Two times visiting and both times I was very happy with my choice. Tucked in a side street in downtown Boone, LPB has a hometown feel, big city brewery presence and a truly remarkable menu. Unlike most "gastropub" type restaurants, LPB has some classics like pizzas, wings, etc. but even those take on a little twist. Not to mention they probably have the best selection of house wine I have every experienced (Jon Von Drehle). My family ordered wood fired wings and seasonal focaccia for apps, pork chop sandwich with fries and Big Red pizza was ordered for the main course. The wings were great and had a little bit of spice, which I liked. The focaccia was covered with tons-o- toppings and had a sweet syrup like sauce on it. I was not so much a fan of the sweet syrup covering but the rest was awesome. The pork chop sandwich and pizza were both great too. The pizza's seem to be a staple here and are made in 900 degree oven and come out very flavorful with a nice char on the bread crust. read more

This is a great brew pub in downtown Boone. Beer is excellent - particularly liked the Lost Providence IPA. They offer 8oz and 16oz pours, crowlers to go, and 64oz pitchers. Also four packs of 16oz cans to go. Food is good. Wood fired pizza, good burger, fries are fresh cut. House-made bread and ketchup. Prices are reasonable. One caution: avoid the bench seating next to the windows. Benches are about four inches too high, causing you to bend over to get your food. My back is killing me. We were a table of 4 kids and 4 adults after an hour of no mains or appetizers I complained to the manager and cancelled our order because they said it would be another 30 minutes before we got our food. This review is 5 stars because they seated me on my anniversary, and for that I'm incredibly grateful. I live in Winston Salem, and they allowed me to put my name on the list despite not taking call-ins that night. Additionally, I missed my time by 3 minutes, and they still seated me. So once again, I am incredibly grateful. However, we sat for an hour before we were told that they were out of a key ingredient for their Lost Province pizza, and we had to substitute. Changing pizzas wasn't an issue, but not being informed until we've waited for an hour is. Additionally, my wife and I kept seeing the manager (I think) staring at us throughout the night. I would have thought I was tripping if it hadn't kept happening. I digress. For anyone looking for incredible pizza, apps, and beer (with time to kill), LP is fantastic. The place is pretty accommodating for larger groups. They have some large tables upstairs. It's probably because we visited during summer but we had no issues with parking in the public lot next to the restaurant (also free after 5pm). They have some great beers (with pour options of 8oz and 16oz). The service was attentive we enjoyed the food. I especially liked that the menu was a bit more diverse than the standard "bar" menu. I forgot to take a picture but we really enjoyed their seasonal salad (melon, prosciutto, burrata and arugula). So impressed! Even though this place is close to ASU, it didn't come across to us as a student hangout. The food choices are foodie worthy, as well as the cocktails. A cidermosa? Yes, please! The jalapeño hush puppies were SO delicious! Served with honey butter and pickled veggies, I could have made a meal out of these. The seasonal Brussel sprouts were also delicious and unique with sweetness from figs. And we enjoyed the Big Red pizza, which was topped with freshly shaved mozzarella. We're here now and sat for over 15 min before acknowledged and that was because I alerted the manager. Our server (Omar) literally walked past us 5 times and never said anything so I didn't think he was our server. He even cleaned a table across from us and we were never acknowledged. It's disheartening When we confronted him, he said "no worries." Really? Then a table behind us sat for less than 3 min before water was brought to their table. I pride myself on good customer service and I'm really upset right now. Needless to say, he will receive zero tip, yet a note of how to better serve customers moving forward. I love Lost Province. The beers are tasty and the atmosphere is one of the best in Boone. The live music is always on point. The pizzas are unique and delicious. My favorite right now is the new Mountain Mama pizza, though I prefer it without bacon. I've had others, too, like the Lost Province, the Fun Guy, and random daily specials. They are v pricy at ~$16 a pop, so definitely try to split with someone or you'll likely be stuck with delicious leftovers. My friends always like to order the hush puppies with the whipped honey butter and jalapeño pimento cheese as an appetizer. I enjoy this a lot, but being born and raised in Charleston, I feel that I've had better for much cheaper. I think my biggest qualm with this place are the prices. Everything is pricy, and the quality of the food doesn't always match the high $$$ (though the food quality is , if that makes any sense). All in all, Boone locals definitely need to check this place out. If going with a group of folks, come here. If bringing out of town guests for food and drinks at a sit down dinner, come here. We've been going here for years and is is consistently delicious! Their menu is fantastic with a great variety so just about everyone will find something they like from vegetarians to kids, beer drinkers to fancy cocktail drinkers. We usually get pizza and their charcuterie boards are always great but I went with my mom the other day and she isn't much of a pizza eater (IKR?!?). Mom ordered the beet and arugula salad which initially I thought was super boring and I had an the hot chicken sandwich which is an odd choice for me. Her salad though was so delicious! The beets were amazing! Slightly charred from the wood oven creating a lovely sweetness when combined with their jalapeño honey-glaze. A simple salad done perfectly. The chicken sandwich was also delicious with a nice blend of heat and sweet from the jalapeño and apricot glaze. The bun was pillowy soft, not my preference but was done very well. Because of the soft bun and all the delicious toppings in the sandwich I would not order this to go, the bun wouldn't hold up at all on delivery and it would be a bit gummy upon consumption at home. I'd probably order it without the tomato next time, it really didn't add anything to the sandwich. This was the first brewery I went to during my visit to Boone! Convenient location (downtown) and there's a parking lot right across the street. Great beer - I loved all their IPAs! I got a flight so I was able to try multiple things and enjoyed all of it. Their pizza was great, too. We got the Lost Province (a bit on the sweet side) and the Depot Street (a more savory flavor). They balanced each other really well and it was just enough for 3 people. Service was good, food came out pretty quick, and we waited about 15-20 minutes for a table. I'm not usually one to complain about food and have never written a review like this, but what my wife and I just endured was too atrocious to not share with potential guests of this self proclaimed "gastro pub". We have had several negative experiences in the past with their food quality (one of which prompted us to boycott this place for over a year), but I won't get into that. We finally decided to give it another shot tonight (against my better judgement), and I have never been so disappointed with a meal in my life. The pizza was unbelievably soggy while, simultaneously, inedibly burnt. I would almost be impressed they even achieved this feat if I wasn't so irritated that I'm still hungry after spending $60 on trash. My wife ordered shrimp on her salad, and luckily they packaged them on the side because they were also inedible. She commented on their rancid smell as soon as she got back in the car with our food. I remained hopeful and was the first to try one once we got home and it tasted just as bad as it smelled (go figure huh?), and was completely mushy. They managed to actually put the dressing for her salad on the side, but this might be the only thing about this meal that was remotely acceptable. Her lettuce was not even cut up in the least; they literally threw entire leaves of Bibb lettuce in the takeout box. They also must have just washed it or pulled it out of water without attempting to dry it because there was literally a puddle of water in the bottom of the takeout box. It more so resembled a puddle of rainwater with a stepped-on head of Bibb lettuce resting in it than a salad. Lastly, the bread pudding (which I remained despondently hopeful for after powering through the repugnant excuse for an entrée) was, you guessed it, also inedibly burnt. It looked and tasted like they slapped it right in the carbon-crusted pizza oven that they desecrated my first charcoal treasure in, and proceeded to throw it from a distance into its final resting place. I managed to begrudgingly eat the top layer of the bread pudding (trying not to get any of the significantly burnt bottom and sides) with the help of a generous ice cream chaser with each bite to somewhat mask the lingering burnt taste which endured throughout. Reference the pictures below: -There are no blueberries in this dessert; it was supposed to be a peach pecan bread pudding. -I transferred the pizza onto a paper towel to try to wipe away some of the revolting, black grime, but this only managed to further disgust me. -I asked my wife to leave the last leaf of lettuce in the "rainwater puddle" for a picture to show how large the lettuce was that was served. The amount of water in the box was bewildering. Do yourself a favor and don't even entertain the idea of eating here. We are only in North Carolina for a week, but we are definitely planning on coming back to this place. We ordered the cheese platter two share (pictured) with two different artisanal locally made cheeses. Came for lunch to celebrate our developmentally disabled son's 21 birthday. Our server made him feel very special -- even though he wasn't crazy about his first beer ;-) Service was terrific, as was the food.
