My family and I went here around 2pm on a Saturday. The restaurant itself is really big inside. The service was horrible. Our waiter had no personality and was rude from the moment we sit down. The margaritas and food are nothing to brag about. We had the beef fajitas which we sent back. The meat was overcooked. We switched to the shrimp fajitas which were a little better. There are too many good Mexican restaurants in Houston. I would go elsewhere. read more

Traveled to Houston for the first time to visit my daughter and her boyfriend. Went to dinner with his family and this was the restaurant they picked. Large open dining area and we arrived just as it was getting busy on a Friday night. Seated 7 of us quickly and got menus and drink orders plus chips and salsa out efficiently. We were talking up a storm but they managed to get our orders with no trouble. I ordered beef fajitas and our orders were out of the kitchen in a flash. Pretty typically Tex Mex menu - Portions were large - everything looked good and no complaints from anyone. I had one of their margaritas and it was good. May be back someday !! read more

This was my first time here. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time, and I finally got the chance because I was in the area. I ordered my food to go, which was a ground beef burrito with rice and beans. It came with tortilla chips and salsa. The burrito was full of meat, with plenty of chili and cheese melted on top. I loved the seasoned rice, and the refried beans were good, too. I didn't have to wait very long for my order, which was great. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I think this spot was a solid 3.5 stars. It all depends on what you order here. This place was pretty casual, and the waitstaff was attentive to our needs. My family and I got complimentary chips and salsa served to us pretty quickly. The chips were pretty good, but a little thicker than I'd like. Their salsa was ok too. It didn't have enough of that roasted tomato flavor that Pappasitos has. Since we were still in time for their happy hour, we ordered their $4 classic frozen margaritas. Whoowee, these were strong and delicious drinks. Totally worth it! As far as their entrees go, I could tell from the pictures and reviews that their enchiladas were very popular here. So, we ordered the enchiladas verdes and beef fajita enchiladas. Both were good. But, I did find the beef enchiladas more flavorful, and I would order this the next time we come here. My dad ordered and shared the fajitas for two dish with my mom. I had a little taste of their fajita meat as well. I would say their fajitas were not worth it for the price. The meat was tough and lacked beefy flavor. I would stick to their enchiladas, for sure. We did order flan for dessert with the little room that we had left in our bellies. The flavor was pretty good. It had a lot of caramel and custard flavor. But, the texture of the custard itself wasn't silky smooth. It was a little too hard and didn't cut through with a spoon easily. We probably won't be ordering this again. Overall, I'd say the best thing to do is to come here and enjoy their happy hour frozen margaritas and their beef fajita enchiladas. The service is excellent and you'll have a wonderful time. Service was good there are no complaints. Drinks and drink specials are good. The food was not what I expected based off the reviews. I am big on quality and choose restaurants over taquerias for a reason. I expected more from the food when it came to taste but the queso looked like nacho cheese from a can. I got the beef fajitas and they were absolutely delicious and my husband got the Chile Relleno with ground beef and it was really good! I've been coming here for years, wanna say almost 10+. This is truly a family owned restaurant, you feel their love and attention. We came during a super busy time on a Friday evening. We were constantly checked up on. Everyone is so friendly! So over the last 10 years I've figured out my favorite items: ocampo combo - enchiladas and bean taco and queso puff. Delicious all around and more than enough food for left overs the next day. Queso - I love their queso hits the spot every time. Its actually flavorful? Classic margarita on the rocks - delicious margarita with the perfect amount of liquor. Salsa verde - gotta ask for it but it's spicy and delicious for chips Also got a chance to try their churros from their truck outside! I got a churro with chocolate and sprinkles. I had Lopez catered at a party and it was so delicious! Sometimes takeout doesn't always hit the same as in the restaurant itself, but Lopez hits always. The Paloma salad was just fantastic and a great summer salad. The crunch in the salad added a great texture. The salad was just packed with vibrant flavors and delicious surprises like the avocado and apple. The enchiladas were so cheesy and the verde sauce was so good. whenever i hear lopez the answer is always yes! drinks are good, food is great (and comes in a generous portion), and service is good too --you're always taken care of by anyone. i've come here for years so i've gotten a variety of menu items. everything is filling, you would never leave hungry. love the authenticity of the restaurant. from the decor, to the food and there's even a tortilla making station. my most recent favorite thing were the flautas... i've never had flautas like this before anywhere. one thing i will say, you will always find this resturant busy and sometimes overcrowded. the last time we were seated so close that the lady backed out of her chair and bumped the chair into me on the side. too close. read more

We were a party of four. We dined here early Saturday evening after spending the day at Rodeo Houston. We were told there was a 15-20 minute wait. We ordered a couple of margaritas from the bar while we waited. The person behind the bar made the drinks from a premade mix. The drinks were horrible. They tasted like watered down kool aid. The drinks were returned to the bar. The bar tender remade the drinks and they were much better. The cheese enchilada tasted like it was filled with Cheese Whiz. I'm not a fan of Cheese Whiz. The remainder of the food was delicious. We had chicken and beef enchiladas and a couple of beef tacos. I would dine here again. read more
