I've been here a few times and always thought it was ok. I hadn't found anything that I really liked. Today, that changed when I ordered the chicken chimichanga. The amount of chicken inside was plentiful, as were the roasted corn and green chiles. If I would change anything, it would be to shift the ratio towards more chicken, but it was still really good. The abundance of queso and chile sauces was also really appreciated. The standout component on the plate turned out to be the "Guacamole Salad" (Guac on lettuce with some pico). It was so good! I wish there was more of it. Service was great and the large patio perfect for hanging out. I definitely know what I'll be ordering next time. read more

My stacked enchiladas were okay, I think other dishes are more worth trying like the flautas. I would definitely come back for their margaritas. I got the myriachi marg ($8), which was strong in their tequila but tasted great overall. All of their margs r under $10~. Parking is super easy in their private lot around the restaurant. I don't even know how to say the name of the place but my friend that lives in the area suggested we stop by since they were new to the taco game so he wanted to give it a try. It doesn't strike me as a Mexican restaurant. It gave more of a dive bar type vibe but there's nothing wrong with that. I tried the Momma's Tacos, their beef tacos and loved that they offered a choice between soft and hard shells. I went with the soft shells and the beef was flavorful seasoned just right and hit the spot. The rice wasn't very tasty. I am not a beans person so I can't comment on it. But let's talk about the real star of the show: the crab queso dip. It's absolutely amazing. It was rich, creamy, and packed with chunks of crab. It's worth a trip just for that alone. The service was great, too. Our waiter was attentive and consistent, keeping our drinks refilled without us even having to ask. This might seem minor but I appreciated it. I can't believe I've been driving by here so often and never saw it. But I finally did and I'm happy about it. First, everyone here is so friendly. Though I've only gotten to-go orders each time I'm always greeted when I come in and acknowledged when I leave. I recently ordered the stackable enchiladas and they were delicious. I don't normally like black beans but these were pretty good. Also, the red salsa that comes with the chips and salsa is exceptional. Not too spicy, it's just right. I actually stopped in for the first time on Superbowl Sunday. They were crowded but I was greeted by two servers which I appreciated. Unfortunately first tried this place literally the day before we moved out of Atlanta (womp womp) but takeout from Elmyriachi was just what we needed after a long day of moving. Even though it seemed pretty busy, the wait time for our takeout order was pretty reasonable (just half an hour). Chips and salsa and guac are great, my dinner buddies loved the chips, which do seem freshly fried and are nicely seasoned, although a bit oilier than average. Salsas are delicious. We did have leftover chips and honestly they were still good the next morning. I had the Thai burrito. I'm usually pretty skeptical of fusion items but I was trying to find one that had rice and also no cheese. Turns out the Thai burrito is actually really tasty. I love the combo of rice and eggs in a burrito, and the broccoli is awesome and still has a bit of crunch. Even though I was starving by that point in the day, that burrito is still so huge that I needed to be horizontal immediately after eating it. read more

Definitely kid friendly environment and casual ambiance as the restaurant had tons of children eating with their families. I ordered the tofu chimichanga, and it was absolutely deliciou flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I also tried the Myriachi drink, which had a strong pour and was just as tasty. I sat at the bar, and while my waitress was polite, she was pretty indifferent. That wasn't a big deal until I ran into an unexpected issue--Elmyriachi does not accept tap-to-pay in any form. I only carry my phone especially to such a casual eatery, so I was caught off guard when I saw the small sign halfway through my meal. When I explained my situation, my waitress showed no concern and didn't even check on me afterward. She actually didn't make eye contact with me again until I paid the bill. I ended up asking the couple next to me to cover my meal and Zelle-ing them double the amount, which put a damper on an otherwise great experience. My only real complaint is that this policy needs to be clearly stated on their website and at the entrance. If you go, bring a physical card or cash. Otherwise, the food and drinks are worth it. There were lots of families, so it actually cleared out as the night went on. They have all the classics. We got queso, a burrito and chicken quesadilla. It was terrible when I came with a friend and just as bad when I came just for drinks a second time. My friend and I waited about 15 minutes before the guy came to our table (after passing by several times). I enjoyed the nachos and the pork rinds which were tasty. They forgot my queso however which I asked for on the side. Then made excuses that it was burned but offered no recourse. They have a parking lot which is great for the area! They do charge for chips and salsa which is meh. And I think when my friend and I came for drinks we were charged $4 for chips and salsa but maybe that's the price. I've been to El Myr exactly twice. The first time, in December 2015, wasn't really my bag. I remember being served some brisket tacos that were lost somewhere in the hipster BBQ trend that was sweeping the city at the time. The meat was sweet, like Kansas City sweet; the zing of a proper and savory taco was not really decipherable. I didn't return for about eight years, and I love Tex-Mex. El Myr is a standby in the Kirkwood square, now serving for almost a decade, I think. They are Kirkwood-famous for the bar, which offers a nice selection of you-guessed it margaritas and some other swell cocktails. True to form in this beer town, they have an extensive draft list featuring some beloved local and regional beers. I was persuaded to return by my hungry children and a partner who agreed that we would not be cooking tonight. Anyway, it had been so long that I forgotten what the place looked like on the inside. The outdoor dining is spacious and sunny, with ample shade features to block the late-summer blaze. The crowd was pleasant and seemed kind of hip - seating was at about 70% at 5:00pm on a Sunday, and there was lots of pleasant chatter. Service was congenial and honestly, pretty fast. With the current table occupancy, I expected a much longer wait. The servers were extremely kind to my kids, who were plied into silence by a salsa sampler. So, I ordered the flautas. If you have not tried, they are a Tex-Mex standby where a protein is tightly rolled in a tortilla and deep fried. These were filled with chicken. Very tasty dish, the meat was well-seasoned and the portion was pretty generous, with three big ones coming out on the plate. They were blazing hot and served with some queso for dipping. Kids both nabbed their usual quesadilla and choccy milk. They've redeemed themselves (in my memory anyway). I think they've settled into a more classic Tex-Mex niche and we had a very pleasant meal. read more

My husband and I stopped on after we did the 'Bridgerton Experience' down the road. It was pouring rain and we were in our 'ball' attire. We sat in the covered 'outside' seating. Our waiter was fantastic, I unfortunately have a severe allergy to jalapeños. And asked if there was any in the queso. He informed us that they were, and made a suggestion for a different appetizer. After we ordered our waiter came back with the head chef who spoke with us about how many of there things had jalapeños in it. They stated their top priority was to make sure I was safe but could also enjoy the food. They went above and beyond to make sure I got something amazing and safe for me. I have NEVER had an attentive experience like that at any restaurant. Not to mention the food was DELICIOUS! We will be going back for sure. read more

Chimichanga and burritos are large and yummy. I would skip the tacos {in comparison to neighboring spot} the tacos are pretty small and lack much filling. If you are into cocktails the jalapeño margaritas made with a jalapeño bride and you can get it to go in a serving for two which is awesome. The food was magnificent, However, we did come into contact with a server who was touching the patron dog and did not wash your hands and proceeded to continue serving other patrons. she touched and petted the female customer's dog ( who was in the restaurant @ the table), in the laps of its owner ).... The same server continued to serve other patrons !!??? WTF !!! Without washing her hands !!!!!!! Seriously , It is understandable that sometimes people need comfort pets with them, but there must be a limit .....in particular when it comes to server who was touching and feeding another patron's dog without sanitizing her hands... I truly watched her process while she moved forward to serving other patrons. Just wash your hands Ma'am after touching other folks pets !!! read more

I came to this location for the first time on cinco de Mayo and had a great time. I returned today by myself just for a quick drink and to enjoy the little bit of sun on the outside bar patio. The host was very nice and was accommodating when I asked about the outside bar seating. She informed me that the bartender was going to open the window so I could sit at the outside bar. I used the restroom then sat at the normal bar inside to wait for the outside bar to be opened. The male bartender made eye contact with me multiple times but did not greet me. Instead he goes and takes a tables order. When he returned to the bar he finally asked me if I'm placing a Togo order. I said no, I'm waiting for the outside bar to be opened. He didn't say anything. He just went back to making drinks for the other table. The female bartender returned And said hi but she looked pretty busy with bottles in her hand so I didn't want to bother her for a menu. At this point I felt very neglected and the bar wasn't even full. I felt like I was irritating the male bartender with my presence so I decided to just leave. The host was concerned but I wasn't feeling the vibe of the bartender. As a fellow bartender of 10 plus years, I know what genuine customer service looks like and for whatever reason, the male bartender didn't feel like showing it to me. The customer service is cool as long as you don't get Erica as a server and whomever her dirty blonde, short haired, blue eyed "manager" is as a "reinforcer" of bad service (he's pictured with a mask on). C.J. is his name...if they're even telling the truth. Erica's bad customer service was so evident that me simply pulling out my phone, made her duck behind the bar to hide who she was. (I wish the video would post.) Olivia... she comes off cool but she gossips about customers as if she knows them personally. She projects her company's bad business on the customers as if the customers are wrong. They have gossiped so much about me, specifically, I feel famous when I arrive. They talk negatively about me because of my outspoken disdain for their previous mistreatment towards me as a loyal customer. Thankfully they're close to my work and I can get a margarita quickly.
