Update: Her seams fell out. Took it to a REAL tailor and they actually started laughing. They have no idea how she screwed the shoulders up this badly. They literally said "was she drunk?" She left 2 large tattered holes in the sides that they are repairing as well. When I try to call her for a refund she does not answer. From initial phone call to alteration it took less than an hour. The pants look great and she even fixed a shirt in need of a button. 1 hem, 1 waistline and 1 button for $15 ! Nice and great job! DO NOT TAKE YOUR ITEMS TO LORI'S ALTERATIONS!! Please, look elsewhere! Lori is super sweet, but very rude and inconsiderate when presented with a problem/concern. She will not acknowledge or willing to help. This isn't a situation of poor communication, etc. I provided her with a CalKing Comforter that I specifically stated needed to get dry cleaned because it hasn't been washed in over a year. Tags state dry clean only! When picked up, it was neatly covered. Once the comforter was placed on the bed, I noticed it lost its fluff and 100% wrinkled! Photos provided for proof. I was so disappointed. I called Lori explaining my concern. She was very sharp and stated there's nothing she can do because it's been washed. I stated that it was supposed to be dry cleaned!! She said nope it was placed in the washer and dryer. OMG, I could have done that in my own home!! I went to her for a dry cleaning service!!! Such a let down. I thought it's best to help a local small family-owned business, but I paid the price. Never again! She lost a potential loyal customer. I should have read previous reviews. Met with Lori to have some minor alterations made to a wedding dress and to dry clean a suit and press other delicate garments. Lori was very detail oriented and took the time to understand what was needed and even allowed the bride try on the dress to confirm the job. I love Lori. She is seriously a genius seamstress. She took my sample dress in desperate need of fixing and turned it into exactly what I wanted. I took my son's cub scout uniform here to get come patches sewn on on Tuesday. I needed 2 patches on his jacket and then one patch on the pocket of his shirt. The place is run by Lori and her daughter. Never met Lori, but her daughter was very nice. So, I dropped the stuff off and picked it up Friday after work on the way to our camping trip. For the 3 patches, it cost $16. More than what I expected to pay, but since I didn't want the pocket sewn where you can't use the pocket, they charged $10. Oh well, I needed it done. The place and the people were nice but it's somewhat expensive. Maybe next time I'll learn how to sew it myself.... read more

I want to say that Lori has been doing alterations for me for almost 40 years now. She's the best !! Whether it's been hemming my pant's or dresses, etc. I wouldn't change to anyone else! She even made my sister's wedding dress almost from scratch. Just ask her how many brides maid dresses she's done at once! Back in the 70's she made me slacks & vest from scratch too; & some of them even had coats to go with them; & if you need proof, & they were made with such good quality, I still have them.lol.... :-} She also helped fix the hems on our drapes, & many other things through the year. I discovered Lori's Tailors around last Thanksgiving and have been going to her for all my alteration needs! She is very attentive at what you want done and how you want it. Lori makes sure she finishes everything done the day it is promised, and she does an amazing job at what she does. I would highly recommend her for your alternation needs if you live in the valley area. She is also very very reasonable on giving prices for her work. I took several pairs of pants to be hemmed (ruined). Lori insisted on making one leg shorter than the other and all the pants were unwearable after hemming since one leg was so short. She doesn't work well with knits (hems are not nicely done). read more
