So I was around the beltline and I was walking back to my car and I stopped here because it was a hot day and I needed something to cool off. Around here you have to kind of get parking home if you can because there is no dedicated parking but there's street parking there. Just be careful in aware because it's a residential neighborhood and you'll be parking around or in front of somebody's house. I ordered mine the last time I went and it took about 7 minutes but the guy was super cool about it. They had a lot of people out there so I understood. But he was really chill and we joked a little bit while he's putting my order in. There is no inside so you have to usually take it to go but in the same breath they have outside seating and little tables there so you could actually sit down and eat and drink or read a book or whatever the case may be. This is a small snack and smoothie shop and you can find some pretty healthy options so you can get the sandwiches if you're looking for that. But it's not a grandiose list of sandwiches, but they have like a egg and cheese sandwich. Things like that that are light bites. They also have plenty of juices and smoothies if you want to go in that direction. The last time I went I got the protein one and it came with 25 G of protein so that was a big win. I was visiting Atlanta and had just gotten a bagel and decided to ask Siri to find a smoothie place near me. I must say I've had many many smoothies in my life, and this ranks up there with just about the best. Needing a light dessert, I found this fruit shop on a street corner. The location is closer to both the beltline trail and the MLK complex than I would have guessed. I felt a little silly ordering just fruit and missing out on the coconut cream, but realistically, the reason most of us don't eat enough fruit is convenience. Having some fresh fruit cut and peeled appropriately is not nothing, and in a lot of tropical areas (and in NYC, as of recently), this is quite common. It makes you feel like you are beachside. It goes well with the menu items that they serve. I placed an order for a veggie sandwich, a ham and cheese sandwich, a smoothie, and a Cuban coffee. It took a very long time for my order to be prepared. If I had to guess it was about a 30-45 minute wait. While I enjoy the food I do not think I will be coming back any time soon simply based on the wait time. My food was as tasty as I recall it being years ago. Everything was fresh, and it was clear that the food was made to order. The complimentary nuts on the side for the sandwiches and the umbrella on the smoothie add a nice touch. They also have coffee and ice cream. My boyfriend and I got a pavo del ocho sandwich (turkey and swiss cheese), Iwanna guanabana smoothie, and a Cuban coffee with coconut crema. The sandwich was really delicious, especially since we added avocado to it. The smoothie was good as well, very creamy and smooth in texture. One of the best Cuban sandwiches places I've been to! This place is definitely a hole in the wall. I probably wouldn't have ever discovered this place if my sister didn't take me! Upon walking in I thought it was just a smoothie place but they actually do a few sandwiches. We ended up having lunch here and ordering the pavo del ocho sandwich, the iced Cuban coffee, and the Guanabana drink blended with coconut crema and water (off the menu!).
