*Take out orders beware!!* Los Hermanos is one of our go to spots for Mexican food. Recently I noticed a decline in the quality of food. Yesterday I was a bit surprised by what I witnessed the General Manager do. A doordash/Uber Eats delivery man walked in behind us and had 2 bags full of take out. He informed the GM that the order was cancelled, she then was confused (and seemed a bit put out by this information) and placed the bags full of food on the table that was designated for the take out orders. She then went through the food in the main dining area and designated the chips and salsa to go with another order that was needed to be picked up. She then brought the other food to the back in the kitchen. This food had already left the building, this should not have been designated to go to another order and especially brought to the kitchen where other food is being prepared. This was a huge violation of health code! read more

The food here is disappointing. Let's start with the chips and guacamole. The chips are your standard run of the mill corn chips. They are okay but you can easily purchase better ones from the store. The guacamole is not fresh made. It taste bland and like something you would bulk order and squeeze out of a plastic bag. The bean dip also follows suit and taste bland. The Tostada was an insult to mexican food. It had no effort put it I it's presentation. It looked like a loan half tomato slice decided to take a hike up a mountain of shredded lettuce only to find a small dollop of sour cream at the top. It was boring, bland and not worth 7 bucks. Now the torta was actually decent. It was still made with the same bland guacamole but the meat and bread was delicious and the sauce on it was good as well. 40 bucks later we felt that the food at a local Taco Bell was way better than this. Don't go here. Save your money. Go to Maria Bonita's on 800 n and state in Orem or to the Mexican place. Roth of golds gym on 9th in Provo. We used to frequent the original restaurant a block from here. We can back to celebrate our anniversary and to remember the many times we have been here before. We ordered the same thing we always so. Overall the food was pretty good. Not great but good. The biggest concern was the service. Our server pressed us to order and then disappeared once our food came. We struggled to get refills and we had to beg for our check. Once we asked for out check, our server disappeared again. We had to find him just to get it. Other tables got their check who finished their food far after we did. All in all the server really did ruin our experience here. WHEN ORDERING NACHOS, ASK THAT NORMA MAKES THEM! I worked here a while back and had the employee discount, so I actually ate everything from off the menu. The nachos are truly excellent (when Norma makes them. She works late afternoons and evenings. If she's not working, order something else). Also, the specialty drinks (Brisa de Mora Negra and Diablo Verde are my favorites). They have plenty of menu items that are really good, but Norma's nachos give me a special craving, years later. I live in Arizona. We used to love Los Hermanos when it was at the old location. On one trip here we ate there three times. We went to the new location this time after having not been in Provo for a while. We only needed to go once. The wait time was fair for a Friday night. The server was bad. He was not seen unless he took our order and brought our check. We couldn't get any refills. As for the food, the reason we liked Los Herman's was the food. Not anymore. The chips were stale, the salsa taste like tomato paste, there was no cheese dip or hot salsa,, and the food was bad. The tortillas on both my wife and my burritos had hard ends. I USED to love going to the Los Hermanos in Provo. Always excellent food, service, & atmosphere. My husband and I took our kids after college graduation to the new location in Orem. One word: HORRIBLE!!! The new location is convenient and lovely but the food was some of the worst Mexican food I've had in a long time. I normally love refried beans but these were gritty and flavorless. They must have lost a lot of help after the transition from Provo because the help was (doing their best, I'm sure) lean, the service was slow but the food was the most disappointing! The facility was large with many empty tables and still a wait list at the front. They didn't have enough people to staff the place and can I be frank? Not one hispanic that I saw!!! I liked this place. I was very amused by my dish, the three-meat burrito, because I've never seen such a burrito served before. You would have to be out of your mind to actually order something like that, but I did, and I came out okay. It wasn't much for flavor, and I felt a little heavy afterwards, but I was satisfied with the opportunity to enjoy a novelty three-meat burrito. The restaurant was very crowded. I'm amazed at how many people waited for an hour to enjoy the word's most mediocre Mexican food. I'm not sure how they draw so much business, but I assume that since it's been around so long people don't know anything else. If you're in Provo and are absolutely too lazy to drive further than 2 miles away from town for some decent Mexican, Los Hermanos is there to fill your receptacle. read more

My husband and I went in at 3 pm and there was basically no one else in the restaurant. We were seated right by the front and waitresses would walk by us a ton. To start, the salsa was disgusting. It tasted vaguely of marinara sauce and not at all how you would expect salsa to taste. The service was super slow. If I could give this zero stars I would. The food was terrible. Our waitress forgot 5 things that we had ordered and just laughed it off and said "oops I forgot". And then they messed up our check and I talked to the manager about it and she could not keep herself together or properly explain why our check was wrong and then she tried to charge us more when she originally had messed up on it. Years ago I had the opportunity to work for Los Hermanos. The food was delicious, I only had one table that ever disliked their food. I love the way they are ethical with their workers, they are pristine in their cleanliness, they are delicious for almost everything I tried (I'm not fond of fish, so I never tried the salmon). I was so shocked to see bad reviews! The only complain I have is that I'm allergic to soy, so I cannot eat anything fried for the flour tortillas have soy and they are fried in the lard. Excellent company. Excellent food. If you want my favorites I would say I love the fajitas, the halibut tacos (halibut is a mild fish), the smothered burrito, the tostadas with added meat, the flan , the fried ice cream (I can't have it anymore), and the chips and salsa (also can't have it anymore) and I added extra pepper flakes to the salsa (you can ask for all sorts of flavored of hot sauce to add). The service is always good. The specialty drinks are delightful. The prices are perfect because they are serving you real food. If you're looking for an excellent family place, a great date, a wedding luncheon (my sister had hers there), a business lunch or just a delicious lunch this is a great place to go. Word to the wise, you can always call in and take it out if you want to eat there on a busy night. read more

Service was shockingly amateurish: they forgot to bring out several items and didn't even present desert options. This is a real review by a real person. I went about 4pm, was waited on by "CJ." Service was excellent and attentive. Ordered the 4 item combo, shredded beef and chicken soft tacos and a cheese enchilada. The chicken used pure white meat, excellent flavor, and was especially good in the requested corn tortillas (grilled at my request). Shredded beef and the enchilada were scrumptious as well. Rice was about a 4 out of 5. The chips and salsa were spot on and the best I've had anywhere in the country for a long time. They don't skimp on them either and they just keep loading you up with them...awesome. Diet coke was a little flat, bring you own if you're a connoisseur like me ;-) I will go back to this place and I bookmarked it on the iPhone. Better than I expected but slow service. My wife's fish tacos were kind of lame with overcooked halibut chunks and no real sauce. But I ordered the wild salmon with vegetables and it was actually perfectly cooked with an excellent tomato sauce over the grilled vegetables which were also excellent. Such a disappointment. There was a long wait even though the restaurant was practically empty on a Saturday night, we got seated quickly because we had a reservation. Took a while to get our drinks (2 waters) and chips and salsa - which was extremely bland, just like the rest of our food. Nothing had salt, and everything tasted packaged. I ordered the taquitos which was more like a small burrito deep fried in a flour tortilla and cut in half. Definitely not what I wanted. I've been getting the small dinner with chicken taquitos as a takeout for many years and have always enjoyed it.

The food here is very good. The problem is trying to get a beer. When you order a beer, the waitress or waiter will look at you like you have lost your mind and act like you just ordered a plate of cocaine. After ten minutes they finally find someone who is able and willing to take your beer order, but when you ask what beers they have, they say that they don't know. They then come back with the list of only four options. Then they will proceed to ID you, and they will stare at the ID for several minutes even though I am twice the waiters age. When you do actually receive your beer, they don't even bother to bring you a glass. I live in Utah, this is one of the only places that make it extremely awkward and difficult to get a drink. read more

We used to come to Los Hermanos years ago, but now we live in SLC. We spent the day at Seven Peaks so we thought we'd stop by one of our old favorite restaurants. Yikes...... food was awful! My sister and I ordered the halibut tacos. They were so dry and flavorless, not to mention she hit something hard. My husband ordered the Loco Taco and it was so bland and about 90% meat. It is not good food. We let the waitress know that we wanted to speak to a manager. The manager wouldn't even come out. The waitress offered a 25% discount, but we still had to pay for food that was awful. We won't be back. PLEASE don't waste your time here. "Gross food" is an understatement! read more
