I remember this in mid 2000s when it was a dive bar called J&Bs. News flash, it's no longer dive'y...it's impressive how well they incorporated an indoor and outdoor area in the back. It's modern and very inviting. There's also seats outside along the wide sidewalk. Aside from ambiance the food was surprisingly tasty and appetizing, which I mean they present them well. The service was great, which is what I always expect around the mission. People are just a little more genuine from all industries. Maybe I'm just missing the life on the city, nonetheless, I had a great experience. Will definitely find a way to come back. read more

Stumbled upon this cute bar on a Sunday night and it was still filled with people (so many restaurants and bars don't even open on a Sunday night in SF so this was a rare find). We tried the Antidote in hot since I've never tried a hot alcoholic drink before - it was surprisingly quite good! We also got the Lost Resort which is their namesake drink and delicious as well! The ambiance was very unique and nice since we got the patio portion but it's also not outdoors (has a cover over the top) so it was still warm and peaceful. The ambiance of the main area seemed very different when we walked through it when we were leaving and was more like a bustling bar whereas the patio was really romantic and easy to talk in. read more

After a long and productive day in San Francisco I decided to get a late meal in the Mission District. The Lost Resort was perfect. They seated me at the bar and everyone was friendly. I was greeted by the bartender who promptly took my order. My food arrived fast and was perfect. Very flavorful and good portion size. I've actually had both the cocktail and mocktail version of the antidote and don't really taste the difference! I also think I've had it both ways - hot & cold hahah. Have visited Lost Resort several times and it seems to get better with each visit. Beautiful bar inside along with a nice fun colorful outdoor patio and some additional sidewalk seating. Drinks: Disco Daiquiri - boozy, sweet and tart. This is definitely not a classic daiquiri had some slightly herbaceous notes from the thyme and a little bitterness from kumquat. 50/50 Martini - so smooth, definitely gin forward with a beautiful texture and a slight floral note, even non Martini fans would like this rendition Food: Baked Oysters - good flavor, creamy, toasty, slightly spicy. The oyster gets a bit lost underneath the topping. Esquite Mac & Cheese - really rich cheesey and creamy sauce coating al dente pasta shells with bits of sweet corn throughout. Thrasher potatoes - just really awesome fried potatoes get these for the table you won't regret it! Mochiko Chicken Bite - lightly breaded chicken pieces with lots of savory seasoning. The chicken fat hot sauce is the perfect foil like a very tasty spicy mayo. Sourdough Clam Beignets - these were just okay, slightly dense beignets with a creamy clam sauce piped into each one. What a great place! Convivial vibe, short but simple and superlative bar food menu, and fun, delectable drinks. Quite large for a restaurant/bar in SF- the enclosed patio area adds a lot of extra space. This was our last stop in our Saturday of "bar hopping." Oysters are always what we end up eating when my friend and I hang out together and these fresh and baked oysters were so perfect! The nachos were a great shareable snack to top us off. Tl;Dr: Cozy interpretation of a great spot on an island in paradise somewhere, with an amazing one-two punch of solid food and cocktails. Great value on the menu, good vibes, you can't pick a better place to kick back on a sunny day. Truth be told I was pretty heartbroken the Jay'n Bee Club closed down as they used to make one of the best pizzas in town. When I heard it had turned into Lost Resort I had to see what they did to the place and MAN, what a makeover. Walking into their sunlit space was like being transported to Maui, Hawaii. Island vibes are aplenty here and their menu reflects that with pokis, ceviches, crab cakes, and all manner of tropical themed dishes. The standouts are undeniably the mochiko chicken, which is just a master class of crispy chicken. You could eat that alone by the bucket full, which is saying something because I've seen it done 50 ways all over town. The drinks are all rocking and unpretentiously done, with only a few coming over $14. That and a healthy menu of beers and wines makes this most definitely the spot to kick back with some friends for a few hours or more. They have a back patio with plenty of lounge spots for groups. Service is always stellar, I've been here numerous times and they've always been on top of it. My only critique would be to shuck the oysters a little cleaner, I get them often and they occasionally have a little grit / ice on them. Small potatoes. All in all I definitely rank this as one of the better spots for food or drink in this neighborhood. The pear and apple were a unique touch Chilaquiles- pretty good Chicken and waffles- amazing this would be my choice again; chicken was breaded more like orange chicken cubes than like southern chicken but I loved it; the waffles were a good bounce my dense; they're was a spice flavor to the syrup that was delicious Service was all right. After running a couple of errands in the area, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by for dinner, since it looked like a nice place with a cute relaxing patio. I appreciated the island bar theme with the decor and even the menu items, which was pretty charming. There was surprisingly a bit of a wait even on a Tuesday night, but the waitress checked up on us pretty often and had us browse the menu online to speed things up a bit so overall it wasn't too bad. We ordered the burger along with the fish and chips, and shared a cocktail (the lost resort). The cocktail was tasty but expensive, although that's generally the case in SF. The burger was pretty standard, nothing special but still good. The fish and chips came with two pieces of fish, and one of my pieces of fried fish was excellent and crispy and hot and delicious. Strangely though, the second piece was kind of soft and almost underdone (the batter was floppy) which was pretty disappointing after having had the first piece. The fries with both the burger and the fish and chips were also a little disappointing -- they actually tasted quite good but they were cold and almost a little stale. It tasted as if they had been sitting for quite a while before they were served. I suspect we might have come during an off night, because it definitely seemed crowded and the food service seemed a little backed up. Overall I'd say the biggest thing this place has going for it is the vibe / atmosphere. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but in terms out outdoor dining scenes go, this one was pretty nice read more

I had one of the mocktails with ginger, lemon, and honey (they have non-alcoholic drinks, but they're not listed on the drink menu). It was like a nice lemonade. Not exactly my favorite mocktail, but it's a lot more fun than water. The potato tacos were interesting! It was 3 soft flour tortillas lined with fried cheese, stuffed with potatoes, and topped with a creamy sauce and pickled red onions. A great option for vegetarians. It came with a side of brown chunky sauce that I could not, for the life of me, figure out what it was made of. Overall, Lost Resort is a nice place to catch up with friends and to grab a bite and drink. There wasn't a wait for a table at 6:30pm on a Saturday night, but the place filled up rather quickly after. The choice of music was also good though super loud, which made it a little hard to hear and talk with friends. The menu is your standard fare, serving typical bar-quality food (i.e. tacos, nachos, burgers, fries, etc.) but with a bit of sophistication (like that fried cheese in the tacos). Came here to check out the vibes. The service staff are very friendly and social. The drink menu is also pretty unique and seems to rotate every so often. I got the highland peach which had the highland 12 year scotch with peach liqueur. Not my favorite as it reminded me of a strange taste. But the holy diver was a really good one with a bit of the coffee and coconut coming through the mezcal and pineapple. My only complaint is that it was quite small for the price. The quality of crab was good though. The sangria was delicious, spiced and light. The only qualm was that it was a little pricey compared to drinks I've had from other restaurants in the area and comparable restaurants. They had a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Probably not meant for parties of more than 4. The staff were very friendly and attentive. An updated review: Still love this place just the same, the service is fantastic, the owner is great, and the food is delicious. This has become mine and my boyfriends neighborhood staple bar. Had to mention that they have a large awning (is that the word for it? Probably not) over the top of their patio now to aid in keeping the patio warm. I also think it's to create shade so when it is really hot in the mission you'll have a place to duck from the harsh sun. They also installed quite a bit of overhead heaters so we were toasty the entire time we were there. It was fantastic, because I have a specific memory of being very cold one day when we were out on the patio. Seems like when something is needed at Lost resort, the owner doesn't hesitate to tend to that need. Love lost resort! read more

My friend recommended this bar, since it's literally a block down from where he lives. We came here one night, and it was great, no wait whatsoever, we just walked right in. I can't say it's the same caliber as Trick Dog or True Laurel, but this is a very good second option just in case you don't want to wait eternity at those places. The service was great here, very attentive and quick to take our orders, and also deliver our drinks. I also thought the inside theme was cute, like you were lost at sea/aquatic things. We didn't get any food here, but the table next to us had a burger and fries, which looked and smelled quite amazing!!! Will definitely return another time.
