I absolutely love the service here. They're extremely helpful when it comes to dietary restrictions and get it right every time. The inside of their restaurant is crammed and half of the building is a visible kitchen and a bit loud. They have 2 tables for outdoor seating. I can see how this may be a problem to some, but I didn't mind it. I always get their California burrito. The ingredients inside are perfectly balanced and meat well seasoned. Things I would note would be for the price of the fajita bowl include one or two tortillas, I mean what taco place doesn't provide tortillas with fajitas?!? Wanted to grab some Mexican food for the road after an afternoon at the Carlsbad Flower Fields and saw that this was conveniently next to the 5 freeway! Loved the variety at the salsa bar and food was tasty! Both burritos were a generous size- just a bit narrower than chipotle's. Cabeza burrito is like 90% meat with onions and cilantro. My wife enjoyed it but that ratio of meat can be controversial. I enjoyed the spicy surf and turf - the lettuce and crema inside balanced out the spice for me. Don't know how the food taste as grub hub left it on the ground without our knowledge and got very cold and soggy even though I unchecked the box for "contactless delivery" I prefer my food to be given to me or at least a knock on my door or ring my doorbell so I can be made aware of the food being left on the cold dark ground. I don't know how long the food was out in the ground for but would be nice out of respect to just ring my my doorbelll or knock since I unchecked the "contactless delivery,leave food outside the door" option. We were watching YouTube videos of Mexico and craving El pastor tacos. Found Los Tacos on Yelp and it was the only place which had a picture of the spinning meat thing (some places say they have pastor but it's not really up there spinning in the restaurant). The food here is super bomb! Lots of delicious salsas too. Together we had a garlic shrimp taco, El pastor taco, carnitas, and carne Asada taco. Everything was better than we expected. Al pastor was my favorite but the carnitas was moist and crispy on the edges, the garlic shrimp was super flavorful.... I don't try the carne Asada but my husband said it was also great. They don't have beer or wine but that just means it's an even less expensive meal out. Joe the manager greeted us, took our order, and and came out to make sure everything was tasting great. But for some reason, it was on the mind. It's simple. Familiar. Comforting. And the size alone was wild. Wild in a good way. Easily 2 servings. I was more than pleasantly surprised. All three ingredients were distinct on their own. From the cheese which had a nice bite and age to it, the rice was flavorful and not dry and the refried beans had a nice seasoning to it. Los Tacos was a delicious surprise! We stopped in on a whim and were greeted by super friendly service, large portions and delicious food. They also have a Taco Tuesday deal for $2 tacos. I kept it simple with a Carne Asada Burrito, added rice and beans, and loved the chewy tortilla and the perfectly prepared meat. I always appreciate a good salsa bar and theirs was impressive. I think there were 6 or 7 options of a range of salsas and my favorites were the avocado salsa and the salsa verde. I'm a pretty regular customer. I've had probably 5 or 6 experiences here that deserve 5 stars. Tonight, Friday August 1, there was a young white man with blonde hair working who made all my food, as he was the only present cook. There was way too much sauce in the burrito, and not enough meat. There was little to no consommé on the tortilla for the birria taco, and the tortilla was undercooked compared to how it is normally done. I believe it'd be wise to retrain that employee. Each taco is loaded with extra meat, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and then double-wrapped with tortillas to keep it strong. Being a loyal customer for over 7 years I get the same thing garlic shrimp tacos They never put enough sauce and it's always dry. I asked for a little extra sauce this last time and they were going to charge me for it. I cancelled my order! They could have made over $40 bucks and they were rushing me at 8:45 when they close at 9:00. I felt pressured and it wasn't great considering I'm paying for my food. If it's not bad enough everything is outrageous right now and they did raise their prices and I understand but charging me for extra sauce On my tacos so I don't have to eat dry tacos is crazy I won't eat here anyMore. Asada tacos: This was the first time I had these tacos with pinto beans and it wasn't bad. I just wasn't expecting it. Al pastor tacos: Al pastor is my fave kind of taco and the meat was so flavorful, nice bit of char, and it came with slices of pineapple. Yum! I found this place on yelp and it did not disappoint! Their al pastor on a spit brought me in. I got the combination taco plate (3 tacos + rice & beans) for about $11. I had the fish, al pastor, and chicken. Al pastor was the best, followed by the fish. I'd pass on the chicken. It was delicious and the homemade tortillas were even better. Solid spot, with generous portions. Prices aren't cheap, but they are reasonable, and let's be honest. Nothing is really cheap these days. We really enjoyed the tacos, burrito, and nachos that we ordered. The nachos with birria was amazing - loaded with toppings and flavor. The tacos were all street style tacos. They were also generously loaded with meat, and all the different types of tacos we tried were delicious (carnitas, al pastor, carne asada). Carne asada was probably my least favorite but only because the flavor of the other tacos were so good. The spicy surf and turf was generous on the filling which was great. Every bite had a nice mix of flavor and shrimp. It was tasty overall, but I can't say I fully appreciated the mix of the surf and turf as the flavors blended. That said, it was still delicious! I appreciated that they gave us enough salsa and did not skimp out on that. We used everything they gave us. My one wish is that they gave us larger containers vs. all the small containers. While in Oceanside, we decided to grab a bite to eat. We really like Mexican food and so my husband found Los Tacos via the Yelp app. It was conveniently located near a shopping center so we knew that parking would not be an issue. Los Tacos is just off off the 78 freeway at the Jefferson Exit. With a larger shopping center being located nearby, make sure that you look toward the freeway to find Los Tacos. The signage is on the marquee but you could miss if if you're not paying close attention. The first thing that I noticed was that every seat was occupied indoors. That was a good sign! Therefore, we began to look over the menu. I opted for the garlic butter shrimp fajita but excluded items that I'm allergic to (i.e. guacamole)! My husband ordered the fish burrito and was definitely looking forward to indulging in this meal! We sat outside and waited for our food to be served. The shrimp was grilled but did not have any hint of garlic or butter. It was just grilled shrimp but didn't have any flavor to it. I absolutely love Mexican rice but this one tasted different from others. The meal seemed to miss the mark with me. The corn tortillas were freshly made and were pretty good though! Service at Los Tacos is great! It is a little cramped inside as they have to cram as much seating as possible into a small facility. Given the number of people coming and going as we waited for our food, I can say that this is definitely a local favorite. Unfortunately for me, it was alright.
