We were seated quickly and our waitress was very nice and overall did well, however we did have a moment where I think she forgot about one of our friend's items. Food was delicious and my margarita was awesome. It was a bit louder in this location than others and less space to navigate so you're much closer to patrons walking by to their tables. I visited this restaurant yesterday with my daughter, and the experience was deeply disappointing from start to finish. We waited 40 minutes for two simple quesadillas while sitting on the patio. During that time, I requested water three separate times and never received it. Leaving guests outside in 80+ degrees, without water is not only irresponsible but unsafe. When I finally asked for the bill, because I was overheated and still had no water;the waitress argued with me, insisting that "it had only been 40 minutes," rather than acknowledging the issue or or bringing water (never received my ask). She then glared at me during checkout and refused to speak to me, despite the fact that I paid my full bill and did not request any refund. To make matters worse, when we received the quesadilla to go, it was stone cold. This level of disregard for customer care and basic hospitality is unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I hope management takes immediate steps to address these issues so no other guests have a similar experience. read more

It has been close to 10 years since I have been here and they seem to have renovated and changed up the menu a bit. Prices have risen, as expected I suppose with inflation. We got the quesabirria tacos and the fajita taco bowl. We were both very satisfied with our choices. I went with a group last night and we all had a great time! The happy hour $5 margarita was fantastic! I'd go back just for that! Our server tried so hard but they were pretty busy so service was a little slow. Not his fault. We had a range of distant entrees and everyone enjoyed their food. I was a little grossed out that my veggie fajitas had a few tiny chunks of chicken. Most people wouldn't care, except for people that actually order veggie fajitas. Honestly I use to dislike this place very much many moons ago. However, I've been on a kick of trying things again lately. Glad I gave them a try today. The food was pretty good. The food didn't take too long to come out. The portions for the tacos were very filling. Lots of meat inside of them. Flavor was great. The chips and salsa tasted good too. The horchata could have been a little sweeter, but I did enjoy it as well. Dislikes: The rice portions were small. However I wasn't a huge fan of the rice flavor. It needed a little more..something. It wasn't nasty, but just needed a little extra flavor. I was charge 2$ for creama/sour cream. That was definitely a high price for the little scoop you get. Also had to request for limes because we didn't get any. We didn't get any cebollas on our plate which is very important in Mexican dishes especially tacos. I have been a loyal customer of Los Tres Amigos for many years but this was the tip of the ice burg for us. I thought the cleanliness of this would've been changed with their new renovation.. WRONG. We always knew that they could approve on the cleanliness but this is just on a different level. To start, we were escorted to our table and the seat was covered in crumbs. Then I go to look at the menu is the table is filthy. Dried up liquid of who knows what. We proceed to order despite that. Then suddenly I look up and I see dust and little hairs falling from the overhead lamp right over the table. Lastly, when we got our food we started to see little bugs flying around our table. My family and I always order take out from this place through DoorDash (I'm actually in the process of ordering a carry out now) so far every single time we have ordered, the food has been on point. I don't ever recall a time where we have ever complained, I personally have always had a good experience with the food & the quality. There are other options for mexican cuisine around me, but we always end up ordering from this spot specifically because we always have had a great experience. We haven't had the pleasure of dining in yet, but definitely on our bucket list of places to go to! I will say the only thing that is missing that one of my other frequented Mexican restaurants has that Los Tres Amigos doesn't have is the Ranchero Sauce that they have at Grand Azteca on Maple & Haggerty, its like a sort of sweet style ranch sauce (if you can call it that) that's really good, so just a little hint, you guys should definitely add that to your menu! read more

I ordered three appetizer dips (guacamole dip, queso dip, and bean dip) from the Farmington Los Tres Amigos for my birthday party and was shocked to find no chips were included. When I called to ask, I was told that "chips do not come with dip appetizers for carry out orders" -- apparently this is their stores policy. This is misleading and confusing, since these items are listed under Appetizers, not sides, and nowhere on the menu does it say chips are excluded. Chips are not listed as a side or upcharge option either. The online photos even show chips with the dips. There's also no way to add chips when ordering online. As a paying customer, I expected honesty and accuracy -- not to be charged full appetizer prices for plain dip and then dismissed when I asked about it. Very disappointing experience. Until this is fixed, we will not be supporting this location again. read more

This rating is for service only. Let me begin by saying we love Los Tres Amigos. We have been coming to Los Tres Amigos since they opened and have always had a great experience. However, we have had this server more than once and it is definitely not representative of the restaurant. Our server Merhawee is probably in the wrong field. To start, it took a little while to get our server to the table, although he did walk by at least a few times. When he did finally come to greet us he was mumbling so much it was hard to understand him. He tried to rush a drink order, but we told him we were ready to order our meal. When the food arrived, he practically dropped my wife's plate on the table. He put my plate down, said, "alright" and took off. I finished my drink half way through my meal. Our server was walking by, so I asked for a refill. He looked at me and kept walking. Needless to say, I never got a refill. However, he soon emerged from the kitchen with a drink of his own. He came back with the bill and we paid at the register and left. The food was great, as always. However, I will walk out if I ever have this server again. This was not our first experience. This place used to be awesome. But the food has gone way downhill. Out of a heaping serving of beef fajita, there was less than two tablespoons of actual meat. That's about 5% of the plate. The rest was green peppers and onions. Almost no meat whatsoever. The piña colada's tasted like soap and did not contain any alcohol that I could taste. The fried rice and guacamole was bland. First time at this location. Can't say it was the cleanest place to dine. The waiter was kind however his English was not that well, which I can understand but it caused issues. I arrived to the restaurant for a birthday party, late, my group had just finished up their order, i ordered about 10-15 minutes after the group. I order three items for the table and one to go. I received two of the orders but not the third. I let my waiter know about my order, he just shook his head in agreement yes yes, give me a second. He left and did not come back (he took a while throughout the whole night visiting our table) however it was just about time to go so I mentioned my order again as well as my to go order, he said yes yes and only brought my to go order. I asked again and he just said one minute. Since we were packing up I went to request a refund on an order I never received and they told me they won't refund me because they brought my order out and it must have been eaten by someone else at my table because they only counted 3 orders of the same item. She then told me I will have to get the money from someone who ate the meal at the table but they won't be refunding me anything because they know what they saw. I then asked for a refund on the to go order because I don't want anything from you all. She said no we can't give you a refund. I left and my mom agreed to just pay and then ordered me take out. My boyfriend, his parents, and I went here for lunch today. I had heard of it before but never been. They have very reasonable lunch prices, served 7 days a week till 2pm, but I think we all opted for non-lunch items. I had the birria tacos, and I was pleased it was served with consommé, but they were pricey: about $15 for three. They were tasty but missing something... I'm not sure what. When dipped in the consommé they were definitely good though, and I'll have the rest for lunch tomorrow. They give you complimentary chips and salsa and I loaded up on that and probably should not have, because then I wasn't super hungry for my meal. The chips and salsa were very good though. Admittedly, I was a tad hesitant to dine here because of the restaurant rating (3/5 stars). I give my experience a 4/5. The service is a little slow, but the restaurant has a sign posted at the entrance speaking to this. Understandably, staffing has been an all industry issue since the pandemic. Our waitress Karen was nice. I would return to this restaurant solely for the quesabarrias!!! This new dish is a bonafide you need to order. The meat is tender, the cheese is layered so thoughtfully and the taco shell gives the best warm crunch with each bite. Chips and salsa are good and my margarita was outstanding--large, perfect flavor balance and strong. I'll pass on the guacamole and enchiladas next time--nothing to write home about. They do have one of the best ambiance I ever see in a Mexican restaurant. The place is clean and the decoration was good. We went an hour before the closing and they did accommodate all of us. The food service was good and was quick. Food - we ordered different kinds of dishes from menu and all of them were great. We loved our food and it was delicious. I ordered a chorizo chille and loved it. Drinks- ordered some margaritas and pinacoladas and felt the drinks could have been better. They dint taste good and are not worth the price. They could spend some time to rediscover there drinks recipe. Ambiance- ambiance was well decorated and loved the way they painted the tables, chairs and walls. This location has always been known for having phenomenal service, but it has been lacking severely since the addition of Merhawee. Not only does he not seem to have any people skills, he slams things down on the table, and doesn't ever give pop refills even when asked (although he has no trouble getting himself a drink) He's waited on us 3 times now over the course of the last year and I am always disappointed when I see him heading our way. The food was good, but overly salty and we found a hair in our chips. We came for anniversary dinner, but overall the night was lackluster and not at all up to normal standards. It's Taco Tuesday and the place is packed and jumping! I swear I heard a Jamaican Mexican song being played , weird as it may sound but it was cool. I tapped my feet and sipped on a jumbo Peach Margarita which was refreshing, and yes, I could taste all the alcohol in it. Thank goodness I get there just in time to get the last booth. This place was jamming. I was seated in a booth in a corner booth fit for four. The waitress Karen, was nice and quick. I ordered the steak fajitas quesadillas, which the steak was seasoned and tender it was filled with lots of grilled vegetables and cheese. Yes, I would definitely order another one. We're given two sauces to choose from one being a mild and one being a spicy both being delicious. The nacho chips for fried crispy and hot from the oil with just a little sprinkle of salt and we were in business. I will be returning to this restaurant again or taco Tuesday or any other day. We mentioned it to the waiter when he brought the rest of the food and he offered to heat the food or replace it. I had already tasted my Chile relleno and felt pretty confident that hot or cold it was not good. Our waiter gave a 20% discount. Chile Relleno - temp cold, difficult to cut chili and processed cheese. Fish taco - hot but the oil the fish was cooked in was old.
