We were in Maine for a week and ate here 4-5 times between breakfast and lunch! Everything we ordered, each time, was amazing! The dump truck breakfast is a must-try, especially with homemade bread! I got the grilled turkey, bacon and cheese sandwich with homemade chips! The turkey was clearly freshly carved and not lunch meat! The baked Mac & cheese was awesome and their muffins are amazing! Unfortunately I didn't get dessert but I had my eyes on the homemade pumpkin pecan pie! This place is a must try!! We had breakfast for 4 plus two additional chocolate milks (no free refills on chocolate milk) for $36! Great prices, even better food!! read more

My family and I stopped at Lori's while on vacation and we sat at the counter. I like sitting close to the staff because you can really get a true feel of how they are! While we were at Lori's I became impressed with how they make everyone feel at home and how they interact with each other!! The food was extremely good and the owner was awesome!! We were visiting the area and Lori's Cafe was recommended to us. We decided to sit at the counter since there was only one table left for 4 and we didn't want to take that. The waitress at the counter was cutting fruit and gave us a "look" when we sat down. She had to move some of the fruit, but continued to cut the strawberries in front of us. We both had cheeseburgers which were very good with the homemade chips which were excellent. The pies on the counter looked delicious - apple and pecan. Our waitress was not friendly and never smiled. Maybe she was having a bad day, but customer service is number one in my book. It made me feel like we were not welcome. read more

This will not be a departure from the prior reviews. Lori's Cafe serves simply delicious comfort food. We ordered the Fried Pickles as an appetizer. The portion was impressive - and with ranch dressing for dipping, we made short work of them. The Seafood Stew (6.99 for a bowl) was outstanding and came with a creamy chowder base and enough scallops, shrimp, haddock , etc. to ensure seafood in every bite. My kids ordered chocolate chip pancakes (breakfast available all day). The children's portion was too much for my 9 year old - and he generally orders off the adult menu. The 5 year olds ate about half before running out of gas. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich was fine - but the onion rings were excellent. If you happen to be in the Liberty, ME neighborhood, it's well worth the side trip! read more

Cute little cafe...staff was very friendly. We went Saturday for breakfast, it was around 9am and it was busy but got seated quickly and there was a good selection on the menu. The Dump Truck was what my husband had for breakfast. I had sausage gravy over biscuits which was very good. We got cinnamon rolls to go and honestly we didnt love them but the food we had there as great. Just keep in mind that your bill has to be over $15 to use a card otherwise you need cash-thats why we had the cinnamon rolls to go. read more

Another thumbs up, way up, for Lori's Raspberry Pie. Also the pumpkin whoopee pies in the fall. Bacon in the BLT was thick, but was not crisp enough. Chewy bacon in a BLT doesn't work because when you try to take a bite of your sandwich, the whole big wad of chewy bacon all pulls out of the sandwich. read more

We stopped in here for lunch in the course of an extended road trip. Going East toward Mt. Desert Island it was the first restaurant we had passed for many miles. It was crowded when we came in. Service was friendly, and the various signs decorating the cafe are pretty funny. The food. Ah, the food was wonderful. My stepson had seafood chowder which was simple, loaded with fish, and delicious. He reported his BLT was very good, on homemade bread. My wife and I had burgers. Both were wonderful. Thick, rare and tasty. The homemade potato chips were terrific. The onions rings with the BLT may have been the best I have ever eaten. We had a very nice blueberry pie for desert. My husband, two kids and I were on vacation in Maine last week. We were very hungry for lunch and seemingly in the middle of nowhere. We just had to settle for the first place we saw since everybody was grumpy and hungry. Well, lucky for us, Lori's Cafe was the first place. First of all, they are so friendly in there. Quite rare for New England, I assure you (I'm a native of MA). Secondly, the menu is huge. The girls got grilled cheese sandwiches on amazing, homemade bread. I got a burger that was cooked to medium-rare perfection. It was so juicy and flavorful, and everything that came around it was great: bun, lettuce and tomato, and awesome hand-cut potato chips. Yummy! My husband got a reuben and it had great flavor, as well. There were so many great touches, like homemade desserts (we got a delicious blueberry turnover), homemade bread, hand-cut fries and chips, and really great coffee (hot or iced, since it's New England!). It was also clean. All around, a fantastic experience, which was a great surprise. Oh, and did I mention just how low the prices were? A great bargain. read more

We were on our way to China (Maine) to eat dinner the other night when we passed Lori's. Being it was so close to home and we'd never tried it out, we turned the car around. A sure sign of a great Maine diner is a full parking lot. Inside, We found a bustling old fashioned New England diner with signs with corny sayings on the wall, no two tables matching each other, and at every one a smiling patron. My elderly dad got liver and onions - which actually looked appetizing, and I got a good heap of fried scallops. And French fries. We noted other patrons being served prime rib that even looked good to this almost vegetarian. Choosing a slice of pie was a no-brainer. Dad got coconut cream and I, the raspberry. Disgustingly racist!!!! Was on vacation with some friends , me and my friends are all Spanish and two are dark skinned and let me tell me you if you are any of the kind please forget to visit Maine and this cafe you will be stared at in disgust and feel uncomfortable!!! We rented out an air bnb not too far from the cafe and the owner to our house left her card with the place to treat us for breakfast due to an inconvenience in the house and our waitress tried to say they never do such a thing and had a attitude as soon as she seen my friend ready to cal the lady from our air bnb she asked out loud to waitress if there was a card left there and lady told her yes, you can tell she was pissed! I felt uncomfortable soon as I walked in as alllll eyes were on us and uncomfortable with our waitress as we were trying our best to be polite but as she would ask for our order she'll have a attitude and slam our plates on our table every time we would say thank you she will just walk away. She wasn't the same with everyone else in the cafe she was extremely nice to everyone. She never even came and asked how's our food like everyone else and everyone else in the cafe seemed to have their eyes allll On us. There was this one man who was just creepily staring at my dark skinned friend and wouldn't look away. This does not only happen in the cafe but this also happens everywhere you go around in this little area in Maine. It absolutely saddens me that racism is still a thing and that people like us can't visit such a beautiful area and enjoy it without feeling like we are unwanted in disgusting. Me and my friends carry ourselves very well and we're very well mannered there was absolutely no reason for the Stare downs, Stare of disgust, and attitudes we got. Great specials every day that are made created by Lori and not pulled from a box. Very good appetizers, breakfast, lunch and dinners, with homemade pies for dessert. Lori's is great. I'm a vegetarian and if you are, too, don't expect a lot of options beyond a standard grilled cheese with American cheese. But go for the grilled cheese -- it will take you back to your childhood and you'll love it.
