I just went here today for the first time after hearing about them since I had an appointment in Burbank. I didn't want to deal with the crowds at Portos. I got a Cubano and some sweet breads and let me tell you it was so freaking good. Also, I got the dulce de Leche Besitos. And they were twice as large as the ones at Portos and dare I say, even better. They are supposed to close at 7 according to Yelp but apparently they close at noon at least today, so luckily, I got there 10 minutes before. The prices are very affordable as well. I always go in for their pan dulce on the weekends. It's been my go to for a while now. I haven't found a bakery with the same taste besides Porto's. I believe the owner of this place use to work there. He converted this into a mini Porto's. The place is small but since it's always an in and out experience it's okay with me. It's clean and organized. Nothing to complain about plus everyone is helpful and accommodating. If they've ran out of my favorite breads, the will make a fresh batch and it's ready as early as 20 mins. I literally live for their flan. SO AMAZING! I love their conchas and everything is fresh and sanitary. I would definitely give 5 stars, but lately I've been disappointed in their hours. They say they are open but sometimes they are completely closed. I went the 7/5/19 not even the 4th of July and their hours were open since it was around 11 and the would close at 2 but I got there and there was no one and it was lights out with chairs up so I knew they were closed and not just for lunch. I have driven past this bakery a thousand times and just stopped there by chance. What a find! An amazing hole in the wall bakery where everything is fresh and delicious! The potato balls and cheese rolls here are far better than Porto's! The tamales, only available on weekends, are also excellent. The employee that helped was very nice and efficient. This is a great spot, I always get my bolillos hot and fresh. I love the fact that they have Pan Integral (sugarless sweet bread). I try their tamales this weekend and they were really good, I specially love the fact that they are moist. I usually go to Lupitas for my tamales craving so is nice to have a closer place. They try to make the similar bread to another famous bakery in Glendale, not the same bread but at least I avoid the long line and the whole hour I waste going over there. read more

Today I had a meatball sandwich craving. On my way to try a new place, I remembered that there was a sandwich shop I have been wanted to try, but keep forgetting to check them out. I see the sign nearly everyday taking my son to school or karate. I walked in and was surprised to see how cozy the bakery was. I love their simple sandwich menu. I ordered two media noche sandwiches, potatoes balls and a few pastries. I was ready to compare the media noche and potatoes balls to the other famous Cuban place in Burbank. However there was no match! The meat in the potatoes balls had such flavor no ketchup was needed. They were plump and perfectly made in texture. The media noche was delicious. Meat was tender and the sandwich was made with pride. I'm a Jersey native and having food from here, tasted as if I had gone to a Cuban family friends house. I will definitely be back for my Cuban sandwich fixes. I'm giving them 4 stars for food quality and customer service. What a gem! This bakery is at the top of my list. Where do I start? The staff is incredible and generous. I don't think I've ever met friendlier business owners. They put in so much time and effort into their cakes. The level of precision that goes into making them Just Right and perfect for the client is remarkable. It has been a long time since I have had this (I'm a vegetarian) but I remember their chicken and carne asada tacos being so. damn. good. The items I love the most now has to be the cheese danish. No I change my mind it's the conchas, dipped in hot chocolate. No no it's the chocolate croissant! Ugh I can't decide. Everything is so damn good at Los Almendros. We had also purchased some of the Cuban bread and we had to replace all the bread. The Cuban crackers were wonderful. Placed an order to pick up baptism cake at 7am and was there early. I waited until 7am and after 20 more minutes of them stalling the daughter asks if they can drop off the cake later because the cake won't be done until 1 hour later. I was furious due to me driving so far and paying for the cake upfront weeks before. The daughter stated the cake messed up and they needed to redo the words... When explaining to them how upset I was and how this wasted my time and gas the mother says in her poor English , " We never told you to come at 7." Me: "Are you serious?!" I responded with such anger due to my event starting at 9am and no one would of been able to pick up the cake being that it is so far! Why do they even ask what time do I need the cake then? I walked out and they called back 40 minutes later stating they will drop off the cake. I was speechless when I saw the cake. First off the name was misspelled.I thought to myself why did they even bother to try fixing it? It looked so sloppy as if they didn't even try to fix it. The daughter even stated they use fonts online and print it on rice paper? Check out the picture I will post of the cake. I ordered a Trolls-themed cake for my daughter's birthday and was advised that the figures/cake toppers would be pretty expensive. I decided to get my own but expected the cake to somewhat look like a troll cake based on the colors. When I picked it up, even my daughter was disappointed. She said "this is not a Troll cake!" They said that the colors I requested did not taste good and said it was too late to do anything about it. They should have told me that when I ordered it not when it was too late. I was visibly upset and they gave me some free bread to make up for the messed up cake. I doubt I will order cake from there again. read more

What a great little place. It's no frills, you can tell it's family run and they have limited staff. So I wouldn't go with a time crunch. The sandwiches are excellent. They have real CUBAN bread!! You read that correctly, REAL CUBAN BREAD! The cuban and pork sandwich was amazing. We got some croissants and pastries for breakfast during the week and they are still fresh and delicious. None of the pastries are too sweet. When we went, they must've just opened, because I was hoping for more selection of pastries like the yummy tiramisu that was pictured. I didn't take the coke that comes with the sammie and they threw in a pumpkin pie instead - WIN! I will def be back and I will be putting in a big order of cuban sammies when folks come to visit. My first time at this location. I was randomly looking for a last minute rosca de reyes. I received the best customer service. The bread was so soft and fresh unlike the mass produce stores that make too many and goes stale. I also tried the flan which was one of the best I have had in a long time. The conchas are amazing, they have super fine flower and the sugar to make the toppings also seemed super fine. I have to admit I am not a guava lover. I like sweet cheese Danishes, chocolate croissants, ect. This bakery is absolutely my favorite one in my area. They always have great tasting quality food! My personal favorite is there pastrami sandwiches. There other sandwiches are always amazing and made fresh. My favorite part about the bakery is there seasonal pumpkin pie which is to die for!!! They run out fast so be sure to place and order if your looking for some for the holidays you won't be disappointed. And the bread is so amazing it's always nice soft and warm. No don't get me started on the cakes. The coffee cakes they have year round are perfect and very light. If you ever need a cake for a special occasion or birthday give them a call and the details and they'll have it ready for you. They never dissapiont me, I always call them to make cakes for my grandma and they come out beautiful.
