After reading mixed reviews I decided to give them a try on a sunday. I was in the mood for some chicken and steak tacos with mexican rice. Walking in it was a pair watching the game and eating, the food looked good. Greeted right away with a smile upon the order, I asked if I could mix the tacos she informed me the tacos come in 3. Unless it's Monday I was a bit disappointed I wanted chicken which she gave us a sample of it was lukewarm and well seasoned and steak, I couldn't mix it so I ordered 6 in total with rice added a side of cheese it came to 40 and some change with gratuity added. It wasn't worth it to me, I asked for the chicken well cooked she told me it was already ready. I didn't like that the steak was oily with an odd beef jerky taste to it my tortillas were soaked in whatever they used to heat up the steak rice was lukewarm and okay I wouldn't be back. read more

Found a new taco spot for my Taco cravings. Los Tacos located in Pines is a small Mexican cantina style restaurant. I was there on Taco Tuesday and place was packed. The waitress worked hard and was super busy taking all the orders. Despite being so busy, food came out rather quickly. We ordered the build your own 3 tacos: carne asada and cochinita for me. You may want to try their signature wet burrito which is smothered in queso but their tacos were flavorful and filling. Chips and salsa were a great complement. Truly additive chips. This place is fantastic! My family has been coming here since I was young, and we still go together. The plates are always huge, hot, and yummy. Especially the wet burrito! They are a small business so when it gets busy you just have to accept that they are running around helping everybody. My husband and I have been coming here since before the split in the original company that led to this location, back when a small Ignacio nacho was free during happy hour. We come a few times a year for our date nights while we are in the area. We often bring our extended family for meals. It's a tradition that has ended, unfortunately. The service was horrible. I saw two tables sitting against the wall not get any service. One guy got up to retrieve a margarita from the bar asking "is that my margarita?" and was told no. He never got his margarita! We were smart enough to order multiple at a time and I almost gave him one of mine but my husband said that would be weird. We had to get up to order our drinks (2 at a time) which led to comments by the staff, "borracha" (I lived in El Paso and Jaurez for most of my young life and speak fluent spanish) the same staff that has been serving us for years. (PS, no one was drunk. We just couldn't get service and were sitting up against the bar.) When the check came we saw that our table of two had an auto gratuity added. We are VERY generous tippers. Especially here because this has been "our spot" for what feels like forever. Now we understood why we didn't get any service. One of the patrons who didn't have anyone come by the entire 1.5hrs we were seated there walked out behind us. BEST BURRITO you will ever eat! Just writing this review my mouth is watering! Whenever I get the chance to make the drive or really when I can't handle the craving anymore I come here. It's a small hole in the wall but you'll walk in to a colorful and vibrant spot! You'll be greeted as soon as you walk in by the staff. You can choose where to sit and they'll bring you a menu. During the weekends when it gets busier there might be a wait. I love all the quirky sayings on the mirror. Read them. They're funny and good advice! To start off, I order the queso fundido with chicken instead of chorizo as an appetizer. It comes with a side of tortillas and chips if you ask. It's good, but it's not amazing. I like queso fundido served in the skillet because it gets crispy and burnt. Those are my favorite parts because it intensifies the flavor! Then, the main entree you have to order the Award Winning Wet Burrito! You can choose the type of protein you want. I always go with the carne asada. The burrito is drowned in the most delicious cheese sauce and served with chips. Most of the time I have to take half home because of how big and stuffed it is. Dessert time! I love their flan de caramelo drizzled with dulce de leche and served with two Maria cookies. They also have a tres leches and churros. To drink I get the horchata. We have visited Los Tacos many times. We usually get take out. We have friends who come 2-3x a year and stay and always request Los Tacos. They have very generous portions. Their queso's, salsa and chips are great. Their burritos are huge. We enjoy the rice and all sides. Their food is consistent. Their service has always been great. They are polite and friendly and when we have asked for changes to the menu they accommodated us with no errors. The ambience is nice. It is small but we have come back again more than a dozen times in 16 months. We would go again. read more

I was in the area and I decided to stop by to have some lunch. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a $10.99 lunch menu which is very rare nowadays. I was disappointed because the chips and salsa were ridiculous spicy. I assumed the reddish one was not spicy and I was very wrong. They do not offer mild salsa. The enchilada suizas are normally spicy, however, I edited to have it smothered with the cheese sauce. It's very delicious! We also had nachos as an appetizer, I'm not a fan of the thick crunchy baked chips I prefer thin. The restaurant itself is well lit with lots of natural sunlight and nicely decorated. It was full so I can tell that they get a lot of business. The server was nice but we had to get up and go over to the cash register and ask for a bag and to go boxes. The tacos were mediocre at best. I had the mahi mahi tacos and my wife ha birria tacos. I was two thirds finished with my meal before her tacos arrived. Decided to give this place another try and super happy that I did! I ordered the Mexican lasagna and it was super delicious! It was spicy and the chicken was well seasoned! I loved the flavors! It also came with beans and rice! I was super full from the lasagna that I didn't eat much of the rice, but my daughter loved it! Los Tacos is the best you will find in Pembroke Pines. I've been here several times and it always excellent. It's located right next to Dunkun Donuts on Pines Blvd. The parking lot is a bit awkward as there is only one way in and one way out. If you are heading west on Pines Blvd., you will need to make a u-turn to enter the plaza. Let me tell you that any inconvenience getting there or parking will be toally worth it. Their wet buritto is famous. I have had it and it is enough for 2-3 people. I love the chilequiles best. Their lychee margarita was amazing. Los tacos is definilty not using a margarita mix. I love reviewing taco joints. Why? Because tacos are my favorite food! I'm picky when it comes to Mexican food and specifically tacos so getting even 3 out of 5 stars is a pretty noteworthy. Very good deal! They offer four types of protein options to choose from for the Taco Tuesday deal. They were pretty good although I've had much better but for $2 you can't really go wrong. The reason I would normally come here is for their wet burrito. Their version of the wet burrito is nothing like I'm used to growing up in the Midwest but it's still very good. This is my first time getting tacos because we went with friends that wanted to meet up for the special so I decided to give the tacos a try. I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't ecstatic either. The service is pretty standard, no complaints. We arrived at about 6PM and had to wait about 25 minutes to be seated. The restaurant is on the smaller side. I made the bad decision of going to this place on Sunday. I went in, there were barely 4 tables. The waitress did not advise of the Sunday brunch specials. Took forever to bring chips. Ordered the tamal order and birria chilaquiles. Ufff. the tamal order was decent. But, then, the chilaquiles birria was not coming. They served a large order ahead of me. So after 20 minutes of waiting with a half empty place and the large table served ahead of me, I told the waitress that if the order was not ready in 5 minutes, it should be cancelled. She went to the back and told me that it was being prepared now. I said: They got two minutes. and it was there. I did not appreciate the look from the other waitress when they were talking. Came here for tacos Tuesday for late lunch. Hubby and I really enjoyed our meal. I can't recall the name of what I ordered but it was part of the lunch menu. It was so delicious! The spice was just right. The portion is really large for lunch special. I also had a sangria which was really and pretty strong too. The seating environment was comfortable. Los Tacos is a place that you might walk past a million times without noticing or ever walking in. If that is the case, that would be your loss. Los Tacos is a great find, one of those type of places that perfectly fit the description of a "hidden gem." Inside, it is definitely more festive than the rather nondescript outside. Do not get me wrong, there is nothing even remotely fancy about this place. However, I am a firm believer that Mexican food is best enjoyed in more humble surroundings. The interior might not be fancy, however it is bright and cheerful and so were the smiles of the staff. I had their supposed "Award Winning Wet Burrito." Now, I don't know if it actually won any prestigious award, but it was definitely a winner, at least to me. I am a huge fan of Mexican food and this place is definitely a great place and one that I definitely recommend. I have to give it five stars. read more

So happy to have found this place. We came in a Tuesday and they had some specials which was exciting. We ordered the mini nachos with chicken tinga and it was so delicious. The first time I can honestly say I have enjoyed chicken tinga. Usually it's super dry and lacks flavor but this was a hit! It was so delicious and juicy and well seasoned. Next was the shredded pork wet burrito covered in cheese sauce, it was delicious. I have nothing else to say about it but to order it! The shredded pork was probably my favorite and the burrito is massive. Last, the shrimp tacos super delicious and fresh and creamy with a little sweetness.
