I was very disappointed on this visit. I would eat here all the time and it was delicious but this time it was different. I went to the redd location and I ordered the lengua tacos. My 3 tortillas had little overcooked pieces of reheated lengua. It didn't taste like lengua at all and didn't have anything to add to my tacos. No cilantro, onion or salsa. I put the rice and beans in my tacos to give it flavor. I couldn't even get ahold of my waitress because they had live entertainment. O and the bathroom was disgusting. read more

Every time I've gone to Los Jarrones, it's been either moderately busy or completely packed, and that's saying something as I've probably been to Los Jarrones more times than any other Mexican restaurant in El Paso. The food is standard El Paso Mexican food, which is by no means a bad thing; enchiladas, carne asada, various tacos, and even menudo along with every other staple you can think of. However the quality has been amazingly consistent; every time I've gone there, I have had a good meal. The wait staff is efficient and quick, and your meal will normally be out of the kitchen in under 10 minutes, while you fill up on the freshly made chips and in house made salsa. The prices are also extremely reasonable: my brother always gets the beef fajitas, which would be at least 10 dollars more at any other establishment. The food always tastes fresh and has a homemade quality to it. My only complaint is with the chairs, they're wooden and straight backed making them slightly uncomfortable, but that's being very nit picky. Once you're done with your meal, you can walk through a doorway into their bakery, which serves all manner of galletas, pan dulce, empanadas, and other freshly baked treats. They are an amazingly good value, and you'll always see me leaving toting out a brown bag full of cookies and a full stomach. I can't guarantee that coming here you'll say that you've had the best Mexican food in your life, but what I can say is that you will leave full, happy, and satisfied, with your wallet still full as well, maybe with a bag of sweet treats for your journey to your next destination. read more

Well I'm back even though I swore I would never write another review for your help. I have no idea why this place only has three stars other than the people who have read it before must've come like right at the closing or an off day because our service and the food was outstanding. The gratuitous chips and salsa were great. Chips were crispy and the salsa was flavorful without being too hot. My son had a hamburger patty and french fries. The fries were freshly cut and the hamburger was very well seasoned and it wasn't from a frozen stack. My wife had Milanesa, beans, and rice. She says everything was on point. And if you know from my previous reviews, my wife is very very stingy with stars. I ordered the Aracherra steak and a baked potato. Not much you can do to ruin a baked potato (maybe under cook it) but the steak was outstanding. They serve it with grilled onions and thinly sliced avocado. Used to like this place; now I for sure don't. The past couple times we've been it's always been the same rude waitresses. But this is enough. First, we asked for orange juice, it tasted like cigarettes, supposedly they make these fresh but this was WARM orange juice that had obviously turned. and when we asked for more water, the rude waitress went behind the bar and brought it back, that tasted even worse like dirty dishwater. When we got the food she just ran off we had to get someone else to help our table. When we went to go pay, THEY STILL CHARGED US for the orange juice, and the cashier was beyond rude we tried to explain to her what happened and she was worse than the waitress. How do these people have jobs? Never coming back. It's not about the prices it's about the service. And there is NO good service here. read more

Service leaves much to be desired. Walked in, and waited and waited for service. After waiting a total of 25 minutes and never being approached by a single waiter/waitress decided to leave as not to experience a completely disappointing evening. I was in shock. Never experienced such a complete lack of service... ever. I'll try again in a few months & see if anything has changed. I have been a customer here for years. The staff is friendly and make you feel very welcome. By far the best and most consistent menudo in El Paso. The Enchiladas montadas are exceptional. Their expansion to a larger location is a manifestation of traditional Mexican culinary perfection. Terrible, slow service. It took over an hour to receive our food, and once received, half of it, including a bowl of soup, were cold.

I got the Huevos Divorciados and the red Chile wasn't as good as I expected. The customer service wasn't the best but it was reasonable. The amount of time in which my food arrived was reasonable. Was looking forward to trying out this revamped restaurant. The inside is very nicely done. Sadly, the food was a disappointment. I had the combo plate that included a cheese relleno, enchilada, and ground beef taco. The food took a long time to come out of the kitchen and arrived cold. Funny that the waiter told me to watch out for the hot plate. The plate had been over-microwaved, so the beans had a solid crust over it. The beans looked and tasted like a dab of adobe. I was a customer until the service got bad. The good servers left slowly. I gave the new place a chance and even worse. I myself told the owner he needed to educate the service. WOW! I cant tell you enough of just how tasty this food is in LOS JARRONES. I ordered the chili rellenos and was in HEAVEN! They were STUFFED with gooey cheese and perfectly seasoned. The chips and salsa were homemade and the salsa was spicy and delicious. FANTASTIC! (my mouth is watering now..) Tacos are stuffed with fresh beef and wonderful cheese and veggies. Good and filling! Tacos shells are also home made and super tasty! Addicting indeed! YUM! I am so impressed by the freshness. Service was terrific too! Prices are reasonable as well. We asked if we could sit outside and the server lied to us and told us there was no tables inside, after being seated we checked to find only one table of 4 sitting outside. The service was so terrible and the food took 45 minutes to only be okay! The one male server busting his butt off who wasn't even assigned to our table ended up helping us for most of our lunch. They forgot my chicken for the chicken enchiladas and just brought the chicken on the side after 10 mins. The cheese wasn't melted. By the time we actually ate our food was cold. We came in excited because we were told they had great breakfast. We came in and there was 7 of us since we had 4 kids with us... surely a large bill. We stood there and were ignored. Then we asked someone hey we've been standing here and we can't just sit ourselves since we have a large group. She said let me see about cleaning a table and putting them together then they continued to ignore us so we had to just walk out of the restaurant. One of the best restaurants in town. A well kept secret really, despite the fact that they have at least three locations that I know of. The menu is vast, and I've tried a little bit of everything. Tacos, tortas, menudo, enchiladas, chili rellenos. Lengua, bistec, machaca, barbacoa, pescado, these guys have got a talent for cooking. The prices some of the most competitive in town. The atmosphere, laid back and genuine. Often times there's a guy serenading the guests with song and the wonderful music played from his guitar. tip the man! ;) The Redd Road location has a paneria next door for all your pan dulce needs, so our family often orders up a few with coffee after dinner. Lastly the place is byob, umm awesome! The only think keeping this place from getting a fifth star is that the service is a bit too laid back. You have to at times, be willing to get up from the table the wrangle them on over, which is funny because this all so you can get your check. Which since, they don't bring it to you at the conclusion of your meal, we have on multiple occasion almost forgotten to pay and walk out. We've always remembered to go back in, but really for their own benefit, drop the bill off so we can pay y'all for the wonderful meal and good times. read more

Having lunch here this afternoon, service is horrible. We have been continuously ignored, parties who arrived later were seated before us, weve had to ask for asistance 3 times so far to refil water, utensils, more salsa, servers have NO personable skills. There seems to be tension among servers...thinking they may be arguing over who should serve this booth. I had the molletes with eggs for breakfast and salsa del árbol. Oh my goodness! They make their own bread in the bakery. Menudo is also very good and very very well served. Service is great and staff very friendly. You do have to get up and pay your own tab at the register which is not a big deal but sometimes the line is long. Visiting family in El Paso we came for brunch. I had not been in the area for a while, so found the new building a bit impersonal. As usual, there was a line to be seated (this is as a rule a sign of a good place, right?). It was crowded at the entrance, since they have the orders counter and where you sign up for the table right as you come in the door. On a positive note, we didn't have to wait long for our table. But as soon as we were seated we realized the place is still under construction by the ear-splitting noise of workers drilling, cutting, grinding, etc. Not only was it too loud, but it occurred to us there was a distinct possibility of food contamination with flying particles of wood and metal. Food was not as good as when they had their old smaller place down the street. The Chile verde burrito was good, but the barbacoa one was lacking, as was the service. Tables are too small for their own plates' size, so for the 3 of us sitting at a table for 4, there was not enough space for our bowls of caldo each and the burritos. Few times we visited this place on Doniphan, next to Walmart on Redd Rd. (There are more Jarrones restaurants, including one a bit further up Doniphan near the mall, which we try to avoid because it's less crowded, not as much ambiance and dirtier it seems.) But this location is nicer, the food is cheap and good. Nothing fancy but good. You feel like you're eating with the locals, there's Mexican music playing in the background. The only problem I had there recently is that the waitress spoke only Spanish. As I didn't understand, and English is not my first language either, I simply said "English?!". She seemed offended that I wanted her to speak English. I speak four languages and I'm sorry but Spanish isn't one of them. Waitress was trying to convince me her English was bad (but the few words she spoke sounded great to me) and give me Spanish lessons (which was uncalled for). Second waitress did the opposite, acted as if she understood but then brought us one water instead of two. Edit: just saw a review regarding racism from a mixed African-American & Caucasian family, and that review actually reflects the way I feel about this, at least by some of the staff members, although not as blatant as the other reviewer said it was. read more

The reason why I gave this place a 5 rating is because of the food quality. It is authentic Mexican cuisine and so delicioso. The prices and quality of food was right on. Don't even bother... a poor intent to make the place better moving to a new building didn't work sorry. the service and the food are equally bad as before. The waitress attitude was terrible, i order something and i got the order wrong, my potato had a black thick hair, the meat felt like chewy gum like besides not having taste, the beam burrito was disgusting... like seriously what Mexican messes up a burrito?? the chairs are very uncomfortable no padding, you can see everything that is happening in the kitchen maybe the hair in my food came from one of the cooks that weren't wearing a cap on his beard or hair.. soo disgusting really. read more
