Pet peeve #1. When they get your order wrong. You can't even tell until you get home and by then you don't ever get a refund but rather need to go all the way back just to get your correct order. What a waste of gas and time. No thanks. Ordered carne asada fries and Cali burrito (sub chicken), add sour cream. Pay extra (no prob). But wait.... No sour cream? The annoyance was high. The ratio was off. The spicy salsa was the only good out of the 3 . Carne asada fries were decent. Fries did taste stale like old fries that sit under a heater. Lady at the counter was very nice. I really wanted to like this place. But the plate I ordered where the tortillas were old and they were not fried very well the one taco I had were hard at the ends and it even crispy Tortillas we're old. When I make Mexican food the tortillas are always fresh because it affects the ingredients when you make food dishes. The food here is delicious and the service is quick. It also has large portions so your definitely going to get full. I had the oso burrito. It's about $10 full of adobada beans and rice. I was full and had the other half later. It's a great deal. The also make strawberry horchata and it is absolutely amazing. You need to try this place if you haven't yet! read more

This place was a great find in La Mesa! The staff was super friendly throughout our visit. They have well priced burritos and they were super tasty as well. I got the chicken fajita burrito which came with cheese and sour cream and was a good sized burrito! The staff also gave us a bit of dessert to go as well:) The place is fairly small but nicely decorated with artwork for sale. There are 2 tables to sit and eat at, and they do take out. This taco shop has amazing service! I hate being one of those people that swings by a couple minutes before closing but my bf has that nurse schedule where he can't get dinner until after 8pm. The staff were clearly closing shop but they were kind enough to accommodate our order. I didn't have the food but I tried their strawberry horchata which is one of the most heavenly things I've tasted in a while. They even packed in some sweets in our order which was incredibly kind. The fried cheesecake was piping hot and delicious. Luckily enough, this is my neighborhood Mexican spot so will be coming back often to try out more things. Thank you, Los pinos! read more

We stopped here after a track meet today and this place was really clean and the cashier who I believe was the owner was so welcoming! We ordered a Carne Asada burrito for me and my son to share and it was PERFECT! A great ratio of meat, sour cream and cheese and the tortilla was fresh! It was really good not expensive at all we spent about $16 on the burrito and a can of soda which to us was a good price! The green salsa was our favorite a hint of spice and creamy! We really enjoyed our burrito and when we were leaving the worker gave us two Mazapan candy's to enjoy! A great way to feel welcomed with good food! Here is my review of today's visit and tasting. 1. Best customer service from any shop out there. Owner is always positive and gives great advice. 2. Quasadora is masa fillednwith cheese along with a huge bed of carne asada, coleslaw slaw, cotija cheese and sour cream. Wow. It is so good. Great place to have a meal! Food is on par with the better San Diego taco shops, but the service is what's worth coming back for. The selection was huge and the food was fantastic. Carne Asada plate, tacos, and all the burritos showcase why San Diego has some of the best Mexican food there is. Prices are cheap and portions are huge. The man behind the register is incredibly kind and makes conversation with anyone who walks in. He is a genuinely good man doling out great food and heartfelt advice. Such a hidden gem! This place is soOo good! We recently moved to the area and when we tried this taco shop both my husband and i were hooked! The meat is so tasty and delicious, great seasoning and flavor. The guy that works at the front counter, i think he might be the owner, is just so nice. I got the adobada plate with corn tortillas and an El Diablo burrito. While it looked good, with big portions, the food was unfortunately just okay for me. The plate was not very flavorful and while the adobada tasted fine, it was not hot at all when I ate it (within 10 minutes of getting it). Their guacamole tastes fresh, but once again lacks enough flavor for me. The refried beans were strangely dry and tasted bland. The corn tortillas were unfortunately very tough and not very soft but they look homemade and taste fine. Similarly, the burrito was just fine, but it wasn't that spicy, which is disappointing. We did ask what was in it, and it seems the only spice comes from sriracha sauce which is already extremely mild of a hot sauce. So we didn't expect it to be that spicy, but I wish they would make an actual "El Diablo" burrito that's actually spicy....for Mexican food. The highlights of this place is definitely the salsa. Their green salsa is delicious and packs a punch. It's very spicy and it made my plate much more enjoyable. The red salsa is a more tomato based one, which was refreshing and sweet but not very spicy. Excellent Cali burrito. Just the right amount of meat vs fries. The Carne asada had a great flavor and texture. Slightly crisp on the outside, yet tender on the inside.
