Did take out today and while waiting for our order the hostess was wrapping utensils in napkins with her bare hands, then after wiping off tables and menus she used the same towel to wipe off one of the knives and wrapped it back up! Also was handling money in between all this. We've gone to this restaurant for many years but no plans to go back knowing that this unhealthy practice could get many people sick! As far as I'm concerned if you're going to be touching utensils and plates people eat off of, wash your hands first, don't try to multitask, put the dirty knife back to be washed again, and wear some gloves. This is common sense people! The chicken fajita salad was not very good, a huge bell pepper chunk in the salad not appealing, and the dressing that came w/it was aweful. The tamale and burrito fair. Overall horrible experience. We got seated immediately which was nice. It took 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge our presence and that was only because the server tried to take another tables order and those people said something. The chips were half stale, half uncooked and the salsa was extremely bland. The server brought us drinks and never came back to check on us after our order was taken, so no refills. From the time we ordered, it took another 30 minutes to get our food. If the food was good, I could justify it. The chicken tortilla soup was bland and I had to again hunt down the server and insist she take it off our check because my child refused to eat it. The main dishes were just basic. Not much flavor. Had a wonderful experience! It's not often that the owner of a restaurant is onsite and greeting customers and we were pleasantly surprised. The moment Glen stopped by our table, we felt his sincerity in welcoming us. The grande margarita is not to be missed and the entree's were delicious. Where so I start......being a local restaurant we frequently eat here. Food is good and the margaritas are tasty. But tonight....!!!!...we got seated at 6:30. Never saw a waitress till 6:45. It was busy but it usually is. Ordered margaritas and sodas with food all at one time. Got our margaritas but nothing else..... our waitress finally check back on us at 7:10. At which time she asked if we wanted more chips n salsa, we said yes. And we asked where our sodas were.our dinner finally came at 7:15. And when the server gave my wife her cheese crisp his hot pad got stuck in the cheese and ruined 2 pieces !!! Still no chips and salsa or sodas. Finally the waitress asked if we needed anything. YES. Salsa and sodas. We finally got the above but no straws!! In summary the service was totally unacceptable !!!!!!! It was horrible !!! Service , food, you name it. It was truly a horrible experience. We will have to re-think patronizing this local establishment. read more

I'm not even confident giving them 1 star. I have visited LGL a lot over the years. I believe they may have changed hands but the service we received last night was awful. We called ahead to order. Was told it would be ready at 6:10. At 6:10 they said it would be another 10-15 minutes. At 6:30 still no food. About 6:40 food showed up and it was missing an item. Finally made it home about 7 and we only live about 2 miles away. Plus people were not wearing masks that were waiting. Food wasn't bad although half of it was cold. And they didn't apologize or offer anything since it was 30 minutes late. Sad, we used to love going here. read more

Went for dine in last night with my family and my grandma and her adopted son who rarely come to town. And right away the waitress was pushy and rushing us to order and to eat. She never offered a refill for the child drink. And didn't bother to make a effort to hide her attitude and be cheerful. And the waitress never warned us that the plates were extremely hot. She placed my plate far away from me and when I grabbed it to pull it closer, I burned myself and she didn't say sorry or anything at all just looked at me and walked off. I've worked in the restaurant industry all my life and the waitress or waiter is supposed to warn guest of hot plates. I will never go back to this restaurant. read more

That was a disappointment. We came for their anniversary, which the new owners canceled but didn't take it off their Facebook. The best carne asada is now run of the mill. They chose a different cut, which is thicker, but so tough I had to cut it across the grain to be able to eat it. The cheese enchiladas no longer had their sauce, which made them dry. The final straw was the after dinner mints that they no longer have. Our server was great. He was very open about what was going on. We drive a half hour through traffic from 101 & 60 to get here. We won't be doing that again. I feel sorry for the workers. They will suffer the loss of business. read more

We came in a Friday with a group of 7 right before 7pm busy with a 45 minute wait for a large party which was understandable. Waitress was nice and friendly but the food took about 40 minutes after ordering to get to us and the restaurant had pretty much cleared out. Food wasn't horrible but took way too long. read more

This spot was recommended to me by a local, and since I lurrrve Mexican food, I was glad to check it out. We were seated promptly and hot chips delivered. Yum. I was in the mood for some carnitas, so that's what I ordered. The husband ordered his usual burrito. Image my shock and amazement when my dish arrived, and instead of seeing carnitas, I see some sort of sliced meat with a smokey-tasting BBQ sauce pour over. What? I was assured these were carnitas. LOL! Where I come from, these are definitely NOT carnitas! Well, I ate it anyway and while it wasn't horrible, it wasn't great either. Just your very basic, Americanized Mexican food, mediocre-like. This used to be the best place in AJ for Mexican food. Visited twice this year and have been disappointed twice. Taco's are now being served on corn 'appetizer' sized tortillas for a full dinner plate, (not the regular sized tortillas), the Chili Queso (cheese) dip recipe is not the same, very thin and lacking taste and they were out of Guacamole Fresco. Dr. Nine is the owner of this restaurant and I hope he can read this. With all of the competition in this town, this restaurant cannot afford to keep this up. We have been to Los Gringos several times over the past few years, both dine in and takeout and I have to say tonight was the absolute worst. From the girl that took our order over the phone and insisting we could not have one meal a certain way, which we have had numerous times, to the shredded taco being cold and dripping grease, to a taco salad missing beans, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes and olives. The lettuce, squash, and carrots were so large they needed to be recut before eating. The cheese in the chili rellano was so rubbery and not melted. We tried to order chili verde over a bed of rice with tortillas on the side, which we regularly order but were told by the girl taking phone orders that that wasn't an option nor available. So we ordered a chili verde burrito dinner instead with only rice no beans. All that was received was a small scoop of rice. Needless to say after this experience we will no longer be frequenting this establishment. I do not want another horrible experience nor throw away my hard earned money on an experience like this again. read more

Came here with a large group after a day of tubing on the Salt. The bartender did a great job of accommodating any request we had and the happy hour prices were great! For dinner I had the Camarones Verdes, a delicious shrimp and poblano chile dish that was not only pleasing to the tongue but also to the eye. Every part of the dish was perfect - the green rice was beautifully plated and deliciously spiced with the poblanos. Every piece of shrimp was cooked just right and so flavorful. We were admittedly a large and rowdy crowd but were treated nicely and our service was great. Thankfully there was another large group (baby shower??) in the same room as us so we weren't the only loud ones in the place. Our young and obviously new server told me it was the first time he'd ever served such a large party and I can say he was GREAT! He honored all requests and kept his wits and sense of humor about the whole thing and our crazy group! Los Gringos Locos was a welcome spot for us after a long day in the sun and a place I'd be happy to come back and visit. read more

So I've been to this place many times over the last year, Always for lunch though as the lunch menu includes a drink for only $8.75. I will say that there is only about 8 items on the lunch menu but the Monterey is very good. I get it with the red sauce but normally it is served with their poblano cream sauce. Its good either way but red is my preference. The staff is great and the place is clean. Great place, great people, great lunch!! read more

I have eaten Mexican food all over the valley and this food was so bad I had to restrain myself from vomiting on the spot. Got to the restaurant was told we could sit at the bar. Saturday at 1830 in the evening. Maybe half the bar was full. Bartender named Allie took over 20 minutes to take our drink orders which when we finally received weren't even what we ordered. Food took over an hr to come from the kitchen. The only thing that was edible was the Chimichanga. My dad got a fajita salad and the meat was practically raw as well as no lettuce! Well we decided to check out Los Gringos Locos tonight. My husband ordered carna Assad's and really enjoyed it. Well I ordered a soft shell taco with rice and beans. Tried to pick up my taco but it was soo wet that I just used my fork and left the shell on the plate. Overall it was ok, We'll stop back again. read more

Thought we'd give this place a try even with the mixed reviews. The short review is YUM! We'll be back for sure! The longer version... We arrived around 6:30 on a Friday night. We were greeted by the hostess and we opted to dine out on the patio. A waterfall and brightly colored tables greeted us. We chose a table and sat down. We were handed menus and within a minute of our arrival, chips and salsa had been placed on our table. Fresh, crispy chips and slightly chunky, perfectly spicy salsa were placed on our table. We asked for ice water and it was delivered within just a few minutes. (For the locals, you know our water here is nasty. Their water is great! It's filtered and very drinkable! And I'm picky!) We perused the menu and placed our order. The appetizer (Nachos Especial) arrived in about 10 minutes. It was hot and huge! So good! We could have just ordered that and been satisfied. Our food showed up about 20-25 minutes after our arrival. Perfect timing in my opinion. My hubby ordered the Shredded Beef Burrito, enchilada style (extra sauce). I ordered a chicken chimichanga (no cheese, no onions, add lettuce.) Plates were both done exactly as ordered. We were both impressed with the meat. Both the burrito and chimi were loaded with tender, flavorful meat (check out my picture for a closer look!) We took home leftovers... Enough for a whole other meal! Chips and salsa were delivered as we sat down. Food was out in 9 minutes. Fajitas beef for me, chimichanga for Sher. Fajitas cooked to perfection, lots of sautéed onions, I mean everything was superb. Do not tell them it is your birthday, we did, and they gave us a free ice cream accompanied by singing the birthday song and a mariachis hat. GREAT! We placed a rather large order last week and hubby picked It up. He was very surprised to see no masks or gloves on waiters and waitress serving tables or the bartender. Even the person handing over the order....at front desk..none. The food was very good and would have given a 4 star if there were precautions taken.
