When I get in the mood for something, and it becomes a craving, then I need to have it two or three days in a row. Sometimes it is Sushi, sometimes is a frozen strawberry margarita...this week it was ribeye steak sandwiches. I go to different places to get variations on the theme, and this weekend, while I was at my second location for the ribeye, I prefaced dinner with an American shrimp cocktail- and that is what set me on the path for this weeks' adventure. Tonight I came here and had a variation- the local version of shrimp cocktail, and it was awesome! It came served in a large glass goblet and was packed with medium sized shrimp. There was also freshly chopped onions, parsley, celery and avocado swimming in Clamato. The mix was spiced but not spicy and there was an assortment of hot sauce bottles on the table to kick it up to you personal preference- perfect! The cocktail was so fresh and light, but also satisfying; it is a perfect summer evening bite! The service was excellent; when they saw I did not speak Spanish, the head waitress immediately came over and took care of me making sure I had a great dining experience; I will definitely be back. Guess what? I found Los Cabos on Yelp! A friend from Brazil was in El Paso and she wanted seafood. I'm really glad I found Los Cabos. I'm not much of a seafood person but she is so I brought her here. I got the shrimp cocktail. It was very tasty. It included cucumbers, avocado and cilantro. It had plenty of shrimp in it. Sometimes you don't get enough at certain places but here you do! They also add celery and onion but I said no to those. It's always sin cebolla (no onions) for me. I added some Valentina Hot Sauce and it tasted even better. The meal also comes with a bowl of fish soup or clam chowder. No thank you! I asked Maria (the waitress) if I could get a salad instead and she said yes. She was very nice about it. She also brought lots of crackers to us. The service with Maria was excellent. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. I think we sort of bonded because she's from the same part of Mexico where my great grandmother was born, Michoacan. The meal started off with some tostadas and salsas. The salsas weren't spicy at all but it was a good snack. I don't remember what my friend ordered but she said she loved it. This is El Paso's hidden gem! You can find good, authentic Mexican food almost anywhere here. However, this night I wanted seafood and this place delivered! Fried Red Snapped and Shrimp & rice soup was amazing! Heck even the garlic bread was perfectly buttered and toasted. If you drink beer- great special $7 for $7 daily. After seeing decent reviews on yelp I was on the West Side and ready to try something new. Seafood it is! The waiter was good, while young he was still able to attend to us while getting the appetizers ready in the back. Normally you have the kitchen staff (who may be short handed) prepare the apps in the back. We order the fried calamari which was obviously a frozen product dumped in fryer for quick service. The fries were good though . Sorry, back to the entrees, the oysters on the half shell came and were devoured immediately topped with the ceviche salsa, tabasco, and soy sauce. Oddly enough they are still not half bad when they are not cold...?? go figure. Fried fish and shrimp were good. Daughters chicken fajitas were bland. My shrimp tacos al pastor were spicy and good. The only gripe was the corn tortillas were a little cold and hard and we were charged a "credit service fee" of $2.70. $100 meal for 3. Well pass on that fee for your credit card processing to me. This place has to be one of my local favorites, the service is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. I would definitely be returning. I did not take a photo of the crab cocktail, it contains imitation crab not actual crab...so that was disappointing. We just moved here, so we're looking for a yummy Mexican restaurant, and we found it! The meal from start to finish was scrumptious! The portions were big! The prices are amazing! My husband and I both got delicious seafood for under $25!! The chips were delicious and well seasoned. They give you three different yummy salsas with your chips. I'm in love with the seafood salsa! Tonight my family and I came to Los Cabos for the first time. This restaurant specializes in Mexican seafood in a strip mall with ample parking. The restaurant was clean with a pleasant casual ambiance. The staff was very accommodating and provided excellent service. I went with four adults and we all tried different dishes. All the dishes were reasonably priced from about $9-14. There were breaded and grilled fish tacos for $9. I tried the grilled fish tacos which came with 3 tacos. The tacos were delicious and not greasy at all. Everyone else in our party had no complaints and also commented on how delicious their food was. The restaurant also provided complimentary chips, 2 salsas (red & green) and a seafood salsa. The seafood salsa had a combination of pico and fish that was so good I'll have to come back just for that again. If you're looking for awesome fish tacos or Mexican seafood this is hands down the best place to go in El Paso. It gets my 5 star rating for excellent food quality and friendly service. read more

I've never seen this place before but swore I've heard the name somewhere. I was starving and craving something delicious and saw some decent reviews here. I drove up and it doesn't look like much on the outside. So I was a bit concerned maybe I was tricked lol. Went inside though and its pretty decent looking, all tables and no booths but it was nice and cool inside. When I arrived not many were there. The staff immediately greeted me as I came in. My waitress, I believe Mari greeted me in spanish ...which for me is a good sign because its probably more authentic. They had a lot of mexican dancing songs playing but it wasn't blasted too loud. I placed an order for horchata (I wouldn't reccomend it though) Maybe I caught it too late because it tasted really watered down. Immediately after serving my drinks they brought complimentary chips and salsa. It was set up beautifully and super yummy! They even brought a little thing of fish ceviche with limes. I ordered the red snapper fried, its honestly pretty pricey but it does say market price on the menu and she was able to give me the price before ordering. They also have cheaper fish available if you don't want to choose the expensive amount, for example like tilapia. You get a few choices to pick from for your meal. French fries, mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or salad. I went with the mashed potatoes and salad. It also came with complimentary soup with my meal either clam chowder or fish soup. I went with the fish soup...the broth had okay flavor but there was literally no fish in my bowl LOL it had like two carrots, the broth, possibly celery. Just no fish to be found! Guess I can't complain since it was free, but I'd probably try something else next time. Also with the fried fish you get options on coating it with garlic or making it super spicy! Never had that option before, was pretty cool. The fish arrived as I was stuffing my face with the chips, salsa, and ceviche. It was beautifully plated omg. I had to take pictures! It all tasted great too, salad was fresh, the potatoes and rice were delicious! I'd definitely come back. I also ordered some aguachiles to go but haven't tried it yet but my waitress offered to pack more ceviche and salsa too! super awesome! Overall, I'd definitely come back again. The fish was honestly cooked perfectly and seasoned well! It reminds me a lot of Los Colegas but way calmer environment and the food was honestly way better in my opinion. I am originally from El Paso TX I always brag on there food but we were in the mood for sea food and ended up at this restaurant and it's the WORST food I had ever tried my husband ordered steak and shrimp it was horrible he sent it back and brought it back same way it was cold and the shrimp were chewy,I ordered the Tore for 25dlls said it was fresh sea food it looked like tuna out of a can .
