If you're looking for a dog friendly, indoors oasis this summer, definitely check out Lost Generation Brewing. They specialize in beer and are one of the few places that allow doggies indoors. They also have an outdoor lot where they invite food trucks to come serve food! Parking is self parking on the street. The place was packed, but after waiting a few minutes we got a table. I liked the accents of wood everywhere and how people left notes written on napkins in the drawers of the antique furniture. For drinks, I tried the Love, Umma, which was a Korean beer that was developed by the owner, who is Korean and I loved the notes of ginseng and 누룽지 in it. It was light but also had a unique flavor. If you're not a beer person, they have great cocktails, like their Hemingway, which was a lovely fruity drink. read more

Recently checked out Lost Generation Brewing on a Saturday night and it's a vibe! It was my first time at a brewery and will not be my last. First, Anne is the manager and greeted us with warm hospitality and gave us a tour. We then ate from silver and sons which was delicious bbq. We tried different ipa , beers, and ciders m. This is really such a fun place to stop by if you're doing the beer trail or if we're just going to hang out. Sitting inside is super fun. You can see that they have the tanks in the back, it is a busier vibe inside. Outside, they do have a patio situation and you can order directly outside with the QR codes. I've done both, so it really just depends on what you're trying to get from your experience. The drinks are served super quickly. Also, they usually have a food truck or some type of food service on site to accompany. Any drinks that you're ordering. I love that this spot is so easily accessible by bike or by walking from the MBT, or even from the metro. This is overall just a really easy, fun spot to hang out at. read more

Lost Generation is one of DC's best breweries to visit. The space is huge and welcoming with nice exposed brick walls behind the bar, and they even have a lovely patio out front. It is right on the Metropolitan Branch Trail about halfway between the Noma and Rhode Island Metros, so it's a nice stop on a stroll or bike ride. Check their website because they frequently have events, such as live music, and while they do not have a kitchen of their own, they have rotating food trucks parked outside. My wife is a devoted hard seltzer fan, and she said Lost Gen's coconut-pineapple seltzer is the best seltzer she has ever had, even better than her normal go-to of White Claw pineapple. I tried it, and I can attest, it is 10/10. I prefer beer, so I got a flight. They have a few varieties, and the list is ever changing, which is fun, though I feel like the one area where they could improve is by offering a wider range of styles. Currently, they have three different pilsners and no stouts. The grave shift dark lager was my fave from the current choices, but I will be back to try others. read more

Came here for a sip and walk event and tried this place for the first time! It was so cute and allows dogs indoors!! So excited to come here next time with my pup. The drinks were great, we all had the dragonfruit Hemingway daiquiri which was super yum! The staff was kind and quick with our orders and its pretty decently sized place. Only thing I will say is noise does echo so any barking or small children (it is a family place so kids of all ages seem welcomed!) may be a little loud for anyone who gets overstimulated easily. One of the best breweries in area. I love all the beers they make but my personal favorite they have all the time is grave shift. It's a dark lager that hits all the right notes. We have been going to Lost Generation for a while now. They have a wide variety of beers and some other beverages as well. We are IPA people and we have loved virtually all of the IPAs that they have rotated in and out over time. The bar tenders are wonderful, the atmosphere is chill and friendly, and the dogs! Well, the dog viewing is awesome. My only quibble is that sometime ago, they decided to have the same food truck--Silver and Sons--pretty much everyday. They used to have a variety of food trucks, some of which were pretty good (especially La Michoacana, if I remember correctly). We are not barbecue fans, and we don't eat meat, so generally our only choice from Silver and Sons is the Mac and cheese, which can be good, but sometimes isn't. But Lost Gen lets you bring in food from elsewhere, so there's that. After a long review, I can sum up by saying that the beer, the vibe, and the very cool bar tenders at Lost Gen can't be beat! read more

THE BIG: Located in Eckington, this brewery has a speakeasy interior with comfy chairs and fun for the family. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here with my sister on a Sunday afternoon and it was nice! She raved about how good the beers are here and she wasn't wrong. We got the dark lager, two IPAs and a pilsner. All were great. I still think Other Half brewing is king of IPAs. The lager and pilsner here was very good. For the vibes, Lost Generation has the standard giant bar with beer taps with the placards of beers that they serve. They don't do traditional flights but there are individual pricing for the 4oz pours. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for four 4oz beers was around $18. Great vibes in the brewery and good beers. Nice to see more options in Northeast DC. read more

Came by with a group of friends for lost gen's 2nd birthday. It was my first time there and wow!! I was so impressed, especially as a non-beer drinker. I am not a beer connoisseur but I really liked lost gen! It was a comfortable atmosphere and I enjoyed the live jazz. Jazz is every Saturday night and it's free!!! I think they also have a Friday night show. This would be a great spot to hang out with friends. Plus you get to sample the ever-rotating selection of beers. There is enough variety that two trips are not the same. I visited in Feb, 2024 and tried the Tiger Spirit, POG Sour and Edge of Consciousness. My first impression wasn't stellar. Being that I live a couple hours south of DC, I don't think there will be a second visit to be had. My friend and I walked into a humid, packed nearly beyond capacity space. We squeezed up to the bar and ordered 4 tasters. We got the two seltzers on (strawberry lychee and mango passion fruit) and two sours (raspberry and cherry pie). There were no ledges, tables, bar space, literally anywhere available for us to go. As the only available spot, we maneuvered our way to the merch section and drank our tasters as quickly as we could so we could extract ourselves from the space. Three others were on their way to meet us, but they walked in after we were done and walked straight back out. I usually am a seltzer fan, but neither one was even decent. They were way too sweet and artificial. The raspberry sour was overdone and too acidic (coming from someone who has had way more sours in my life than I'd care to admit). The cherry pie was the unexpected standout. Both of us really liked it. It's cool that they're so popular but they should try to reconfigure the space to add more seating or standing options. It looked like they could've added ledges or really anything to accommodate the size of the crowd. read more

To perfect a craft, an apprenticeship of sorts if needed. The owners of Lost Generation Brewing Company did just that. They left D.C. for California to work at a prestigious brewery. Now they are back home with the perfect beer recipes. Enter Lost Generation Brewing Company. Inside a historic brick warehouse building in Eckington (no, NoMa, this is Eckington) just off the Metropolitan Branch Trail comes the city's newest brewery with a large mural-painted taproom open Wednesday through Sunday. Pet-friendly, bring your leashed dog and snag one of many tables, barrels, or bar seating. A small snack menu is offered (food trucks will eventually come on weekends) and beers are ordered at the bar. Seven beers, one sour, and two hard seltzers on tap, pours comes in 4 ounce cups or several times that for a full pour. They can also be purchased in crowlers. My friend being a beer guy enjoyed the "An Age of Islands." Enjoying sweet and sour drinks, the grapefruit gose was worth a taste, but the peach cobbler sour was AMAZING. It's not overly sweet. Well balanced, it may be my new favorite sour in the city (sorry, Shelter). Full pours range between $7 and $8. There's a tiny parking lot out front and plenty of street parking nearby. read more

Can't get enough of this place. I prefer to go when it's not super crazy with the afternoon dog-and-beer crowd. I'm glad they have that scene too, just not for me. Bartenders really know beer, and know their beer. Their menu is always creative and offers opportunities to try new things and new combinations. I really like that it's right on the MBT, and easy to hop on the bike and head in. I'd like if they had food on a more regular basis, but they're a brewery not pretending to be a restaurant so can't ding them for that. read more

Lost Generation is such a gem in the NE area. I walk past this brewery on the MBT all the time but this was my first time visiting. The staff were absolutely amazing, both friendly and helpful in explaining the beer options. I truly enjoyed hearing the owner's story of starting the brewery. It was great to hear about this family run business. Lost Generation had a great selection of beers especially IPAs, which are my favorite. They do not have food but they have rotating food trucks every week. You can also get a brewery tour here. The space is nice and open, and family friendly. NOMA, WASHINGTON DC - Darn fine microbrewery smack dab between the NoMa and Rhode Island Red Line Metro stations. Lot of thought went into this place - beer menus everywhere, which is a small thing but really common sense. The missus and I stopped here on a Saturday early afternoon while in NoMa, sat at the bar, and glad we did. The four beers we tried - four five-oz pours, $3.50 to $4 each - were uniformly decent to good, not a stinker among them (the fruited sour is very watermelon-y, am not a big Oktoberfest fan generally but this was a good one). Service was great - attentive, they kept our water glasses filled and the place was clean. Very dog-friendly joint. Not overly loud. We'd return. read more

Beers, bears (what I call most dogs incl my own), battle for a table. This place gets crowded and I wonder if it's feasible to expand outdoor seating to manage the noise inside the brewery when it's so crowded. It's a pretty sizeable space but when I went Saturday afternoon and there were clearly a couple recreational sports teams and many other clientele including all the barking dogs (which more dogs the merrier), the noise level was unfortunately the downfall of the whole experience. However, everything else was amazing from great variety of beers (pils, dark lagers, witbiers, IPAs, a dessert beer, etc) to delicious beers (my favorite was the Tiger Spirit), awesome BBQ outside, and so so so many dogs. As someone who doesn't like IPAs, I didn't have any of theirs but since the owners specialize in IPAs and Hazys (which are hit or miss with me), I'll definitely have to try them next time, and yes there will definitely be a next time. Based on the beer (quality and variety), I'd rank LostGen up on my top 5 in the area. I also have 3 stars (RIP), Red Bear, and Silver Branch up there. read more

My wife and I came here last weekend late on a Saturday afternoon for their second weekend and it was crowded which was nice since we got to meet new people. We tried tasters of all of the beers and our favorites we took home were the Feather Kitty IPA which they had a four pack of, the Peach Cobbler ala Mode, the Age of Islands IPA, and the Mango Passionfruit Seltzer that they put in crowlers. Overall, this is the best brewery in DC that is local based (the other being Other Half which is NY based). They don't serve a ton of food but there was a barbecue vendor outside that was wonderful. I actually kind of love this place. I ended up getting a few different beers on tap and they were all great. I came for the trivia with a group of friends and it was a lot of fun I really like the ambiance and the way that they've revamped the place It's very catchy and artsy and clean. You could actually hear the announcer when he's in going over the trivia questions and I think it's much better organized plus I like the prizes better, they give you discounts for the beer tab that you have accruing lol parking is on the street and thankfully in this part of DC it's always free and available. What a happening spot! Came here on a late Sunday afternoon and it was busy! Word is certainly getting around as I probably heard from 5 or so people in the past week how awesome Lost Generation is. They've got outdoor patio seating and a very spacious interior with barrel tables, picnic tables, and bar seating. The beers are really tasty with a range of IPAs. Staff were friendly and really helpful. It looks like they host a lot of activities as well (I had to miss out on trivia). I was dubious because I feel like there are way too many breweries in DC and some of them straight up blow :: cough city state:: cough. This brewery does a little bit of everything and with just enough selection that it's not overkill. Staff are knowledgeable and very chill. We set up camp early evening at the dining room table (feels like home!) and played bananagrams to our hearts content. My high school AP Psychology teacher, Mr. Pulliam, opened up this brewery with his partner, so I obviously had to check it out. I came with 2 other friends, so we got to try a few beers. They unfortunately don't do flights, which is a little disappointing because ordering by the 4oz glass is quite expensive. The beers were good and the Vietnamese coffee stout was stronggg. I love that they worked with Vietnamese-American coffee company Nguyen Coffee Supply to source their coffee. I'm disappointed in myself for not trying one of their IPAs, which is what they're known for. Will be back for that! The lychee seltzer also tastes like the little Asian lychee jello cup snacks, which instantly made me so happy. The space is huge and would be great for birthday gatherings, events and there's free, convenient parking available right outside. The location is about a 20min walk or 5min drive from a bunch of other bars and restaurants as well, so it's relatively convenient for a night out. read more

As for the beer, the Oreo Cookie Stout had a silky mouthfeel and tasty chocolate flavors, but was too sweet. The Dream is the Truth DIPA had lovely peach notes on a soft body, but the hops were muted. Another word about the pricing: I've been to dozens of breweries in the DMV and Lost Generation charges more per ounce than anywhere else (see the attached photo). If a brewery is going to charge more than Aslin, it had better produce top-tier beers. Lost Generation doesn't. Why would I want to go back? read more
