We've been on the lookout for new Taco Tuesday spots and this one was really close by. This is definitely the cheapest spot for tacos! At around ~$1/taco it's unbeatable. They are on the smaller side but they absolutely load up each taco with meat. They have a red and green sauce and both are delicious and have a good kick that pairs perfectly. When we came in there was a line but it moved fairly quickly and the food came out almost just as fast. It's near both Cal Poly and Mt. Sac so there were definitely a lot of students which I take as a good sign because it means the food is good and cheap. I'm giving it 4 stars because on Taco Tuesday there is really just one woman taking all the orders and the cooks in the back so the trash can was way overfilled with no one available to take it out. There were seats inside but it's not meant for large groups. I did appreciate that the parking lot had lots of spots as well. read more

My friends chili relleno plate came out cold, and she asked the gentleman at the front counter to be heated up and kindly said he would make her a new one while I had my food in front of me. I started to slowly eat my food, and the gentleman came out with a plate of enchiladas for my friend while she waited for her initial order after a few minutes, he brought us a dessert for the inconvenience. This guy went above and beyond for the inconvenience. Truly great customer service. This is hard to find nowadays. read more

Family owned local Mexican joint serving cheap, tasty food. Tacos are 89 cents plus tax on Tuesdays for the basic meats, but the lengua, birria, and cabeza are also have reduced prices. Ordered for pickup on the phone and the order was ready in 10 minutes. They do take credit card and there is a small parking lot. Given the current covid environment, it was nice that there was a hands-free card reader and you didn't need to sign/press anything. The meat is really tasty (though I'll caveat that by saying al pastor can be hit or miss). My main qualm is that they skimp on meat quite a bit. The nachos are generous with the chips, and they're double layered chips. They have red and green salsas; the red is spicier, while the green is your straightforward salsa verde. read more

Service was GREAT! However, food would have also been great if it wasn't for the amount of salt used on everything. From chips to chicken in the chicken tacos. We went in with a large group, all commented on how salty the food was. I ordered 3 chicken tacos, I only ate one bcz I have high blood pressure . Maybe it was a bad night for them. Horrible customer service, especially on Tuesdays after 5:00. You have to repeat call like a crazy person to get them to answer every damn Tuesday. Bro finally answers, has me hold for 10 minutes then hangs up the call then shuts off the phones. .89/taco isn't worth this headache anymore. Will never go back again and I've been going for years. Pretty good for a neighborhood taco spot. From what I saw on Yelp, this is the place to go for some simple street tacos. They have an 89 cents Taco Tuesday deal that gets you more tacos than you can eat in one sitting and the quality is pretty damn good depending on what you get. I tried the chicken, carne asada, cabeza, fish, and shrimp tacos today. The chicken and carne asada were both a little too dry for my liking but the cabeza and fish tacos were both tender and delicious. The shrimp tacos cost the regular $1.89 each but it was lightly breaded and the pico de gallo and tartar sauce were a good complement. I would definitely come back for the cabeza and shrimp tacos. The nachos here are a little weak, definitely light on the cheese and guacamole compared to many places I've gone to... but for Taco Tuesdays, Los Amigos got my endorsement! read more

Arrived @ 1040am on a Sunday morning. There was no menudo available for dine in or take out. The restaurant dine in attendance at this time was 1/3 to capacity. Totally unacceptable! The restaurant serves menudo only on the weekends. I strongly suggest to make more stock on these two days for your weekend patrons. If your weekend processes don't change and improve immediately I will stop dining there and recommending your restaurant to our community. read more

Ordered food I think delivered from here so met my niece here. Very low prices. Very authentic food. Have the steak and eggs with these small cubed potatoes which were really good. The steak was $12. But I thought it was a sufficient portion. They have drinks and bottles Mexican Coke and tamarind. The place is really small. Most people take it to go. But we got a small corner and ate and visited for a little while. It was getting very busy by the time we left. I definitely want to try it again. Probably to go. For the longest time, Taco Tuesdays are $0.89 a taco which is a great price for the freshness and tastiness of the food. My family always gets the fish, chicken, and carnitas tacos, and the quality doesn't vary. Our favorite is the fish because of the crunchy red cabbage, the light tartar sauce, and the fresh pico de gallo which all work wonderfully with the lightly battered fish. The onion and cilantro on the chicken and carnitas tacos are also always a hit. They also give green and red salsa upon request. Parking is super easy and if you get there around 11:30 AM on Tuesday you'll miss the lunch rush and don't have to wait in line! read more

I came in to order around noon on a Friday. I ordered an asada fries and 6 tacos. There were only two orders before mine. After 12 minutes and a few other customers after me were served, they told me they were going to make the asada fries now. I'm not sure why it took them so long. 15 minutes after, they told me they were out of one kind of taco I ordered. By that time, the restaurant was empty besides me. I finally got my whole order at 12:20 pm. There were 4 chefs in the kitchen and a server out front. It takes awhile to get your food if you order a large asada fries. read more

There's not many places around here that offers both Cabeza and French Fries, and I decided to try this place out today. I ordered the Carne Asada fries and had originally request to ADD Cabeza, but they only gave me cabeza only, no carne asada, which is still OK as long as the cabeza was there cause I'm currently obsessed with cabeza. The fries were thin cut fries, just how I like them, and comes with pico de Gallo, sour cream, and guac! It was delicious. Only complaint are their hot sauces! Both green and red sauces were very watery, flavorless, and not spicy at all ! I feel like hot sauce also plays an important factor when it comes to Mexican food. Great family-owned restaurant! I love the vibe in here. You can tell the people working there are part of a family, with the parents in the back making the tacos and such. It's such a welcoming environment. Everyone's smiling and the synergy is great! I usually come on Tuesdays for their 89 cent Taco Tuesdays. I'll admit, I'm not much of a taco fan, but with that price and the speed that they roll out the orders, I still make a point to come at least once a month. I hate giving one star reviews but this one is a must! If you like Water down flavorless food then come here! I ordered menudo and it honestly Tasted like water soup! I also ordered eggs with chili verde and that looked like some poured water into it. The sauce had zero flavor but the bright side is that the meat was tender! These two items cost about 18 bucks. Due to Covid, I didn't dine in but ordered out. My Postmate was awesome but the meal really was splendid! What a rich body of flavors and it was so fully expressed, I was impressed. Away from my usual hunting grounds, I didn't have a good Taco spot for this Tuesday and my sister suggested Los Amigos to me because I enjoy more authentic Mexican flavors. I ordered three tacos: al pastor, carne asada, and pollo. The carne asada was nicely cut meat, the pollo was in larger and juicer chunks than I had expected, and the al pastor was nicely spiced with many flavors that bloomed on my tongue. My prize was asking for extra onion and cilantro which made the tacos yummier and the green and red sauce pushed my drool levels even higher. I loved these tacos and I can't wait to come back to try more flavors! It was unfortunate that I wasn't given the Taco Tuesday price but perhaps I ordered too early in the day... I also ordered the steak fajitas! Thankfully, there were more veggies than meat especially since the meat was overcooked to the point I didn't want to eat it. But the veggies were delicious and there were enough tortillas for me to have a full and pleasant meal without eating the charred steak. Hopefully, next time, none of my meat will be overcooked! My husband and I come to this place for breakfast once a week. The quality of food is not as good as before. My husband and I ordered the same thing every week but the portion is different, the ingredients is different and the way they serve the food is different every time. I came here for taco Tuesday and some of their tacos are 89cents! Each taco comes with a decent amount of meat and two tortillas topped with onions and cilantro. The beef tongue had a good texture but needed salsa to give it more flavor. The asada tacos were probably my favorite because of all the juices coming from the meat. I love me oily tacos! The el pastor tacos were also good and came with a lot more meat than the rest of them. This place can get pretty crowded since there's only one person taking orders.
