I don't know what I expected, but this was not it. They have no margaritas--only wine and beer. So, we ordered Sangria and it was nice. They serve complimentary chips and a nice looking chopped tomato based sauce (too hot for me). They have no guacamole on the menu, just sliced avocados. We ordered steak tacos and steak fajitas. The steak tacos were palatable, but the plain tasteless rice and and refried beans that came with both of our dinners were nothing we'd order again. My steak fajitas were very oily (as in you could easily have poured a half cup of oil out of the plate), and came with flour tortillas, a slice of tomato, some tasteless lettuce and were mixed with grilled onion and red & green pepper. No cilantro, pico de Gallo, cheese or avocado. I was not impressed with the meal or the steak quality. Then, the kicker is you have to know to go up to the front and tell them your table number to get your check and pay at front. No one said anything until we sat there for around 10 minutes after dinner, waiting for the check. This is like fast food Mexican, served cafeteria style, in a large open air restaurant. Good music, though. And, total check was under $65 with tip, so I guess that's a savings over a better place. I'd eat at home next time and make my own! read more

It was ok. My husband got the taco dinner. Tacos, beans and rice were good. I got langostinos (crawfish), they weren't too great. They were a bit overcooked, needed more seasoning and I guess it would make it more enjoyable to eat if they weren't whole. We tried Los Comales for the first time tonight, and the best way to sum it up is: check your bill. Like other reviewers have mentioned, it seems this place may be intentionally overcharging customers, likely hoping they won't notice. That's not just bad practice--it's outright theft. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The steak tacos were bland, with little to no flavor, and the overall dining experience was underwhelming. The service left much to be desired as well. Do yourself a favor and go to Burrito Parrilla instead--it's a far better option. Honestly, I think Los Camels should be shut down based on these issues alone. I found this place so-so. We ordered fajitas. Steak was overcooked and chicken was salty. Rice was mushy, beans were pulpy and no taste. Moreover either guacamole nor pico de gallo didn't come with. Only plain lettuce and cucumber came with. Service was good. friendly waitresses, seated quietly and food also came out soon enough. Tables were clean but there were trash on the floor. The Bolingbrook, IL location right off Weber road is a NO go!! They serve you rations and very small portions for full price! The soft shell tacos are served on snack sized corn shells! On most Tuesdays we order tacos at a discounted rate. On this day, I did the same thing and decided to sit down with my grandkid to spend some time and talk. There is a general understanding that in order to purchase the tacos at $2 you have to pay cash. If there isn't an understanding, and you pay with anything other than cash, then you are told by the cashier or server that the charge is the regular price. At the table, the server made it clear to our understanding that we were ordering tacos for the cash price. Great. We ordered our tacos. Grandkid orders the flour taco rather than the corn. I didn't think anything of it and the server said nothing about an upcharge. We eat our delicious tacos. The server informed me that the bill is at the counter so I didn't know what the amount was until after I paid for the food. When I look at the receipt, I notice a $5 difference in the total and I ask about it. The cashier then informed me that flour tacos are $4.50 and that there is usually a sign to say that. I look where she pointed, and there's no sign. The cashier had the "sorry not sorry" look on her face. I ask for the manager and she tells me the head manager is a lady. 3 minutes later a dude comes out chewing food with the menu in hand to tell me that the flour tacos are $4.50. I says to him, ok, 1. We're not looking at the menu if I know I'm ordering $2 tacos. 2. that's not what I was told by the server when I ordered the tacos. The dude (who refused to provide his name) proceeds to read the Taco Tuesday description to prove his point and realizes there's nothing to say flour tacos are extra. He then points to the tacos underneath the sale to show the regular price. Now I'm irritated. This guy who refused to go above and beyond for the best customer service chose to stand on what his menu didn't say. I said to this dude, "Are you sure you can't make an exception this time, because you're about to lose a customer over five bucks." Dude gives me the "sorry not sorry" shoulder shrug then lies and says he's the owner, and refused to give me corporate number or his name. I did not expect to receive this kind of response from a place that I frequent and spent hundreds of dollars at. I will never go inside this restaurant ever again! read more

The original Los Cómales in Melrose park was my favorite. I have tried the villa park one which comes second and Aurora which is my least favorite one (I will never go back there). This location is up there with the original one. The Al pastor and steak tacos were so fresh and seasoned well! Cooked to perfection. The staff were so friendly.
