I try to be sensitive to not exaggerating in my reviews. I want to mean it when I say something is the worse I have ever had, something that rarely happens. However, this place really did have the worse street tacos I've ever eaten. I'll give them a slight break considering it was 10 o'clock on a Sunday night, which is not too long before closing I believe. So the food isn't going to be the freshest. I wasn't expecting the freshest food. I wasn't even expecting great food, although I was hoping. I just wanted something that tasted okay and would fill me up. What I got was stale tortilla and old chicken slopped together with a bit of onion and cilantro and a watery salsa. You could taste the age of the chicken; the meat was rubbery and tough. It tasted like it had been sitting out awhile and had hardened a bit. I won't be going back here. Maybe it was an isolated experience, but I don't want to risk it. There's places I can get tacos that taste better and are cheaper. Congrats, Los Chiles Locos. i hope you retain the title for a long time. read more

Had a snack attack, but only wanted 1 taco. Yes, just one taco. Pretty good for what it was. Carne Asada taco was good, but not anything spectacular. Just your basic, marinated meat, soft tortilla etc. Tacos are 75cents after 5pm with a purchase of a drink. Not bad, not bad. There's probably 5 parking spaces in that lot. Food is always delicious and juicy and flavorful. Service is AWESOME. Prices are extraordinarily cheap and you get a great bang for your buck! - After a certain time on certain days, their deals get much better. I come here every time I miss Mexican food. I'm not sure why most people do not see how wonderful this store is, but it has never let me down. What can I say? It's my neighborhood taco stand. I swing by once in a while if I dont feel like driving anywhere. Its located on a noisy corner in Monrovia on a small concrete hill where you can sit on some grimy benches or not. The deals arent that great, but they have a few for 5 bucks that might be worth trying out. The owner seems pretty cool. But thats all I can say about this place. read more

My alternative to King Taco. Although not quite as good, this place is respectable in its own right. It's better than most of the fast food Mexican food around the area and there is never a line. Some of the best tacos around. And hands-down the best ceviche in the area. Started going there while waiting for carwash to complete at the nearby carwash. Pretty soon became somewhat of a regular as the service is fast, the price is very affordable, and the food is great. The "main" attraction for us is probably the Ceviche tostadas, which are always very, very fresh (made from high-quality frozen tilapia) and extremely tasty. The tacos are always tasty (tried all the different ones except "Lengua"); the "aguas" never too sweet (my favorite is the hibiscus or "jamaica"). This place is on my way to work so I decided to stop. When ordering after I had placed my order I couldn't help but notice there is RAT TRAPS along the floor under the stove top where they cook the meat. I should have just left when I seen this but I already had paid and figured I would give them a chance. I ordered the Victoria's tostadas and 2 small Asada tacos. First id like to state that the tostadas consists of beans and carnitas ( I knew this ). I took a bite and right away I knew the meat had gone BAD. It smelled sour and taste off. I cook for a living so I know food. I went up and kindly told the guy in front ( little bit of hair light skin man ) what was wrong. And I said to him can I please just have a new tostada with just beans.. he was clearly very mad and with an attitude said I'll just give you your money back. Then threw the money on the counter and slammed the window in my face. ( guess he can't handle criticism ). The asada tacos were ok. Nothing delicious but nothing horrible either. Although the green salsa can use some flavor and the taco had a flavor of tap water. But I suppose that could maybe be the store bought tortillas not there fault. LOL. I've been here many times thats for sure. lol. !This is another spot to hit up after a late night of bar hoppin in arcadia/duarte/monrovia. =) Its open late and the tacos tastes delicious (after all the liquor consumption...anything tastes good) JITB across the street is closed =/ its not 24 hour...so this taco place is your best bet to catch some late night munchies then head back home. I usually get the carne asada tacos which are big, not tiny like the ones at King Taco, BUT...the meat is not as good as King Taco (in my opinion so far) its cheap, a fair deal...only a few dollars needed to get 2 tacos. My girlfriend ordered their Mojado Burrito and I saw them put the burrito in the styrofoam to-go box, sprinkled cheese on top, and popped the entire thing inside a microwave until I saw smoke coming out of it. Then I saw the two ladies try to move the burrito from what I assume is now a partially melted styrofoam box into a new box. Upon seeing that, I knocked on the window and told them I no longer wanted the burrito because after all, who wants to eat something that was nuked and transferred from a melted styrofoam box. She then tried to tell me that she was only trying to melt the cheese, which I totally understand, but you do not use a styrofoam box to heat up food that you are selling to customers. read more

I've passed by so many times and have always wanted to take advantage of their 50cent Taco deal but it was never within the hours of the promo. Tonight I made it in time. I ordered about 8 tacos to go. We hopped in the car, opened the box and ....Yuck! First, they looked dry and didn't smell good. I bit into the chilie Verde Taco and it was cold! Really? It was only a few steps away to my car from the pick up window. The chilie verde taste like it was rotten. The carnitas had the same foul smell and taste. The alpastor also sucked. Decided to check this place out since I see it while riding the goldline train. Read the reviews and thought 'Let me try the hard shell tacos.' Since I read that the hard shell tacos were good. Nuh-uh! Not the case. Jack In the Box tacos taste better. First off the meat has no flavor and their presentation was awful. They don't give you enough green salsa. The container that I got was enough for one not two. Sorry guys I would not recommend paying regular price for these tacos. They are budget tacos. I've been here before and had their street tacos. From what I recall they weren't too bad. I was craving for an authentic Mexican burrito and this was the closet place I could think of while at work. Everything in the burrito was okay, except for the Carne Asada...it was bad. The meat seemed as if it was boiled, rather than grilled and it had a chewy texture to it. Perhaps they boiled the meat in Pork Fat, because it sure tasted like pork, rather than beef! Definitely not good! It was far from fulfilling my needs of a good burrito. The cemetery nearby makes this place really creapy at night, and the area isn't all that great. Freeway access is nearby, so a get away can be done quickly if needed. read more

The ladies that work here are very nice, but obviously they hate their job, evident in their lack of enthusiasm to serve people. They recommended the chicken burrito, they said it has a lot of meat in it, and they did not lie! Tons of good chicken. However, what the burrito had in size, it lacked in taste. It was probably the blandest burrito I've ever had. I tried spicing it up with their hot sauce, and fried all taste buds in my mouth for 2 days.
