They lay down the ground rules when you walk in and let you know how the evening will go. The tea was 10/10 wow! I can't recall which one i kept coming back to but i had four cups. I love how informative they are of each tea blends and they really cater to everyone. Once you find a nice little cozy spot pray it's still available when you get up to go to the restroom or get more tea. You can't reserve an area the whole point is to meet others and socialize. Orgy at Shiloh is what it should be renamed as. Let's name all of the many things that sucked: There's hardly any room to sit, so you're packed like sardines in this small room. There's fabric couches on the floor that are dingy and weird, people take up way more space than they should so you have to awkwardly wait for someone to get up and leave and take their spot. People are kissing and being super PDA even though you're one millimeter away from them. If an orgy started here I really would not be surprised. The tea is given to you in a teeny tiny cup, so you'll need to get up a lot to go get your refill and money's worth. Then you're worried some vulture will swoop in and take your spot. Looking around, I can see it's a very profitable place for them seeing as it's $50 a head for a pretty mid experience. This place is literally the definition of looks can be deceiving. It looks beautiful, spacious, and enticing on instagram but it's small and weird. If you're claustrophobic or easily grossed out, spare yourself. Oh, and if you have to go to the bathroom you'll have to go do that barefoot, too. It's also in a super sketch area so if you aren't lucky enough to get parking right out front then good luck. It's a reservation-only tea house. Once you're inside, you can drink as much tea as you want. The seating is super lounge-y and intentional, like someone designed it specifically for long conversations, deep thoughts, or doing absolutely nothing without guilt. There are books, some arts & crafts, and board games around, but you can just as easily bring your laptop, a book, a date, a journal, or your own thoughts. When I went, there was a live guitarist playing softly in the background, which made the whole place feel even more suspended from the outside world. The vibe is serene. Perfect spot to meet a friend you actually want to talk to, go on a thoughtful date, reconnect with your partner, read for hours, get some work done, or just sit alone and reset your brain. It feels designed for presence: no pressure to perform, no pressure to consume more than tea and quiet. It can get crowded during peak times, so I'd recommend going during off-hours if you want that extra-calm experience. Dress for comfort. Think hoodies, sweats, fuzzy socks energy (you remove your shoes upon entering so socks will keep you comfy). You'll want to sink into the seating and stay awhile. I honestly haven't experienced anything like this anywhere else in the U.S. It's intimate in a way that feels rare....built around the simple idea of slowing down and sharing space, whether that means conversation, creativity, or solitude. People come here to relax, work, chat, meet, think, or just exist for a bit, all while drinking really good tea. Big fan. This place does something special. My only gripe is that I wish they sold fewer reservation slots in the evenings, it can get a bit crowded during peak times which takes away from how peaceful the space is meant to feel. Everyone is always great and super accommodating, and tea selection is amazing and I genuinely look forward to trying these. It's already a given that this place is super cozy and have the most relaxing vibe, but I want to commend the team here because the staff does a great job cultivating that energy while you're there. Can't wait to be back! Parking wise, I would recommend getting there early if you're there for an event as parking does fill up quick right outside. It was a nice experience for what it was, but would not go back. Upon arriving you're greeted warmly, and instructed to take off your shoes. Because this was planned by a friend, I was not prepared with socks. As someone who deeply cares about cleanliness, this was not ideal(I would have loved the option to pay for socks). However, the explanation and intention of the tea quickly distracted me; the tea was earthy and cozy. After finding a spot for the night, I didn't want to move as I wanted to avoid walking around. The musician was good and I appreciated that it wasn't too loud, as it made space for conversation to continue to flow. It's a great place to relax with friends! The inside of the tea house is really relaxing and calming. They brew tea throughout the day and you get unlimited refills. On days without events you can ask for paper to draw, go there for studying, talking with friends, etc. They give you a plate of fruits or snacks while you are there as well! On nights with events, they will put it on their website when you can do fun activities that they have planned. I went during the day and they had a tarot card reader that did readings! The ambiance and staff are incredible! Reservations required and when we arrived we were given an introduction / overview of the space. They had 3 teas for the evening, two of which were herbal blends which I appreciated so late and had been blended that evening by the two hostesses. The teas had stories, intention, and encouragements to go with them! Most seating is on cushions on the ground which was so cozy and intimate. I loved the vibes so much! One note, we got there right at 7 and had our pick of spots, but by the end it was pretty crowded. I wish they limited spots a bit more. For activities, there is a small bookshelf and game library, and a long table that had watercolor painting stations. The live music was on an elevated platform which was pretty cool, but it started late and was a single guitarist when we expected a jazz band. It's definitely pricey, but I appreciated the curated experience as a unique place and awesome date. As others have said, it's in a dark sketchy alley and parking is limited. My oh my... what a gem of a spot. My friend of 17 years who I pretty much consider my sister has been telling me about this spot for about a year. I finally had the chance to check it out last week and it was the best decision ever. It's by reservation only and I booked a ticket for the daylight hours. I knew they only served tea however I happened to be there when a lovely gal was holding a coffee popup with beans from maru. I believe Cami was her name. She carried such a vibrant and positive energy and I thoroughly enjoyed her explaining her craft with great enthusiasm. Trang welcomed me as soon as I walked in and gently explained how the entire place works. She was so calm and I could already feel relaxed just by her aura. Now on to describing this place. Imagine a scenario where you have a super rich friend in NYC who owns a gigantic loft handed down to him or her from their wealthy grandparents who own a bunch of galleries around the city. And you happen to have met this awesome friend and they invite you over anytime you want so you can pause to catch a breath and re-the-f*-lax as my husband likes to always tell me to do. For those of you who have seen White Collar - imagine you're Neal Caffrey who just ran into June. It's like that. Hehe. Anyway - love love love this space and this entire concept. They also hold certain themed nights which all revolve around a time and intimate space for introspection and deep reflection. The music was described online as funk and r&b but it was not at all which disappointed myself and my group of 3 friends. The music was just slow, ambient and very chill. That being said it was a cute place. Kind of like a NY brick small loft vibe. Cramped by the end of the night as more people showed up. I guess it's a cool alternative to a cramped bar and you can have a chill conversation with people if you want to....but not sure if I would pay again to basically lounge in a living room. Also most of the seating is fabric... They give you unlimited tea w only 3 options. Considering the price and amounts of teas they had, we wished there were more options or a menu available. There are a few small areas to chill in... a small room... an upstairs area.. a table and some floor tables. There are watercolors and clay and tarot/conversation cards to use. I've had this place saved for a while and when I finally went it was so much smaller and compact in person. Looks super aesthetic in photos and videos but it's kinda gross in person. The couches look and feel dirty and unsanitary, and the bathroom area smelled strongly of urine. I don't think they spend much time cleaning at all. Tea is something I can make at home and it is so incredibly cheap to make, hence why it's unlimited. I wanted to love it since I liked the idea of a late night cafe/third space. There was only one girl working when I went and she was sweet. I went a couple months ago so I'm not sure if much has changed, but I just got reminded of it again from a video on TikTok. Like the other reviews said- it is in an incredibly shady location. For that reason, I will probably not go back or recommend it. Went during the evening hours with 3 friends for $48 each. Very dim and cozy, but this also made me fight to stay awake. Stayed for the duration because of the ticket price paid. The calendar on the site said it was a jazz/r&b night- but they played ambient music instead. I also want to add that the website is incredibly vague. Was expecting something livelier. Maybe some snacks instead of the 5 apple slices offered to our group would have made it more enjoyable too. A positive thing I'll say about it is the staff is sweet and the setup is pretty. I visited Tea at Shiloh several months ago. I was in DTLA late in the evening and wanted a place that was not a bar. I had seen Shiloh's posts on Insta and decided to check it out. Well thought out and beautifully decorated space. Wonderful intention behind this concept. But after my evening there I had two main thoughts. A) This is the kind of place I'd enjoy more if I was younger and didn't have a nice home/space of my own. Like if I had roommates etc. B) The first point is clearly why it attracts a younger crowd but then at $40 a reservation, it's way too expensive for your average 20 something year old! You don't get much for the price of admission. And the neighborhood was shady as fuck. Like walk into the wrong alley and get murdered kind of shady. Seriously. I opted to park my car at a lot with an attendant for this reason and I walked to and from the lot very fast. The place even has a bouncer type of security. So would I ever go again? I think only if I need a place to take out a sober acquaintance/friend (coz it's all just tea) or if I want to attend one of their workshops or performances. Otherwise, this is not worth your money. TLDR; Don't go out of your way to come here just coz you were enamored by what you saw on social media. You'd be in for a disappointment. I really don't think this experience is worth $50 a ticket for. You get small cups of tea (that you could easily make yourself at home), awkwardly try to find somewhere to sit (which is impossible), and try to enjoy your reservation that you paid for which isn't really possible. You're trying to get comfortable, but the furniture is slightly gross and there's some random dude's nasty foot tapping you every other minute. And the question is-- who tf are all these people? Amazing experience. Arts District in Los Angeles reminds me of stumbling into a stunning environment in like say Bushwick, Brooklyn. Located in a former warehouse, Shiloh's tea room interior is a magical blend of gentle comfort. We were met at the door by Trang who expertly guided us through the tea and process. She instantly had us feeling very comfortable in the incredible chill atmosphere that others have described and pictured here on Yelp. Teas we sipped were amazing along with small fruits to nibble. Loved the vibes! I've heard so much about Shiloh through Tiktok and my friend. It was my first time and I went during Daylight Hours. Upon entering, everyone has to take off their shoes, and the host gave a quick overview of the seating areas, where the restroom is, and the teas. Based on who's hosting, the teas will be different, but my host brewed oolong tea, hojicha tea, and this unique blend that tasted like chocolate. I was also served a bowl of sliced fruits as well. I sat on the sofas and did some work while enjoying the hot tea. Music was playing very softly in the background and everyone was very quiet, so it was a relaxing experience. The sofa was so comfy I wanted to take a nap. The restroom was adorably decorated as well; I wanted to take inspo for my bathroom at home. It is a day pass, so you can come and go within the hours. Parking was fairly easy to find. I would love to come again but I'm not sure it's worth the price of $35 in my opinion. Definitely worth coming once for the experience though! read more

Came on a weekday for daytime tea. I arrived at 10AM and was able to find parking in the alley without any issues. Because it was bright outside, it was easy to find the entrance with the directions sent via email. The inside is smaller than I expected but it was home-y, cozy, and relaxing. We had 3 tea options to drink from and got unlimited refills. They also gave us some fruits to eat while hanging out. The only cons I have are that each visit is extremely pricey and I can see the experience being not super enjoyable if there are a lot of people. Like many recent customers, we found Tea at Shiloh via social media and found ourselves enamored with its atmosphere from viral clips alone. The reservation process is fairly simple: we booked Saturday Late Night Tea (7-11 PM) on a Tuesday through their website and received a confirmation email with a few QR codes a day or two later. I would recommend booking a few days in advance because their weekend spots do fill up pretty quickly. We ended up getting there at around 8:30 but found the actual tea shop really hard to locate. It's in the very back left of an alleyway with no apparent signage, and an unmarked security car was sitting in the middle of the street when we pulled into a spot. A person came out of the car to scan our codes and pointed us to the door, which was super helpful because we wouldn't have found it without him. First thing you'll notice is the very permeating scent of diffused incense - so be warned if you have a sensitive nose. Staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel like we were at a family reunion, and the activities consisted of things like watercolor painting, puzzles, and little bits of clay. The tea was definitely interesting - three selections with flavors ranging from butterfly pea concoctions to one that tasted like pho broth. Snacks unfortunately had run out by the time we got there, but we saw people eating strawberries out of those little disposable sauce containers. We had a very relaxing time, but the $35 price tag and location (1 hr+ drive) make it a little inaccessible for regular visits. I would definitely recommend trying it at least once - it's got to be someone's cup of tea! read more

I was really looking forward to the opening of Tea at Shiloh for months before they officially opened! Unfortunately I have to agree with Brenna's review below. The space is beautiful, with ambient instrumental music and endless tea, but $35 is still a steep price for the experience. We had booked the 10am-3pm daylight hours session and came around 12:30pm, and all the comfy cushion spots were taken. All that was left was the table with stools, or having to squeeze in on the cushions with other visitors. I also felt like the snacks were lackluster - a few grapes and a cracker. There was also another trio that came in soon after and sat next to us, talking very loudly as if they were at brunch... It was very distracting and hard to tune out as I was trying to read. Would've been great if the staff could have told them to lower their voices given how the space is marketed. I do appreciate Shiloh's mission to build community and a creative space for people, and understand there maybe be costs struggles. At the current price point for what you get, it just felt more like a one-time-experience and not something I can afford again. If you're able to splurge on it, I do recommend getting there at the beginning of your session to secure a good spot! read more

When you turn to go into the street, it's all parking for that circle of businesses on that street. although I was initially skeptical going at night, solo, and as a girl, after walking around I felt safe in this area, compared to other parts of what you would expect in DTLA. disclaimer - of course have spatial awareness of your surroundings any time etc for peace of mind, feelings of safety is relative to each person etc. I'd recommend parking closest to their entrance. entrance To avoid having difficulty locating the exact entrance, the best thing to do is enter the exact coordinates provided in your email reservation into your phone. There is a tall door entrance with a tiny lantern on top. what to wear There's a shoe rack at the entrance and they will ask you to remove shoes. Wear socks and layer up so you don't get cold. Note that I did go in the winter though. dress comfortably. The interior is a nice cozy setup. Blankets, pillows, comfy interior design. teas There are 3 teas offered the night I went. I went for the Gratitude Group collaboration with the workshop theme Art of Dating Yourself. It was a great event, I loved the soundbath, discussions, etc. rsvp / event notes Note that it is pricey if you go just for tea and tea only where there is no workshop event - So I'd advise against going at a regular tea night. Pick a reservation with a themed workshop to get the most bang for your buck. There are a lot of fun themes they have!! It makes me want to go back. Lots of interesting self-care themed workshops - besides Art of Dating yourself I saw ones involving Gua Sha skincare, dreams, etc. also jazz nights. Reservations can get sold out quickly but they do have a Discord for reselling tickets if you wanted to buy it from someone else. final conclusion I'd go back if there was another fun workshop that caught my eye - I wouldn't go often or regularly though since it can be pricey. read more

Sadly disappointed in this place. Even though the ambiance was great and cozy, Shiloh doesn't really deliver. Most of what they offer you can just do at home. For it being our first time, we got there about ten minutes early and knocked on the door as instructed, to which someone very rudely told us to leave. Totally fine as we understand we were early, but for a community who promotes inclusivity and understanding--we didn't really feel welcomed after that. :( Tea was subpar with no additions available to make it the way you like it and the snack situation was a little sad: five blueberries and a peach slice in a cup for my group to share. Other patrons were very nice but the vibe is fairly pretentious. Shiloh wasn't our cup of tea, but I appreciate what they're trying to do in a city where many are looking for community. Came here with my boyfriend for a nice, meditative night, but I frankly did not find my experience worth the amount I paid per person. The amount of people crammed into the space felt like a fire hazard and was really a bit overwhelming as it was hard to find a place to sit and relax. They have activities set up such as water coloring/painting, tea drinking, reading, or even sleeping, but this is something you can easily do at home without having to pay to go elsewhere and be surrounded by strangers. We came in towards the last 2 hours and their watercolor station only had water and color pencils. We had to ask for paints three times and the employees seemed totally confused or in another dimension, especially since everyone else was just "painting" with water for the past few hours LOL. That night was very magical, good conversation, but also plenty of space to stretch out and relax, and sit and read by myself. It wasn't crowded and it only cost $35. I came back again in mid 2023, and the vibes were similar. I think the ticket prices had risen slightly, and there was now a live ambient artist playing. But it was still not too crowded and I had a pleasant time. I just went back the other day in April 2025, and this place was absolutely jam packed. There was nowhere for me to sit. I sat in the middle of a walkway for half an hour until a couple people left and I could move to their spot. As a result of being more crowded, it was quite a bit noisier. My girlfriend said it felt like walking into a house party--at least in terms of the amount of people close to the door/landing area. It's not crazy loud or anything. First, I am really glad for the team to see their success and popularity. Second, I'm not upset about my experience, I just had different expectations based on past visits. I will also say that the crowd was pretty young and pretty social (I'm in my 30s). I was hoping to get some reading in and drawing, but it was too dark once the music started, and too cramped to feel relaxed. But if you're coming to socialize and maybe make new friends in your 20s, this could absolutely be the space for you. read more

We found this place looking for outings that didn't revolve around drinking. Price felt a bit high but the vibe is really cozy and lovely and the space is amazing. The night we went they had a shamisen performer which was a very cool experience. However, this might not be the best place to go if your group is introverted. It did kind of feel like being at a party where you don't know anyone and everyone seems cooler than you lol....Some people thrive in that environment but I felt a bit awkward the whole time. One thing I will emphasize is WEAR SOCKS! I forgot about the no-shoe policy and made the mistake of wearing sandals so I had to be barefoot in the space. This didn't bother me until I had to use the restroom. Even if the restroom is clean and well decorated it is still a public restroom and I felt very icky walking in it with my bare feet. It has been a bit since I've been there so maybe now they provide something now to protect your feet in the bathroom but idk. read more

I really wanted to love this place. Day session. Crowded. One guy talking incredibly loudly. One sick girl who could NOT stop coughing. That's on her to not come into a space that's meant to be rather chill. But at what point does the establishment respectfully ask them to leave? I mean, not only are you disturbing the peaceful atmosphere, you're spreading disease. Why would they allow that? Tea houses and mindfulness are meant to go hand in hand. The people running the place should manage that. Crucial. Found myself thinking it's cozier/more vibes at home. $35 bucks for... ? Eh. This is my go-to place for relaxing, productive workdays. It's so hard to find a sanctuary for deep-work these days and coffee shops are just so noisey and expensive. Tea at Shiloh provides a welcome refuge from the chaos outside and is a perfect space to chill during the day and get work done. I've also LOVED their Late Night sessions for sober date nights and art classes. Staff are also incredible. Shout out to Trang for being a tea angel and such a welcoming presence in the space. read more
