I tried the Phelan location the other day and ordered the enchilada plate. Waitress was not very friendly. I asked if we could get chips and salsa with the meal. She said she would bring us some. You have to ask if you want chips and salsa. As I looked at the food on my plate, I realuzed it was not appealing. The enchiladas looked like rolled up inner tubes instead of corn tortillas The taste was canned sauce with way too much salt. While I pondered about eating this mess, I remembered the chips and salsa. They waitress did bring the chips and I noticed tbey were shinning from the grease. I will never go back. read more

I love this place, i come several times a week for my breakfast burrito that they make anytime of day or night. They are open till 12am every night and 2am on a couple, no other restaurant in this town stays open past 10pm, which sucks for anyone that doesn't get off till 10pm or later. I had the audacity to ask where the napkins were, and with a sigh she went over and grabbed some from behind the counter and slammed them down without a word. Never a smile or a thank you. What more can I say other than this is the "worst Mexican food in Phelan". If Taco Bell can put you to shame then you shouldn't be opening another Latin food establishment in a town that is already inundated with them especially if all of them are good except for Mexico Lindo. As the negative review stated from another unfortunate customer there is a distinct smell of sewage emanating from the inside of this restaurant. They try to mask it with bleach and other cleaning detergents/deodorizers but they can't cover it up. Okay, now to the food... I mean, dog food. I ordered the chili relleno plate. The chili and batter were okay but the cheese inside was greasy and disgusting. The sauce was bland, the rice which I took one bite of was a flavorless. The refried beans tasted worse than canned refried beans that were watered down with virtually no spices. My girl ordered the carnitas and carne asada sopes. Both meats were horrifically greasy with no flavor at all. The carne asada was so tough I contemplated taking my shoe off and eating it instead of the "car tire" they served us. Seriously, it took half a salt shaker and 4 hot sauces to make them halfway edible. The salsa bar was somewhat adequate but so small and poorly accessible only one person could serve themselves at a time. Shockingly the $1.45 drink refills are a joke too. I mean, don't you have to serve decent food and drinks to facilitate charging an extra $1.45 for a freakin refill? To add validity to the poor people that said they suffered some stomach and bathroom issues after eating their slop... guess what, my girlfriend and I did too. Needless to say, I don't foresee this place surviving in Phelan for long. This was the worst Mexican food I've ever had in my life. Thought I would give this new restaurant a try, to support some local business. Restaurant was cute and the people are friendly, but I was expecting it to be table service and it wasn't. It was like fast food, where you pick up your meal when it's done. But if two adults and one toddler is $30 to eat, I would hope that there would be tableservice. I ordered the pork Carnitas and the Carnitas were so dry, it was like chewing on beef jerky; no joke! I couldn't even eat it because that's how hard it was to chew the meat. I don't know how old it was, but it defiantly was not pork carnitas. Beans and rice were descent. I also ordered a quesadilla for my child and it was so squishy and greasy, it was as if they put it in the microwave to cook it. Unfortunately, I won't be going back. We tried this place around noon on a Thursday. I saw reviews about the unfriendly staff the lady we dealt with wasn't unfriendly or friendly more like a bump on a log that didn't want to be a work that day. As for the food I ordered the al pastor burrito no pico and add cheese to the inside. I got a flavorless burrito with pico and no cheese. My daughter ordered a side of rice and a side of beans, she got a cup of both mushed together. Flavorless and dry. My wife ordered the California burrito easy sour cream and hers was flavorless with tons of sour cream. It's sad because we enjoyed the hesperia location for years but this is definitely not the same. I give this place a year tops before closing the doors. Which is the last thing Phelan needs. I'll post my receipt to show our order reflected no pico and cheese requests. The cook apparently cooks it however he wants anyways. Thought I'd try it again... not happy...seems the main kitchen tools here are the microwave ovens. I'm pretty sure the enchilada sauce is right out of a big can. Guess they never heard of a salamander oven...as in a prior visit, the cheese was not fully melted in the enchilada, this makes me suspect that they use a processed cheese product. Not surprised by the food or service when a food place is open till 2am. One cashier lady is always rude (LateNightShift) looks and talks to you like your stupid. Was even told once I couldn't eat in the dinning room at 11pm because she didn't want to clean it up again when they are opened till 2am! The food is not great for the price. Pretty much its fast food crap. And the salsa bar has the most tasteless salsas I've ever had. I've given them a few chances and every time I get my hopes up! Grizzley carne. But last time we went. About a month ago. Not only was food stale and old. Service was bad and I heard one of the employees say horrible things I don't want to write, about a customer that was charged for 2 burritos in her order when she asked for one. She simply asked if prices had increased as they always order the same thing. One asked in Spanish of the other took the order. The other called customer a name and said she was lying. We my wife also got a little ill after easting. We let this go and decided to wait a while if ever go back. We were all craving Mexican food at home. (5 of us total). We ordered two taquito orders. 12 with everything. 5 cheese only. El pastor burrito. Bean and cheese. Carne asada fries and 2 asada sopes. My wife, my son and I all got sick. Son only slightly. But my wife and I were really bad. Very bloated and constipated. This was Thursday night. It's now Saturday morning. I'm still a little queezy. My wife is still horribly sick. I threw up all day yesterday. I actually want to go through BBB or FDA to file a complaint. Something is very wrong at this place now. And its so disappointing as we grew up in Los Angeles area. I have frequented this restaurant regularly since they opened here in Phelan. I order the same item every time substituting lettuce for rice, not minding an up charge because that's they way I want it. However tonight it seems the young lady on the phone was adamant that I could not make that substitution regardless of how many times I had made it in the past. I love the one in Victorville, but this one is terrible. The cashier is real sweet though, but that is not enough to keep this place from going on life support. One major change they need to do is fix the salsa. All of em are terrible, bland with no seasoning. Its not at all hot and I'm white! We decided to try this place out since they just opened yesterday in our little town. It was greatly disappointing!!!! The cashier was rude rude rude. Two of the first three items we ordered were not avail. Well, one was out and the other was "going to take us too long to prepare so we aren't letting people order it". Why the heck do you put an item on the menu that you aren't willing to prepare for your customers? How long can it possibly take to prepare a shrimp cocktail? The front staff barely speaks English so communication was not great. We waited for over 15 min for fast food. The girl who was at the counter just put the food on the counter and expected people to guess if it was their food. She finally began calling out order #s but her English was so broken that it was difficult to know if it was your number. Now on to the food.... it was terrible!! We ordered chips and salsa and the chips were all stuck together, fried into a huge triangle lump. The salsa doesn't qualify as salsa anywhere, as I t was only lumps of cilantro with some chopped onion and one or two chucks of the ends of a tomato. It was disgusting. The carnitas were overly greasy and hard as a rock. I couldn't bite through them and even tried to cut through them but that proved in vain. The beef taco was very greasy and the shell was misshapen and broken. The chicken taco was dry and over cooked. The salsa bar had some potential but most lacked flavor. The only great thing in the salsa bar was the pickled carrots. Those were good. All in all, I would say don't waste your money or your time. You can get better tacos and burritos at Taco Bell or Del Taco...or better yet, go to the best place for this kind of food.....King Taco. Update: The food had some bad effects on our stomachs, so we each spent some time, in the "thinking room", regretting this horrible meal. Just a warning!!! read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant. The first impression was a funky smell as we walked in. This restaurant has a counter - so you order and then find a table. The food is bland and needs some good seasoning. We ate in the heat. Apparently they didn't realize that it's 90 degrees outside! The restroom was dirty and the floor was sticky. There isn't much interaction with the people that work there. You pick up your food and sit down. The atmosphere is radio station noise not Mexican music. I've tried this place 3 times. I first tried the Machaca burrito. It was good, but not great. They had only been open a couple of days and I always give at least two chances. I'm glad I did. Next I ordered a #5 (taco and enchilada with rice and beans). It was very good! The last time I went it was Cinco de Mayo and they were very busy. I had heard they had great carne asada fries so I decided to try them. They were great! If you want a sit-down place with a server, try one of the other places in town. -black friday food poisoning special- highly not advised... my girlfriend and i ordered togo shrimp burritos rice / beans to go last night 29 november 2019 at 1800hrs totaling $25. after waiting over 30mins for the 2 people working to prep the order, 3hrs later she became violently ill complete w/ projectile vomiting all night and i had severe diarrhea lasting all night through morning. she is still sick. very sick. i met w/ the owners son on scene this morning to simply report this to him in person simply so no one else would become so ill... i was met w/ a verbally combative attitude and he asked me "what do you want me to do about it?" really??? he hesitantly offered to refund $15 of the $25 order stating the "rice and beans could not have made you guys sick nor the horchata, we don't make those here. but the shrimp, well ya..." how's about the er bill buddy? what about that? recommendation- if you value your health or the health of your loved ones, i would highly advise against eating at this establishment. i will be quick to report this restaurant to the board of health. they could have handled this correctly and politely but chose not to. read more

I've now been to this place four times for food to go. My order has been made correctly two of the four. The first time I ordered an all meat chili verde burrito, and when I got home and started eating I soon discovered it was a chili relleno burrito with absolutely no meat at all. On my last visit I ordered two breakfast burritos with beans, no beans were in the burrito. This time I chose to return the burritos for the correct ones. The gentleman behind the counter said, "no problem, I'll make you new ones." After my short trip home it didn't take long to figure out he only remade one of the burritos. I just dont understand all the negative reviews for this place. My husband and I go at least once a week and we love it. The staff are friendly and helpful, they will deliver your meal to your table as long as they are not swamped with customers ordering. The food is definitely good. I like their tacos and my husband likes their burritos. One taco is enough to fill me up and I usually cant finish it. The carnitas is my favorite. If I am in the kitchen rummaging through, looking for something to cook for dinner, my husband will say, let's go get a taco. It is convenient, tasty, and a good price. I too experienced the smell and unfortunately the inferior Mexican food... you see, I'm Hispanic and I expect a place with a name like Los Alazanes to serve at least "good" Mexican food. I ordered a taquito plate to be on the safe side. Wrong. They must have pre fried them and the retried them. I was unable to chew them and gave the to my husband who is not real picky about his food. Sorry he couldn't chew them either. To ad insult to injury the taco was the same. No idea why everyone is griping. This place is REALLY good! Have been there a few times and haven't been disappointed. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Getting the food was a bit slower than expected but that's because it's not pre-made. The cashiers haven't been overly friendly but not rude, either. Not going there to make make a new friend, just have good food - and they deliver! Complaining about the accents of the workers in this restaurant seems pretty ridiculous. read more
