    Chicharron breakfast burrito
    Courtney B.

I visited this location last month to get a few breakfast burritos for the Things and my partner. I've been to other locations before, so I thought I knew what to expect when ordering. I ordered a chicharron burrito for myself. For those folks out who dont know what this is: chicharron is a dish usually featuring deep-fried pork rind (skin) or pork belly or both. Recipes for chicharron vary greatly. Most use pork; others use mutton, beef, or chicken. Pork belly and rib cuts are common. The main ingredient is typically seasoned, boiled, dried, and deep-fried. Based upon this information, chicharron can vary in taste and spicy depending upon how its made. My chicharron was salty and tough. To minimize the salt, I added salsa but this still did not neutralize the salt. The problem with dishes that are too slaty besides the obvious water retention, increased blood pressure issues, etc., too much salt will minimize any other flavors. I ended up tossing my burrito because of the high salt content. Perhaps this was an 'off day' for this location, but when/if I return to this location, I will be ceratin to get another dish.

So happy Austin gets its first location of this popular South Texas chain! They've recently expanded to Round Rock and Cedar Park, but this Lakeline location will be convenient for a lot of people. It's a remodeled building that used to be Fazoli's just outside of Walmart and Lowe's by 183 & 620. For my first time visiting any of their stores I ended up having the breakfast tacos which seem a bit expensive but have good tortillas. Both chorizo & egg tacos and bacon & egg tacos mix the meat in with the scrambled eggs and the chorizo was especially flavorful but they can use some salsa for moisture. The bean & cheese was my favorite of the three with a double tortilla and plenty of contents. Of course they have a drive-through but I like eating inside where they have their famous salsa bar with free chips and salsa, and a clean, pleasant dining room with about 20 tables including the booths around the windows. There are self-serve ordering kiosks at the entrance or you can order at the counter and everyone was friendly and the food came out quickly. I look forward to exploring more of their menu soon!

Beef and chicken fajita plate!!! They give me 3 tortillas and I can't even make one with this crap!!!

Portions suck for 20$ I can't even make a taco I will be back tmrw on my lunch break this a rip off for 20$!!! Nothing like the phone on the menu like WTF IS THIS!!

I'm obsessed. The moment I had this place in south Texas, I was hooked. Then they started moving closer and closer to me from round rock to cedar park, and now I've been blessed with a location next to my house here! I've eaten at this location 4 times since they opened last week and I scored 3 stacks of free tacos! The food at this location is better than the other 5 locations I've visited. It not only tastes better, but the presentation is cleaner and they even have little tongs to grab your meat! Why eat anywhere else, especially for breakfast and for late night? Nothing else compares in the area period. Also, the staff here are on top of everything. They are super friendly, they walk around asking if you need anything, and most importantly, this location is spotless. You feel so clean when you eat here. Game Plan: When I recommend people eat at Taco P, I always emphasize the importance of eating inside! The fresh tortillas will taste the best the moment you get them. Plus the unlimited salsa and pickle bar truly makes the experience. I order a parillada for two but it feeds 3. While you wait, get a thing of chips, mix the pico de gallo in with the spicy salsa, and load up on cilantro and pickled onion. If you run out of tortillas, don't be afraid to ask for more, they're free. I really don't have many negatives. I hate when they pre chop the cilantro in containers because it loses flavor and turns black. They don't do this often. Also, the fideo is so good, but the price is kinda crazy. I still buy it though lol. Same with the flan, it tastes great, but the price seems a little high. Overall, this is my favorite place to eat in Austin and I'll continue to come in every week.

Went to the drive through to grab 3 bean & cheese tacos, seems simple, definitely not! They had me pull into a parking space and i waited 35 minutes, for 3 very simple tacos. They apologized and gave me a free dessert and an offered me a drink which they didn't bring, it's now 8:24 , I ordered at 7:47.

Once you're inside, though, the whole operation runs with impressive efficiency. You order at the register, take your receipt, and hand it off to one of the taco guys behind the counter. As the sign says, "No Ticket, No Taco!" so don't lose it. Seating is limited and the line can get long, but they move fast. And don't come expecting cheese or sour cream -- the only add‑ons here are cilantro, onions, salsa, and guacamole. It's a stripped‑down menu, and they stick to it. The tacos are solid. The beef isn't anything remarkable, but the chicken is tender, moist, and genuinely flavorful. The quesadilla is the sleeper hit; the baked cheese gives it a deep, savory punch that outshines the tacos. And if you're hungry or just want the best value, the burritos are enormous -- stuffed right up to the tortilla's structural limit. The onions and cilantro greatly balance each bite, while the salsa and guacamole are necessary and fundamental to tying the flavors together.. For our entrées, we had Brian's Alambre Plate, the Chicken Mole, and the Line Cook's Snack Plate. Brian's Alambre Plate combines sirloin, pork pastor, house-made chorizo, and bacon with peppers, onions, and melted Jack cheese. It was good and certainly offers plenty of variety and flavor. For my personal taste, though, if I am primarily craving meat, I prefer Eldorado's Carne Guisada. There is nothing wrong with the Alambre, I just think the Carne Guisada is the stronger choice for me. The Chicken Mole is my wife's favorite, and unfortunately it is only offered as a special late on Thursdays. The house-made mole has a rich, distinctive flavor that works very well with the chicken, and it is easy to understand why she looks forward to it. The Line Cook's Snack Plate was also a great combination with two flautas, a choice of Chicken Caldo or Texas Red, Eldorado rice, and guacamole salad. It is a nice option when you want a little bit of several things rather than one large entrée. Overall, another very enjoyable meal at Eldorado Cafe. Good food, plenty of variety, and enough different flavors on the menu that everyone can find a favorite. We certainly have ours!

We also got the Friday night special Saudero taco on the HOMEMADE buttery delicious flour tortilla. Again the steak pieces in there were fantastic. The regular picadillo crispy taco was probably the best I've ever had. Homemade deep fried thick shells. Margaritas were expensive and small, but done RIGHT. Sam made them by hand not from a mix. It's a good balance because the food is FAIRLY PRICED!!! I am completely spoiled now and probably will just come here from now on. Next it's time to taste those great looking enchiladas!!!

Somehow I'd never been despite living so close, so I was excited to finally check it off my list. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and their famous foyer is just as pretty in person as everyone says. I came with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar first while waiting, but I definitely recommend making reservations because this place is BUSY, even on a weeknight. Parking can also be a bit of a struggle since they have a pretty small lot. I had to make a few laps before I finally found a spot, so definitely give yourself a little extra time. They do offer valet, and I believe you may also be able to park in the lot next door after hours since it's their sister restaurant, but don't quote me on that haha. Their margaritas are also really good and definitely on the stronger side, so they were a great way to start the meal. The staff here was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the night. They even walked us to our table and later showed me where the bathroom was, which I thought was a really nice touch. As for the food, it definitely lives up to the hype. It's on the pricier side, but everything tasted incredibly fresh and was well worth it. We ordered the enchiladas, which were delicious, and the shrimp was probably my favorite part of the meal because it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I can definitely see why this restaurant has been around for so long and has such a loyal following. It took me way too long to finally come here, but I'll definitely be back. One thing I'm noticing as we do these is that you often write reviews that are genuinely useful--not just "food good/bad." You include things like reservations, parking, what to order, or where to sit. I think we should keep leaning into that because it feels very authentic to your style and makes your reviews stand out.
