HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would give it Zero Stars if I could. I thought this place was a place where I can go with friends and Relax with a good Game but I guess not. I called to ask if they rent out clubs since I would be taking a few friends with me that have never played golf before and the Man that picked up told me that he doesn't want me to bring anyone who can't play. That he didn't want to deal with our lack of skill on the course. I've played for many years and I'm most certain that me and my friends would not have caused any disturbance at all. My friends may be unskilled in the game but it's Golf, one of the easiest games to learn. Also most of my friends have played before it's only 1 out of the 4 of us who hasn't so we could have still gone through the course as normal with us all supporting him. And I told this to the man on the phone and he kept saying he didn't want us to come and that he wouldn't take our appointment. PLEASE AVOID THIS GOLF COURSE!!! They don't deserve our money and support if they aren't willing to encourage new players to the game. read more

The greedy a-holes who run this place have decided in their infinite wisdom to return to the archaic pre-Covid tradition of using 7 minute tee times on a weekend and now at 9:00 am on a Saturday there are five groups waiting to tee off the first hole. This place is such a hell hole.... Poor customer service, and management.... Spend your 62.00 somewhere else, its not worth the time or the money.... The grumpy female cashier, Brooke I think her name is had a nasty attitude. Pace of play is 6 hours on a Sunday, fairways are non existent, and the greens are crap. No one repairs divitos, and there are too many people jumping holes. No one waves up on par 3s and they allow a group of 5 smh. Good course it's pretty average nothing overly special but it's always in good condition.

I just had my 60th birthday celebration at Los Amigos. I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Marie was exceptional in getting down our requests to the last personal detail! She was always pleasant and professional. That trickled down to the staff who were on the ball making sure our guests were happy and comfortable. Food was good. The room was elegant and spacious with a nice sized dance floor. Earlier in the process of planning the party I was a little apprehensive of the venue because I had read some reviews that were less than glowing. But those reviews were prior to the new management, and everything went off without a hitch! I strongly recommend this venue! You wont be disappointed! read more

The venue was perfect for a large Baby Shower on Saturday. Great Service, staff was great and very friendly. Frank was there making sure everything was served on time (he was courteous) The food was delicious and fresh. We decorated the venue and it looked amazing. Los Amigos Golf Course has definitely improved, since my last round circa 2008. Played a "scouting" round with my usual golf buddies. Here's my assessment: Fairways - nice coverage - very few bare spots Rough - pretty forgiving - trees are not an issue unless your tee shot is way off line Sand Traps - got into a few that weren't raked - got up and down anyways, as the sand is in great shape Club House and Amenities - Bar with sitting area, and a separate dining room can accommodate large groups This course is on par with Rio Hondo - pardon the pun. Prices for this course are excellent for the quality of golfing experience. The signature hole with water and wood bridge is a classic risk/reward hole. I took the risk and was rewarded with a double bogey. Contact Irene Yi at the golf course office to arrange a tournament. We will definitely consider having our next tourney here. read more

This place is one of the worse places to have an event. Was there for a wedding last week. The staff was unprofessional. Poor service quality. Horrible food, bar tenders were using Minute Maid juice for margaritas. Double charging on credit cards of guest. The service the staff provided was mediocre. You get what you paid for at this facility. The younger servers who look like they were in high school would remove your food while eating and out their hands in front of you. Attended a lovely dinner banquet hosted by St. Pius Matthias at this location. We were served a 3-course meal: a simple salad, a chicken/mashed potatoes/vegetable main dish & a peach cobbler for dessert. The whole dinner was simple yet elegant. The servers were quick to refill water or soda pitchers placed on the tables. The restrooms were clean & well stocked and right outside the banquet hall for the ultimate convenience. I had no hand in the planning process so I have no opinions on that side of the equation, but as a guest, it was a very nice set-up. read more

My friend who lives nearby always celebrates his birthday or other special occasions here at the reception room or the bar. There's always parking available but I feel the parking lot is a bit too dark, they do have a security guard. There's plenty of room to sit down in the bar area and socialize, but the music sometimes is blaring at disco level. The bar has big screen TVs and they were showing a boxing match that night I was there. read more

Beware of all the gnats!!! Got a few in my eyes and even tasted some!! moving carts are dangerous. They are seriously everywhere. course is in subpar conditoin, but for what you pay, i guess you get what you pay for. greens were extremely slow. The green was so thick. I think it was hole#9 which was particularly interesting. they moved the green to the middle of the fairway and made the hole extra large to compensate for the uneven greens. fun hole to play. different. ridiculous at the same time. the last 3 holes were interesting with water coming into play. #16 is tricky with a dogleg left and water coming into play. i was playing well until this hole. It screwed me up big time with a quadruple bogey. =( pro shop is, well, not really a proshop. there's nothing there except a few golf balls and gloves. haha. don't expect much. read more

Came to play here for the first today. It wasn't the best well maintenance course but it was fun overall. Great place to play for beginners (like myself) due to their wide fairways. If you have a slice like I do there's a lot of space to keep you in play. read more

No marshal, no starter, groups as big as 10 are allowed. This course blows the only good thing here is the beer, waited 30 minutes just to tee of then another 30 to hit my 2nd. Had my baby shower at Los Amigos this weekend and it was everything I could've wanted and more. Yolie was awesome from start to finish and her crew was amazing. The servers took care of everything we needed and were always attentive to our needs. Setup was beautiful and I had so many compliments on the food!!! Terrible service from the front, prioritized late people when checking in for tee times.

Things are improving. An actual clipboarded starter on the first tee who acts as a marshal too. Had a couple 5somes ahead of us, mostly walkers, and things moved along nicely. Good job Amigos. read more

Do not play this course if you want a quick round! My friend and I had a tee time at 1 on a Saturday. We didn't tee off until 1:40 because there were 2 groups ahead of us that had not teed off yet. Our round ended around 6:30 and we had to wait on almost every hole. The course conditions were awful as well. read more

WORST GOLF COURSE EVER! Horrible rude staff who were being out of line during covid. They don't say anything on their site about sharing a set of clubs but when me and my brother were about to play they refused to let us - wasted our entire day for this flop of a place. Not to mention semi-racist vibes because there didnt seem to be an issue until a black friend showed up. They didn't allow us to rent a set either because of covid - so we had no choice. Yolanda was a pleasure to work with since the beginning of our contract. My fiancé and I booked our event 2 years prior and we were given a good price. Anything or any questions I needed, her or Brenda were there to help. Our wedding was this past Saturday and everything went smoother than expected. Yolanda was very attentive and offered me food before the ceremony. Brenda was on top of the coordination and even ensured that my veil looked nice before walking down the aisle. Yes, 2 stars but in a good way. Nice medium style course. The back 9 is actually pretty fun. The club house and restaurant needs a lot of tlc. Can't beat the $20 after 1pm twilight rate. Good mix of long and short holes. So it's not fancy, greens and fairways need to be better kept, but I recommend playing here. Pretty wide open for the slicers out there. read more

I've always liked Los Amigos for pretty enjoyable round. Played here Saturday, March 7th in a small tournament. Course was in great shape, I thought. Greens were good, bunker sand is great, and tee boxes and fairways were pretty good. My only gripe is that they continue to allow 5-somes. We had a group of 5 walkers tee-off right ahead of our Tournament. No clue why they continue to allow this to happen. There was nobody behind our last group for 3 holes-back. This particular group of walkers caused our round to go almost 6 hours. We could've finished in 4.5 if it weren't for them. Unbelievable. Ruined a perfectly nice day for everyone. STOP ALLOWING 5-SOME WALKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Won't be playing here any longer on weekends, sadly. read more

If I could give negative stars I so would. This review is only for their facilty used for a wedding. " We pride ourselves on creating flawlessly-executed events tailored to your taste and budget" (directly taken from their website) can be far from what they actually execute. Even though there have been some noticeable upgrades and remodeling to the banquet room it's a shame their "event planning specialist" are below par. Wedding planning can become stressful and overwhelming at times and when you put all your trust and not to mention pay thousands of dollars to have your special event go flowlessly you expect perfection, all that you asked for and was promised. I was asked to help my best friends brother with wedding planning. They had already chosen this facilty when I came on board so the first thing I wanted to do is visit the location, go over the details and contract with their "event planning specialist". I think I took the "event planning specialist" by surprise all I knew about wedding planning again im not a professional event planner or coordinator but I have an eye and type of personality that likes to plan events. I'm very particular about itineraries and a vendor list so your on schedule and those responsible for a particular job get it done. That was one of the first things that was asked to be provided by we were told that we would have one and it would be done one month before the wedding. We were told we would have the following: *An itinerary along with vendor input sheet *Specialty linens which would be provided at extra cost *A PA system with mic *day of event coordination *table number set up *be allowed to set up the day before the event Three weeks before the wedding the bride was freaking out because there was yet to be a call from her "event planning specialist". A couple of days before the event the bride was told that the specialty linen she wanted was not available due to that specific vendor no longer having it so the bride settled for a satin linen for the sweetheart table. When we went to set up the day before the wedding the linen needed for the sweetheart table was not delivered yet. We were told it would be delivered the day of the event. Of course the bride was freaking out. After we talked to the "head event planning specialist" and basically told her we were told that all would be ready to set up and that this was not acceptable. She tried to make it seem like it was the vendors fault, she then gave us the option on having the vendor deliver it that same day and paying for a rushed delivery WTF are you kidding me. She was told there is no way the bride would pay for something that should have been done. She then called the vendor and the vendor said we could go to her house and pick it up really OMG how unprofessional can the vendor be. The bride went and picked up the linen just in time to finish setting up. The day of the event I arrived to find the bride in a hot, no air conditioning bridal suite, the outside favor table yet to be set up and no "event planning specialist" to be found. As the ceremony was occurring the PA system was not plugged in making it hard to hear the ceremony and while the ceremony is taking place their workers were setting up for another event, causing noise, glassware being broken and set-up noise just plainly disturbing what is suppose to be the most important part of a wedding. Following the wedding, myself, a few family members and grooms men had to take down the flowers and decor setup because after paying this venue thousands of dollars they do not help with take down and trasport of the outside decor to be brought in. According to the "event planning specialist" their employees are busy doing other stuff. Again thousands of dollars were paid get some of your workers to help with take down outside decor and bringing it in if there will be a gazebo ceremony. The "event planning specialist" wouldn't even lend me a cart to help transport the decor and flowers. When the ceremony was over guests stood around not knowing where to go. Again where was the "event planning specialist". After guest figured out where to go and looked up their table number they couldn't have a seat why? Because the "event planning specialist" had yet to place the table numbers! Really they had all morning and even time during the ceremony to do it.During cocktail hour what was supposed to be passed about h'ordorves was pretty non existent. An actual whole table collapsed causing a tall glass flower filled centerpiece to fly off the table and shatter. The servers were very friendly and professional. Steer clear of this place spend your hard earned money for the most special day of your life were they pride themselves on making your day special. read more

3 stars for the clubhouse being fairly nice but the course itself is one of the lower quality 18 holes in SoCal imo. Rio Hondo is infinitely better and worth the extra 10 bucks. The fairways are very dry and no not adequately reward a good shot. Greens were ok but course layout is very well defined. Good place for high handicappers as fairways are fairly wide and run next to each other. Not enough options locally. read more

I work as an attorney across the street and have been frequenting Los Amigos Golf Course almost daily since June of 2012. Since new management has taken over the course, namely GM Mike Shank, I find myself at the range and playing rounds of golf more and more. The improved quality of the course began at the driving range, with fresh, clean, fairway-like grass to hit balls off of. The quality extends through each hole on the course as well as on the greens. The new staff has been more than friendly and accommodating as well. The new deals being offered on range balls and rounds of golf have also been great. When I first began frequenting the range last year, I met Mike Williams (http://www.yelp.com/biz/mike-williams-golf-instructor-downey) whose swing instruction has improved my game beyond words. In just a few short months I went from shooting over 100 to consistently playing in the low 90s. I've taken lessons since I was 14 years old and haven't seen nearly as much improvement in 15 years as I have seen in the last few months with Mike. Thankfully Mike is still around with the new ownership. Without him there, I wouldn't frequent the course as much as I do. I couldn't be more impressed with the changes at Los Amigos. I grew up as a member at Rolling Hills Country Club in Palos Verdes and am actually starting to feel more at home at Los Amigos. It's a county course with country club quality. read more

3.5 stars. But I'm willing to round it up to 4. I'm not sure why this course gets such low ratings. Well it looks like some of the reviews have nothing to do with the golf course itself. Anyway, my review is for the golf course only. I actually enjoy playing here. I've played here 2 or 3 times and the last time I was there (9/3), fairways were green and even the rough was in pretty good condition. Fairways are wide, so even if your drive doesn't go straight, there is a good chance you can still end up on the fairway. Rough is not too deep, which makes this course a lot more forgiving than other courses. Greens are not too challenging. BUT I think a lot of the golfers here lack the golfer etiquette, tons of ball marks on the green!!! It drives me crazy, it only takes 10 seconds to fix them!! How could people be so lazy or ignorant... Pace of play on Saturday morning was pretty good. We were done in less than 5 hours. Not bad for a muni course on weekends. I too think the back 9 is more fun. All in all, if you want a fairly easy, flat, wide, walkable course, this is your course. Water comes in play in 3 holes (I think). For ladies, it can be a little bit more challenging, because the ladies tee are only like 10 - 20 yards forward of the regular tee.
