Even local small business shops advertise thier products like jams, jelly, dressings, seasonings and even fresh baked bread. My two young boys and I head over here about 1-2x a week to shop. The staff is always so kind, super sweet and helpful. I've had so many good conversations! I do a lot of canning and I make a lot of pepper jelly and fruit jam, WITH the produce J&J Ramos farms harvest. It's always the best experience when we come out here.

The cookies oatmeal without raisins and chocolate chip, am glad we got one each if we bought any more we would have finish them off before we got home. And local honey, I plan to restart taken local honey for allergies so I'll plan to buy more honey. There was some tumblers and yarn dish scrubber, I think. Plan to go Saturday again, and restock. Lol this time will bring coffee to go with them yummy cookies. Gonna try the sugar cookies !

It's a good place to meet friends and family and support the vendors who were hit hard by the shut down. There was strawberries, cherries, beets, peaches, fresh flowers, and succulents among the choices. Four stars for less produce than Modesto, but maybe that will change it's still early in the season. I also like that it's an evening market versus a morning like Modesto.

I have been to other markets and this one by far exceeded my expectations. The vibe was just what needed to roll me into the weekend. I am still thinking about it and can't wait to go back. There were so many awesome vendors and the fact that proceeds help support the amazing Joy Garden is awesome. You feel the love that goes into creating this space for people to come and gather. Food, music, sweet treats, flowers...the list goes on. It is truly a must if you are in the area or don't mind a little drive because it surely won't disappoint.

It dawned on me recently when I purchased gorgeous Peacock asparagus from Whole Foods here in…read moreKnoxville, TN that its tag indicates distributed by Turlock Fruit Co. The asparagus from the Peacock Farm was so fabulous that I returned this morning determined to purchase more (only two bunches remained among all asparagus available .. and I again chose Peacock's)! But, the amazing thing is that I live for the day when "King of the West" honeydew's arrive at Publix in July or so ... and I know from the day Publix opened its first store in our fair city that we can count on Turlock's to get these melons this far east! Publix pretty much has a monopoly on these special melons, although I have seen an occasional KOW melon in a rival grocery. I wish I lived closer to CA to see what other wonders Turlock's display/sell. Sandra Butler
