It was quite a while to visit hair salon in general, and especially at this particular location. So, I probably missed a few changes including pricing or policy. When I asked about pricing on root touch up/single process over the phone, the reception gentleman said it would be same as before, which was $107. Then, I checked the website that there were 3 tiers of designers with $60/62/65 on single process hair color. At my previous visit, I added botanical treatment which was about $15 or $20, so I think the receptionist didn't look at the details, and just told me whatever he saw from the old record and said it's same $107 without specifying what services I had before. So, when I walked in, I asked the same receptionist to clarify the price. Then, he said they no longer offer 3 tiers of designer's price, but only one 'master' tier price, which was $65 for root-touch ups/ single process. Shampoo and blow dry was $38, and they were required for the root-touch up although the website showed differently as shampoo/blow dry add on to the hair color was $21. Since I didn't want blow dry and wanted to keep the same price that I had before, I tried to ask if they could replace blow dry to botanical treatment that I did last time, then, not surprisingly, it was not accepted. Wish they don't mandate the customer for paying extra $38 for the add-on shampoo and blow dry on top of hair color. But it's the policy that the reception gentleman couldn't be flexible about. It has been a while to visit the particular location, so possibly I missed the opportunity to see some changes progressed; the lady I had my hair color left; website was not updated with new prices or information about removing tiers of designers; shampoo and blow dry add on pricing is removed, and full price is added to hair color. I've been a loyal customer on both products and hair salons of Aveda for more than a dozen years. It used to be my pleasant treat for myself for relaxing and enjoyable visit at Aveda salons. But unfortunately, I feel sad that I was not pleased about my visit at this particular salon even before my hair was done. I left without any service. Fortunately, my salon certificate can be used at any Aveda salons regardless of selected name of salon on the certificate, so I'll save it for later. read more

Denise was amazing as well as fun to chat with! I had been doing some DIY hair trims over the past year that were a mess. My hair could not feel/look healthier and she gave me the most seamless layers which is hard with my fine hair. I recently got a perm here. The lady was very nice. Unfortunately my hair came out without one curl. One side had some waves but the other side looked like it did before the perm and my ends were fried. I was polite after she finished styling my hair and left a good tip even though I was disappointed. I wasn't able to tell her to her face that I didn't like it. I was thinking maybe she put too much product and that I'd like it more after I washed it after the 3 days but that wasn't the case. It was just so frizzy and dry and like I said... no curls. I reached out to them a few days later to let them know that I was dissatisfied and I was told to send some pictures of my hair and to make another appointment to come in. I told them I didn't want anything else done to my hair but they still wanted me to come in. Due to my busy schedule I wasn't able to come back in just for them to look at my hair. I emailed them again and asked if I could get my money back and they have yet to respond. I came in and got highlights a 3 1/2 inch cut , and toner and layers added , my hair was touching my waist almost super thick and time consuming, Nina was my stylist ,she was really amazing, she was very gentle but what I loved the most about her is even though my hair is a pain in the butt she took her time and was very thorough with each highlight and the results showed it , I got there at 9am and I didn't leave until around 4 pm , very tedious work and she did a great job!! Lordis Loft was supposed to do my hair and make up for my wedding. When I did the trial, there was a girl at the front desk complaining the entire time about another girl at the salon. My stylist did not really listen to what I wanted and instead imposed a hair style on me similar to the one she did for her own wedding. I left more stressed than when I came for my expensive trial. A few weeks before the wedding we were not receiving responses from the salon for scheduling. The person managing our event had left the salon and they did not communicate this to us or try to solve this issue. Luckily, we were able to quickly find another salon to fix this nightmare situation. read more

PLEASE BE CAREFUL GOING HERE!!!! I asked for all over light blonde and a trim. I provided pictures as to what I wanted and what my hair currently looked like. When I get there the man at the front desk told me it would be $325, or if they went over 4 or 5 hours it would be $500. I think her name was Sarah that did my hair. she was very nice and so was the man at the front desk. I sat down and started at 3:00pm and I was there until 12:15AM... 9 HOURS! and then they wanted me to pay $800 JUST FOR ALL OVER COLOR AND A TRIM??? which by the way my hair is now way shorter than I wanted it which is not that big of a deal.. I guess it needed it? My hair however is now yellow and my roots are dark orange so I have to correct it myself now because I spent my whole paycheck getting my hair done here. anyway they were very nice it just went horribly for me lol. read more

I called yesterday and was immediately welcomed by phone by Michelle. As I was a first time customer from Atlanta I was briefly screened by phone then I was offered a appointment on my time frame which was in an hour ! The salon location is great, very clean and refreshing soothing beautiful decor !! The employees had masks on felt very safe and was a very friendly experience !! I received a blow out that included a shampoo and a detailed blow out that was just what I wanted ! Jessica was fabulous and a joy to work with !! I've been to Lordis Loft twice to get my hair cut, colored and a follow-up appointment for a glaze. Both times at the salon I was taken care of by the front desk receptionist and the stylists. The decor is very inviting and relaxing which certainly goes hand in hand with the service that I received. The stylists were easy to talk to, but also respected any quiet, relaxation time I wanted. I am looking forward to getting more hair services completed at Lordis Loft soon! read more

I haven't had a haircut in a long time and needed a trim and essentially a curl refresh. Tara knew exactly what my hair needed and was quick to diagnose what needed help. I ended up just getting a little trim and my layers fixed. Normally, I would go to a stylist that maybe specializes in curly hair, but I was in a rush to find an appointment before the holidays. I think Tara did a great job with my cut and she obviously really knows what she's doing I've seen amazing reviews and I totally understand why. She was lovely to talk to and my trim felt good, I just don't think she dried or styled my hair as i would've hoped and I couldn't see my curl pattern lay properly until I washed it after I got home (so I couldn't see if anything was laying unevenly with my curls). I did mention to her that I normally don't do my hair in that way and she was very accommodating. She asked if I would like to get my hair washed again or re-wet and I really appreciated that. It's not the end of the world, it's just a little disappointing to leave the salon experience, but not feel confident. I know that's partly my fault and it's been difficult to find stylists who are experienced in curly hair styling in CHS, so I don't fully blame her and she still did a good job and I've seen people rave about her color jobs so I know she's an amazing stylist, just maybe not a right fit for me. I was in the market for a new salon so I called and made an appointment based on good review I've read. I believe my stylist's name was Olivia, and she did a great job and was very professional. My only complaints are that the stylist didn't have any interest in giving me more info about the products used or seeing if I was interested in purchasing any (I was!). The other complaint was there was no attempt to get me to book my next appointment. I would've happily set a future appointment, but I wasn't even asked if I would be interested. I wanted to spend money on products and also come back again, but I got the feeling that the staff wanted me to just pay and move along. Overall I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the stylist. The customer service aspect needs some work to give this salon a step up above the hundreds of other salons in the Charleston area. read more
