The food here is delicious and the service is quick. It also has large portions so your definitely going to get full. I had the oso burrito. It's about $10 full of adobada beans and rice. I was full and had the other half later. It's a great deal. The also make strawberry horchata and it is absolutely amazing. You need to try this place if you haven't yet!

Absolutely delicious carne asada fries. Melted cheese, great flavorful carne asada, guacamole on point. Fries were crispy, not mushy like some places. Lady who took my order was super nice, greeted me right away. Lots of drink options. I will definitely be returning for more food and dessert!

This place was a great find in La Mesa! The staff was super friendly throughout our visit. They have well priced burritos and they were super tasty as well. I got the chicken fajita burrito which came with cheese and sour cream and was a good sized burrito! The staff also gave us a bit of dessert to go as well:) The place is fairly small but nicely decorated with artwork for sale. There are 2 tables to sit and eat at, and they do take out. Would definitely recommend checking out this spot! Will be stopping by again when I'm in the area.

We stopped here after a track meet today and this place was really clean and the cashier who I believe was the owner was so welcoming! We ordered a Carne Asada burrito for me and my son to share and it was PERFECT! A great ratio of meat, sour cream and cheese and the tortilla was fresh! It was really good not expensive at all we spent about $16 on the burrito and a can of soda which to us was a good price! The green salsa was our favorite a hint of spice and creamy! We really enjoyed our burrito and when we were leaving the worker gave us two Mazapan candy's to enjoy! A great way to feel welcomed with good food! Will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area

Here we go! New item exclusive. Got to try a few of these. Not in the menu yet. Its called Quesadora! Its is new and unique to this shop. When you are there order these and try it for yourself. Here is my review of today's visit and tasting. 1. Best customer service from any shop out there. Owner is always positive and gives great advice. 2. Quasadora is masa fillednwith cheese along with a huge bed of carne asada, coleslaw slaw, cotija cheese and sour cream. Wow. It is so good. Its a fusion or carne asada taco and quesadilla which speaks my name!!! Hope this gets introduced soon! Its a must to get here. Must!! 3. This place is always clean. Can't go wrong with this place. Always so neat!! Overall, another 5 star. Love this place abs what they are doing. Simply amazing. I appreciate Los Pinos and having you in our community. Thank you.

Great place to have a meal! Food is on par with the better San Diego taco shops, but the service is what's worth coming back for. The selection was huge and the food was fantastic. Carne Asada plate, tacos, and all the burritos showcase why San Diego has some of the best Mexican food there is. Prices are cheap and portions are huge. The man behind the register is incredibly kind and makes conversation with anyone who walks in. He is a genuinely good man doling out great food and heartfelt advice. Plenty of parking and very quiet and clean tables.

I ordered the 5 rolled tacos because those are my favorite food item to order especially here in SD . George' and his team are very nice and accommodating. I even got a free bag or animal cookies ! Awesome

    Adobada Combo Plate
    Esther T.

I got the adobada plate with corn tortillas and an El Diablo burrito. While it looked good, with big portions, the food was unfortunately just okay for me. The plate was not very flavorful and while the adobada tasted fine, it was not hot at all when I ate it (within 10 minutes of getting it). Their guacamole tastes fresh, but once again lacks enough flavor for me. The refried beans were strangely dry and tasted bland. The corn tortillas were unfortunately very tough and not very soft but they look homemade and taste fine. Similarly, the burrito was just fine, but it wasn't that spicy, which is disappointing. We did ask what was in it, and it seems the only spice comes from sriracha sauce which is already extremely mild of a hot sauce. So we didn't expect it to be that spicy, but I wish they would make an actual "El Diablo" burrito that's actually spicy....for Mexican food. The highlights of this place is definitely the salsa. Their green salsa is delicious and packs a punch. It's very spicy and it made my plate much more enjoyable. The red salsa is a more tomato based one, which was refreshing and sweet but not very spicy. Their customer service is also good, guy at the counter was very nice and we didn't have to wait too long for our food.

    Steak Fajita Burrito

Wow! All the was from Dallas and looking forward some real Mexican food that was clean and valuable. This place, especially George, was amazing. Had the steak fajita burrito and it FAR exceeded expectations. Won't be disappointed and it's a great business. Great customer service. Well done guys

Not only was all the food amazing, but the portions were generous and made for some great leftovers. My parents were in town so we were out to dinner together and we all got different dishes and each one was better than the next. The quesadilla was probably the best thing we had. Our server was attentive and quick while still giving time to be friendly. When they were out of a couple items for the drinks we wanted, she was ready with alternatives and always offered to at least double check in case there was something they could do. My dad even got a little preview of a new version of their Old Fashioned since they were in the process of phasing out the old one and were out of one of the ingredients.

This was my first time visiting Casa Gabriela. I saw the menu and it looked really yummy. The major…read moredraw was the Cafe de Olla. I had to order it. It came with a yummy almond galleta dusted with powdered sugar. The coffee was perfect. I dipped my cookie in my coffee and truly it was the perfect bite plus perfect treat as I waited for my food because I was HUNGRY! Our food took a while to arrive it was a Saturday morning at brunch but it wasn't crowded. The wait was the kind of wait you do where you look at the tables around you to see who has food and who doesn't and wonder what was the seating order of the folks around you and if they got their food before you and why. So when my food arrived I was sooooo ready! I ordered the chorizo and crispy potatoes burrito. It looked great when it arrived! I strategically cut my burrito about a quarter of the way in. I knew I would at least eat a quarter but I knew I definitely wouldn't eat the whole thing and I didn't want to waste a perfectly good bite on all tortilla. I cut my burrito and put a bite on my fork and as I put my food in my mouth I looked down and find a long curly hair. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. I was disappointed for several reasons. 1. The bite I took was all egg and tortilla. No cheese no chorizo no potato. 2. I was starving! And 3. I knew I wasn't going to have anything to eat until after the other two people I was with finished eating and I could go somewhere else to get food. I didn't let it damper my mood. I showed the waiter who was very apologetic and took my plate away. When he walked away. It hit me I didn't tell him to not bring me anything else because I was going to eat a remade burrito. So I got his attention because I didn't want them to waste anymore food. Here is what I will say. To replace my food, I was given a pastry platter that was AMAZINGLY good! The concha was legit the best I've ever eaten. The banana bread was delicious with delicious toasted pecans which added a caramelized texture to the banana bread! No joke, it was so good. What I will also say is that I was visited with no less than 3 people including Gabriela herself who was absolutely apologetic about my experience and assured me it wouldn't happen again. What's also nice is that I wasn't charged for the food I ate which believe it or not has happened to me before MANY years ago. My peeps whom I was with absolutely loved their food. One had the Sopes and the other had the huevos rancheros. So while I have to be honest about my review, I really think this was a one off mistake and at the very least I would highly suggest ordering cafecito and pastries from Casa Gabriela!

I've also heard rave reviews from family and friends. Since we were suit shopping at Fashion Valley and were hanging out with my son and his girlfriend, I recommended that we eat at Chuy's for lunch. If you're a fan of value for your money and tasty Mexican food, I definitely recommend dining here. 4.5 stars for sure, but I'm glad our go to Mexican food spot, Yesenia's, is closer to us and we can visit there for amazing Mexican food as well. Chuy's Taco Shop is located in Rolando, which is close to El Cajon Blvd. and the San Diego State University area. The easiest way to get here would be the 8 freeway east or west, exiting off of 70th Street, and heading south. The taco shop is located within a small strip mall where you can find Ben & Esther's Vegan Jewish Deli, San Diego Blenders Smoothies, and Moxie Theatre. It's across the street from a tire shop. From the outside, it looks like a typical local San Diego Mexican fast food joint, but you can immediately tell that the owners are proud of their accolades displaying Guy Fieri's DDD mug and Yelp's 2025 Top 100 Places To Eat distinction on its front glass window. As you step inside, you'll see several homages to Guy Fieri of DDD fame with a framed signed picture, another framed signed pic with Guy's caricature, and one of their televisions showing the DDD episode featuring Chuy's. There's a good amount of tables and chairs to dine in, several televisions, distressed laminate wood flooring, and accolades hanging on their walls that the restaurant has garnered. Friendly and professional customer service from the lady behind the register, who also doubled as our server. Not sure anything can be done about this, but flies also liked Chuy's food as we had to keep fanning our food. I've been blessed to eat at several DDD restaurants throughout California, Nevada, and Arizona and I have enjoyed every single one I dined at. Having eaten at Chuy's Taco Shop for the first time, I understand why Guy Fieri did a segment here. What I really appreciated about Chuy's was their value for your money. When you dine here, be prepared for large portions, so definitely come hungry. Whenever I eat at any Mexican fast food spot, I order the same go to items that my family and I order at our favorite restaurant Yesenia's. Since I was breaking bread with my wife, son, and his girlfriend, we ordered the following: two carne asada burritos; five rolled tacos with cheese, guacamole, and lettuce; full order carne asada chips; half order of carne asada fries; and a pineapple agua fresca. I wanted to compare what we typically order from Yesenia's. When you eat at Chuy's, the amount of food you get will feed an army. I didn't expect the carne asada burritos to be the length of my forearm. I got to eat some of my son's and it was delicious and satisfying. The star of our meal were the rolled tacos. It was stuffed full with tasty beef, crunchy, and its components were memorable. We barely touched the carne asada chips because we ordered too much, but they aren't stingy with their carne asada both for the chips and their fries. The half order of carne asada fries were plenty and I enjoyed that dish. The pineapple drink was refreshing and helped beat the toasty weather. I still feel Yesenia's is better quality, but for the amount of food at Chuy's, it's a must visit Mexican restaurant. I'm glad I got to finally experience Chuy's Taco Shop and check off another Guy Fieri featured DDD restaurant. If I'm in the area, I will definitely stop by to try their other menu items, but I'm glad our fave Mexican fast food spot is closer to us to satisfy our Mexican food cravings.

Walking into Panchos, you are immediately greeted by a bright, colorful and welcoming scene. It gives you the feeling of walking into your tía's favorite old school restaurant. The tables and benches are dark wood. And there is papel picado hanging. It's charming. You get the feeling that Panchos has been around for decades. Apparently, the restaurant has been open here since 2004. And the real star? Our server, whose name I cannot recall. He was equal parts waiter and comedian, a very kind man who was highly attentive and extremely helpful. If you like spicy salsa, be sure to tell him to bring you the good stuff from the back (after he offers you bland Tapatio). The menu is absolutely massive. They have breakfast burritos, breakfast plates, chips and fries, shrimp plates, soups (check with the team about offerings, like caldo de res), tortas, quesadillas and a kid's menu and more. I highly recommend the cheese enchiladas and the chile relleno. The chile relleno is especially good. It isn't your soggy, cafeteria-style relleno drowned in red sauce and regret. It is the best comfort food, and Panchos does it well. There is a generous melt of Oaxacan cheese, the batter is very light without being greasy. And then there was the ranchero sauce! Tangy tomatoes, a hint of garlic, and a tiny bit of chili. So very good. Also popular on the menu is a pitcher of margaritas, which you should plan on sharing with three others. The mango margarita is also quite nice. And they also have a Baileys & Coffee. And you can easily get a delicious, filling meal for $20 or less. All around, a great place.
