and I decided to stop by for some legit boba in Downtown LA. My friend was wearing her Midnights cardigan and the staff on duty did not think twice about playing Taylor Swift's music in this iconic boba shop (Thank you so much!). It is so fitting because the Biltmore Hotel is right next door (Iykyk). My friend ordered a Matcha Latte while I ordered a Strawberry Matcha Latte with Almond Milk, 3/4 sweetness and boba. As the afternoon rolled in, it got slightly busier. I totally didn't mind waiting a few more minutes since Taylor's music was in the background. The Strawberry matcha latte had the perfect balance of naturally preserved strawberries and a generous amount of matcha and almond milk. Upon pick up, the bobaristas would recommend mixing your drink first prior to sipping. And before sipping, I didn't think twice to take a photo of this gorgeous drink. The bobaristas were totally right! It had the perfect balance of the strawberry's sweetness and matcha flavors and it worked well as an afternoon pick-me-up. I was totally enchanted and bejeweled to be here! Loose Leaf is now my go-to authentic boba shop in Downtown LA. Is it cool that I said all that?

I got the matcha and coffee and it was pretty good, there is some seating inside and decorated very pretty. Service was fast. Only negative there is no parking

I came in on a weekday midmorning and while there were others in the cafe, it wasn't too busy and I didn't have to wait at all. I took public transit and walked on over but there is theoretical metered street parking outside if you're lucky. Tea Ceremony (black) 5/5, I really enjoyed this! They verbally walk you through a how-to process for the tea steeping, provide you with a timer and all the equipment and have refillable water for you. This came with dried fruits and and choice of pastries; I opted for 2 egg tarts which were light, flaky, and stuffed full of egg!! There's a bathroom outside of Steep that they have the code for and there is wifi present so there are people on their laptops although I did witness someone take a work call in the cafe which I thought was odd?? Overall, I would come back and would recommend.

Unfortunately, I came on a weird day after several private events in a row, and the only "big bite" item they had was the beef noodle soup. It was decent, but not extraordinary. The soup was brothy (not thick), flavorful, but a little sweet. The beef was a bit drier than I liked. The portion was ok. I also had the iced guava oolong. It was refreshing, but you really cannot taste the tea. They are inside a courtyard across the street from Phoenix Bakery. It may be somewhat tricky to find if you're looking for a standalone storefront on the street. There is metered street parking but I later found out that the building has its own parking. Overall, a nice place. But I wouldn't come here specifically for their beef noodle soup. You get better in the SGV.

Like Robert W. shared, I understand that this teahouse is supposed to be a "communal space" and for the "community", but what person can spend ~$50-60 for entry per person, especially in this economy? How is that community building? For what, just tea? No other refreshments and limited arts supplies & seating. And the time it takes to get the tea made - people rush to get refills and so there never was enough. I don't know why they can't use bigger tea pots. And there's just one bathroom, if I recollect. While it is spacious, I think there're ADA concerns of getting into the bathroom due to initial stairs I believe they oversold the event too, so it felt like we were packed into such a limited space, almost sitting on top of one another. Had my extroverted friend not wanted to be here, I would never have stayed for the duration I did. There's barely any seating if there are groups who come and take up space; the entire space barely has any ventilation and they run incense sticks & aroma therapy, makign it extremely hard to breath after an hour. The air purifiers were on red the entire time, but not a single employee did anything, even when it was pointed out. All the shoes were off - which is great - but then you have a fire hazard right by the door because there's literally not enough shoe storage space, so shoes were all over the floor too. You're absolutely better off going to a small business coffee shop where there're pastries & drinks available, with more space & better ventilation.

The smoked salmon sandwich was probably my favorite of the savory bites. The desserts were pretty, sweet, and fit the whimsical princess tea-room aesthetic well. Nothing was overly adventurous or fusion-y, but everything felt thoughtfully prepared for an elevated afternoon tea experience. The portions were surprisingly filling by the end too! Price: Rose & Blanc is one of the more approachable afternoon tea experiences in Los Angeles. Their standard tea service starts around $38 per person, while the more elaborate tea set runs about $50 per person and includes additional stuff. Given how expensive high tea can get around LA, the pricing feels fairly reasonable, especially for special occasions like birthdays, bridal showers, or catching up with friends. Ambiance: The ambiance is probably the biggest draw here. The entire space is decorated in soft baby pink with floral accents, chandeliers, vintage-inspired décor, and elegant table settings. It feels feminine, charming (not tacky at all!) and intentionally designed for celebrations, and of course Instagram photos. Despite being located upstairs in a bustling Koreatown plaza, once you're inside it feels surprisingly cozy and transported from the busy city outside. Service: Service was friendly and attentive throughout the tea service. Staff checked in regularly, explained the tea sets, and kept things moving at a comfortable pace without making us feel rushed. Since tea service is reservation-based and served during designated seating times, everything felt organized and structured. Most servers spoke both English and Korean yay Parking: Parking is easier than expected for ktown. There's a self-parking structure available in the building, though spaces can fill up quickly during popular tea times and special events. Plenty of options. My wife and I tried out the pear and hibiscus teas respectively and they were just right: not too sweet. The sandwiches were great with slight asian influences to them. The pastries were my favorite though, nothing like a scone with butter and jam to go with your tea. Anyway, great teas, great food, great vibes, and great prices. What more do you need?
