Finally able to stop by Lorenzo Pizza. It's been on my list for a while and a few people have been telling me to try it. I usually prefer the thicker Sicilian slices when it comes to square pizza and I'm more of a floppy greasy pizza sliced person... But some of these places that have the more crispy thin dough are growing on me. Nice big slices, tasty sauce and great amount of toppings. Bonus for the round sliced sausage... Lorenzos was another place on my list to try. My wife and I drove over on a Sunday October night. There was not a lot of people dining in, maybe 1/2 full. It was quick and easy to order. The pizza slice I had was very good. It pretty much lived up to the hype I have been reading. We ordered a chicken cheesesteak special. Love Lorenzo's! During this visit, I took home the honey pie. The pie was still warm when I got home and it was delicious! The combination of sauce, mozzarella, small pepperoni topped with Romano, basil and hot honey was AMAZING! The hot honey gives the pizza a little heat that really opens up your nostrils. It took me and my fiancé a long time to try Lorenzo Pizza & Steaks, but after a raving review from a co-worker (specifically the DeJawn sandwich) we finally got around to it, twice. The first night we ordered take-out on a Friday night at peak dinner hours and the pick-up time was surprisingly very quick despite the restaurant being busy. We went with an upside down pie and the DeJawn sandwich, of course (chicken cutlet with burrata, vodka sauce, hot honey and basil), and the DeJawn lived up to the hype. We split the DeJawn 4 ways along with the pizza and it was plenty of food for all of us. The bread was decent, but the combination of the vodka sauce, hot honey, and burrata really clicked. The upside down pie was good and the crust was crisp, but it didn't blow me away. Fast forward a few weeks and we were out running errands and decided to stop in for a bite to eat. We split an Italian Chick (chicken cutlet sandwich with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone) which was so-so. Again, the bread was just okay and so were the cutlets. I'd definitely recommend the DeJawn over the Italian Chick. The pizza however was great. We ordered three pre-made slices: Honey Pie slice (classic pizza sauce with pepperoni and hot honey), a veggie slice (mushrooms, spinach, red sauce, and cheese), and a square Trio slice (vodka sauce, pesto, red sauce). The pizza reheated beautifully, the crust was crisp and thin, lots of flavor, and the slices were huge. Lorenzo's is in a prime location in the Promenade in Marlton so of course there's lots of parking and they should do well. It's great to be able to have the option to run in and grab a slice or two after spending some time shopping. There's definitely a pizzeria vibe inside but I'd say a little more updated and modern than most. All of the employees we've crossed paths with have been very professional and respectful. I can definitely see myself going back in the near future for another DeJawn sandwich and Hot Honey Pie with Pepperoni. read more

Another place on my list to try. Friday night, I was thinking 30 min wait? So I called in, cheesesteak and fries. I was told 40 to 50 mins. I was optimistic so I showed up at 40 min mark but not ready. Since I called in, I paid once I got in and also threw in a slice of hot honey with pep. Highly, highly recommend. This is also good to know you can pop in to grab just a slice. Total wait about an hour. Very friendly staff and this place was jamming. The crinkle cut fries are boring but fine. The cheesesteak is absolutely delicious. The bread is great, the meat is tender, the melted cheese, this is an insanely good cheesesteak. I had gotten fried onions on the side. My husband and I stopped here for dinner about two weeks ago, and the food was DELICIOUS. I ordered the Sweet Heat sandwich (grilled chicken, roasted peppers, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, and hot honey), and my husband ordered the Chicken Parm sandwich. The Sweet Heat had the perfect balance of sweet and savory and heat, and the grilled chicken was so tender. The Chicken Parm had to be the best chicken parm sandwich I've ever had - the chicken was also so tender. I love these types of pizza/sandwich places, and their menu gave us fresh and delicious options. If I ever had an event, I would definitely look into the catering options here. While $14 and $15 feels pricey for a sandwich (but we know it's more of the norm these days), the sandwiches were big enough for us to take home half for lunch the next day (so it felt more like about $7.00 per meal which is always more up my alley). We went on a Monday night, and while it didn't seem too crowded, we did see some folks coming in to pick up their takeout orders. The music was a little loud, but it didn't have an effect on our experience. We didn't realize that Lorenzo's was owned by the same folks who own LaScala's! Absolutely love this place! My daughter and her friends come here all the time, and after finally trying it myself, I can see why. As someone who grew up with amazing pizza in North Jersey, I can honestly say this spot right here in South Jersey holds its own. What really impressed me was the kindness of the staff. This would be my second review both orders were delivered by DoorDash. No problems with deliveries at all. The first time was shortly after they opened up and the food was excellent. My latest order was Friday, June 27 at 6:37 PM. Ordered the Pizza steak Cooper sharp cheese, fried onions. Plus I ordered the red pizza. Well, everything was that bad that I would hesitate to go back there again. The steak itself was Edible out of the soft mushy roll. It needed salt. They used their regular cheese and they forgot the fried onions. The red pizza was a total disaster. It was so hard and crispy like a overdone cracker and you couldn't even eat it. What a disappointment plus a waste of money. I wrote a review on the DoorDash app like I do with all my order, (good or bad) however, for some reason it never posted so that's why I'm on yelp writing this review so customers can read it and make their own decisions about Lorenzo's I'm not looking to get any credit or any money back.
