This place was disgusting. I ordered a cheese enchilada, cheese puff and a chalupa. The cheese puff was a rock hard upside down taco salad shell with cheese on it, the cheese enchiladas seemed as if they plated the enchilada and then stored them in a hot box for hours, crusty and dried up. The chalupa was an absolute joke as well. The rock hard upside down taco salad shell makes another appearance, but this time it covered in a thin layer of refried beans, a tiny drizzle of gravy, and then a pound of slimy lettuce on top. Impossible to eat with your hands or a fork. The flan I had was decent? The truly worst part of this experience was the service. I walked in, was sat by a host. Approached by the bartender, who literally just asked me "what do you want". Ordered a margarita, and when he returned with it, I opened my mouth to start asking a question, and he cut me off and said "server be right with you". Alright, heard, I get it, he had to get back to talking with his friends that were sitting across from me. Server didn't come to the table for 12 mins, I ordered my food. Once it came I tried to take a bite out of the chalupa (impossible) and the cheese puff literally made me laugh out loud. I pushed these items to the side, and they were prebussed away by another server. No questions as to why I didn't want to eat the hot food just delivered to me, if they could replace it or anything. As I finished choking down the cheese enchilada, the bartender came by again this time with my check. I stared at it a second, and then asked him if I could have some flan. I also wanted another margarita but he stomped away before I could ask. Immediately after that my server comes back (only the second time I had seen him), and asks 'you want something else?' I told him I asked the bartender for flan, but no, nothing else, just the bill. Maybe this place has some secret that keeps it up and running, because it's dingy and dirty and the food and service was atrocious. Don't know how they've made it this far. read more

This place is not good at all. The food sucks, their salsas aren't even great. We weren't even done and the guy came back and asked us for a tip..... who does that? I understand the tip isn't included with the food and they provided a service. BUT you don't go and ask for a tip when we're clearly still at the table talking. I went to the N Eldridge location tonight and there was a sign that said Margaritas for $3 something. I asked the hostess if that was for the large because there was a hand drawn picture of their large glass on the sign. She said yes and I asked because it was National Margarita Day and again she said yes. However when I got my bill they were over $7 each. When I questioned way they were so high and of course that hostess was gone, all the hostess and I guess the owner kept saying was that she was "new" and didn't know. So I guess in this restaurant the customer is never right and obviously their training program is worthless. I have been going to this restaurant for several years every couple of weeks or so. Will never go back! New to the area and tried this restaurant based on a recommendation from a neighbor. Went last night for Cinco de Mayo and the place was crowded, waited over 45 minutes to be seated. We got our food and the refried beans had an orange tint to them. I should've knew right then not to go any further, I took two small bites and I've been paying for it since midnight last night. Up every 30 minutes vomiting along with diarrhea. Stopped in for lunch with my husband earlier this week. We both had some time off since it was Thanksgiving week, and we thought we might try out this restaurant. We recently moved to the area, and have passed by this place often as it is at the back of our new neighborhood. The parking lot is always full, so we thought it was a good sign. Our waiter Antonio was awesome. Attentive and friendly. Our food was flavorful, and we liked the complimentary queso so much that when our small free bowl was done we paid for more). Overall it was a nice meal, the restaurant was clean and although there were several people there we were never left with empty glasses, our food came promptly, and we were checked on several times. Best way to describe this place is Mexican cafeteria food. Queso tasted like it came out of a can from Sam's. The fajitas were not seasoned and tasted bland. However they are cheap and their margaritas are strong which is why they got two stars from me. Go there to drink not eat. read more

My favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in the area. We usually order out, so I can't say much about the dine-in experience other than it's usually busy on the weekends, and I've never seen the place empty. The staff is always friendly. Now about the food. The rice and beans are always amazing. I have never been disappointed in the rice and beans, and that's kind of what makes a Tex-Mex restaurant worthy for me. Having good salsa is also important and their salsa is delicious. Warm, toasty, and perfectly spicy (most of the time). My favorite dish and the one I almost always order now is the Enchiladas Verdes with chicken. We come here most Sunday afternoons for lunch. It's our go-to happy place for Tex-mex in a calm environment with great service. The chips and salsa are delicious! My husband usually orders #14. We like the food here and we loved the margaritas , but we will no longer be dining at Los Tres Ranchitos. We went last Sunday and they had raised the prices of their jumbo golden margaritas to $10.50. That is crazy when there are other places selling them just as good or better for $8.95 or less. I understand that the tax law in Texas changed Jan 1, but it was to the benefit of the business who should have dropped their drink prices due to the fact that the tax they pay dropped from 14% to a 6.7%. Mixed drinks are now subject to the 8.25% sales tax. So if you add the 6.7% and the 8.25% the drinks should have only gone up 1% at most. Bad Los Ranchitos !!!! read more

Pretty good! I'd say this is in between TexMex and authentic Mexican. The carne asada tasted good, as did the guacamole, rice, beans, and enchiladas. The tamales were just average, kind of bland. One of my family's favorites! We eat here about once a week and love it. Always GREAT service & FAST! Food is delicious- my husband's favorite is the Strawberry Special- bacon wrapped shimp and fajita meat etc on a sizzling platter. My kid's love their enchiladas & I love their chicken & beef mixed fajitas. The margaritas are great and the prices are pretty cheap! The chicken tortilla soup here has to be one of the best in the city. Lots of veggies and shredded chicken.

3 stars is generous for this place in my opinion. The only reason even for 3 is that the service was great. Food far below average. Bland and not high quality. So far out of the tons of Tex Mex places we have tried, this is the only one my husband has flat out said he didn't like. Fried chicken chimichanga more like an overstuffed burrito with cubed chicken. Again tasteless. Shrimp tacos and charro beans tasted like something I probably could have made on my own. This Mexican Restaurant is top rated in Tomball for a reason. We went here because of it's high Yelp rating and were not disappointed. The queso is amazing as are the tamales. The service was maybe a little slow but we were a large party for a birthday so they were probably just giving us time to chat. Overall this place is great. I thought the restaurant was going to be really small looking at the outside since it is in a small shopping center but it is actually pretty big on the inside. It was however confusing to get to as yelp says it's on Spring Cypress but it's really on North Eldridge. read more
