If I could give this place zero stars I would. When my appointment was originally made it was for 3:15 pm and it was made months in advance. About a month after the appointment was made I get a text saying they pushed my appointment back to 3:30 pm to which I wasn't too bothered by seeing as it was only a 15 minute difference. Prior to my appointment I was getting multiple reminder texts and emails to confirm my appointment for 3:30 pm. Then the day of the appointment comes around and I get a call at 2:30pm and they are asking if I can get to the spa at 2:45 and I tell them I can't because I was still getting ready and I live 30 plus minutes away. Then they ask if I can get there at 3:00 and I tell I probably couldn't be there until 3:15 at the earliest. The person on the phone huffs and puffs about it and tells me that the girl doing my facial/scalp massage wants me there as soon as possible. I was starting to get turned off by this place already just from the phone experience because they push my appointment back so I plan for that then they want to rush me in and get annoyed that I can't get there when they want. I finally arrive at the place around 3:20 and they have a maybe 10 year old running the desk and I tell him I'm here for my appointment and he gives me a form to fill out. My husband notices that they close at 5 so I start wondering why they offer appointments so late & I get a feeling they are going to rush through my appointment. As I'm looking around I realize this place is not a spa it's a nail salon. The lady that's waiting for me to fill the form out is walking around making fun of a customer and I just immediately felt like I wanted to leave. So far every experience I've had with them has made me feel uncomfortable and has been unpleasant. However, I decide to go through with the services because it was a birthday gift and has already been paid for. By the time I get back to the room and settled it's about 3:40/3:45. Each service (the facial & the scalp message) was supposed to be an hour and a half total. This was my first time getting a facial (and it was specified 3 times for a sensitive skin facial) and the lady giving me the service didn't explain anything to me just started the process. She never warned me when she was putting something hot on my face and then the hell started. She started poking my nose with something extremely sharp. I had something over my eyes so I couldn't see what was going on but I was in an extreme amount of pain I kept wincing and trying to pull away from her and she never asked if I was ok or explained what she was doing. After that painful experience was over she then proceeded to put what sounded like some sort of plastic bag over my face and I couldn't breathe very well because there wasn't a cut out for my nose and barely one for my mouth. She then left the room. When she came back she took it off and started my other hellish experience of the scalp message where she literally dug her nails and dragged them across my scalp over and over until my hair became a rats nest. She kept trying to message my scalp, neck and shoulders and I had to ask her to please go softer because she was putting such excruciating force I wanted to just get up and leave!! None of my experience with her was pleasant and I didn't enjoy either of the services. She also stopped at 4:55 and said I was done. Again the services were supposed to total an hour and a half (not that I actually wanted to endure a second more of it BUT my sister in law paid for an hour and a half of service that I did not receive). I get up to put my shirt on and I'm sore everywhere from my scalp to behind my ears and my face was RED! Then I look at my hair and it's so tangled and frizzed out I couldn't believe it!! How could she leave my hair looking like that I didn't bring a brush! Luckily I had a hair tie in my purse to put my hair into a somewhat presentable bun so that I could walk out to my car. I will never come back to this place and to top things off they refused to refund my sister in law and denied everything!!! read more

Absolutely love Lotus Day Spa. It's quiet, relaxing, and all of the staff are exceptionally professional. They do take walk-ins but in my opinion, making an appointment is the better option. Overall had an fairly good experience. I went in for a pedi, shellac mani. My manicure was done by a 16 year old girl named Jenna. She did a wonderful job, she was very gentle and took her time. She made sure i liked what she was doing and she made sure it was perfect. She was amazing. On the other hand, i had and older gentleman doing my pedicure. When he was filing my toe nails down, he filed one so low it started to hurt as he kept going. Then when he was massaging the lotion and oil on my legs he was putting way to much pressure. I kept pulling my legs away and he'd just pull them back and keep going. He was way to rough & i had bruises when i got home. Not okay! Now onto the polish, i chose the most generic color, WHITE. You would think if the polish is running out he would go get another one. For about an half an hour, he kept polishing my big toe and taking it off. Because there was no polish on the brush, it would dry up and leave clumps. There were missing areas that hadn't even been touched with polished on multiple toe nails. The whole ambiance in the spa reeked of southern charm. I haven't never experienced such a funny and friendly staff. I had the honor of having Ms. Jayleen work on me. She most certainly takes pride in her work because she loves what she does. On top of having a stellar staff, they are authentically clean. They sterilize and sanitize ALL their equipment. Anyone who knows me, knows that am OCD when it comes to cleanliness and not once did I see anything that was off-putting. Do not let the location of this day spa fool you. As you walk in the peaceful, calm environment begins to take hold. They quickly greeted me as I walked in, asking how I could be helped. After assuring me it would only be a few minutes, they asked me to sign in. I chose my polish and took a seat. As for their selection of polishes, they use Zoya. The color range is extensive, so don't worry if you're use to OPI, I promise they have a color similar. After a few moments of waiting, I was taken to the pedi chair. As I sat down, I noticed there were limes floating in my water. I have never had this before, but loved the aroma it gave off as I was sitting getting a massage from the chair. The music playing in the background made for a serene and calming experience. I sat and explained what I'd like and issues I've had with other spas, and she listened intently, reassuring me that this wouldn't be an issue. Then, she went to town. Cleaning, cutting, filing, and buffing...an hour later (yes, an hour!) she started exfoliating my legs and massaging them with oil. She then applied the lotion and cleaned off my toenails. Making sure she got all the little extra skin that she may have missed, she then polished my toes. I can honestly say that I have never experienced a spa like this, where for the great price of 30 dollars, you get an hour and fifteen-thirty minutes of a pedicure. The owner reassured me that everyone who works there, takes their time, learns the way they do it there, and doesn't rush. I felt extremely reassured that they have a quality of work and no one, no matter where they're from is going to change that. The owner, Tina, constantly checks in on you, and asks if there is anything she can do. It is apparent that she has a passion and love for what she does and the spa that she owns. She even said, if there is anything they can do, or change, for me to please let her know. She was just so adorable and sweet you couldn't help but feel extra special! So, with this said, if you're in a rush and want a quick pedi, this isn't the place for you. If you want to relax, get a great pedi without a time constraint, come here! I have visited the Lotus Day Spa three times in the past 3 months and yet to be disappointed. The staff is very friendly, the spa itself always looks clean, and the packaging holding the sterilized tools are opened in front of you. I've had the lava stone pedicure twice as well as the refreshing pedicure and lava stone manicure. They were all so relaxing with the massage oil, stones and lotions used. The fountain and music completes the relaxation. I highly recommend this spa and I will continue to go every month until I move out of the area. read more

I opted for the regular pedicure while my husband got one with a hot stone massage. Mine was great. My guy was quick and efficient and he did a great with the foot rub. My husband's experience was a bit different from mine. The girl who did his pedicure lacked a little knowledge and experience. She probably wasn't prepared to do a man's foot let alone one that walks around all day. His massage wasn't very good either. Again, I believe this is from inexperience. She just didn't know how to handle the hot stones and her massage technique requires a little more time in the chair. They just opened up so I'm sure they're working out the kinks. Me and my husband were here about a week ago for a couples massage that was UNBELIEVABLE!! Like seriously the whole consolation was very professional and just the service was a dream I was wishing could never end. Then today I went to get a full set of acrylics with gel along with a gel pedi. I had my app. set for 11am and I had to change it to 4pm. The receptionist was very understanding and was able to fit me to the schedule. She called me at 4:05 and was like "hello just wondering if you could make it" I said yes I am stuck behind a school bus I am at a light right before your salon. "Ok I will move you to 4:15" perfectly ok with me. When I walked in I asked if before we started my pedi if we could start soaking of my previous set to just kinda get things moving. My manicurist ((I honestly never got his name)) was just being kinda rude about how I like my nails being done. So whatever he sets the acetone on my nails and I go to start my pedi. My man Henry WAS LEGIT HURTING ME and I vocalized it multiple times. He did not really acknowledge it and kept digging at my cuticles and the sides of my nails. I got a 45 second massage for my feet. I understand its extra to get a full massage but like huh?? At least give these puppies a minute maybe? Polish was great can't complain about that. So now we move back to the manicurist. I informed him that I dont have the strongest nails and once we get to my natural nails he can NOT use a drill. In the past I've had little to no issues with this but this man looked at me like I was stupid and basically told me no. I told him MULTIPLE times to stop and he would apologize then keep going. I asked for coffin nails and he was like okie doke brother that will be an extra $10 whatever. I wouldn't be complaining if they were EVEN coffin nails. Some are on a slight angle when the other side is on a heavy angle. Worst shape I've seen, I understand its hard to perfect so I am not crazy about it but girl. He messed up. Then he starts to put on my polish and he is rushing, not curing the gel enough and making them look chunkier and uneven. Homeboy put 4 COATS OF COLOR on them except my glitter/sheer accent nail. He put ONE. So I'm upset I'm tired bad week instead of saying something I just wanted this whole experience to be over. I paid and also tipped because it's just rude not to. Got in the car. This is my second time here and the absolute disappointments just keep coming.... The first time I here I made an appt for lash extension refill, a gel fill and pedicure....I was greeted and picked my color and offered a drink. (Good job) Well I get here and get started and the lady who was supposed to do my lashes had something wrong with her eyes (literally) so she had to cancel that part is my appt, mind you.....she is doing my nails while she's telling me there's something wrong with her eyes. She had to stop several times due to her eyes and it took well over an hour and half for a simple fill. I was so frustrated at this point, I opted out of getting my pedicure. I walked in with two ladies who stated that they were signing up for 4 people to be serviced, however only 2 were there. When he asked what I needed, I kindly stated a pedi, mani shellac, and brows. He said "she's signing up for 4 people so we won't be able to." Considering none of the above mentioned had an appointment, only 2/4 people were waiting, and I was going to be spending $100+ at their establishment I find this to be extremely rude and poor business. I genuinely wish I could give no stars. I have never been so uncomfortable in a nail salon ever. I went yesterday and I had a male who I didn't get his name. He kept asking me if I was single while he was doing my nails and kept trying to flirt with me. After I kept saying I had a boyfriend and looking around to see if anyone else caught what he was saying I was shocked. He kept flirting with me even though I was visibly uncomfortable. I wanted to leave so badly I ended up choosing a random color that I absolutely hated just so I can get out of the salon. Even when I stood up to go wash my hands he followed me back to the sink and still kept trying to talk to me as I ignored him. To be honest my first experience here was just ok. My husband and I had appointments for massages and couples mani/pedis. Unfortunately my husband didn't care for his massage. We had to wait a long time for pedicures just to find out they ran out of hot water!! My husband was disgusted with the service and we left (with a gift card for pedicures later). Today I came in to use my gift card. I received an AMAZING hot lava stone pedicure from Eric. He was excellent. The customer service I received today was top notch. I am so pleased. I visited this location after finding out the one on Pleasure House Road was closed to use my gift card. This place is great! The atmosphere is really relaxing and really clean looking. For a standard pedicure you can choose from a wide array of Zoya nail polishes that, from what I saw, were all in good condition. The foot and leg massage was great and relaxing and the man who took care of me really took his time and was attentive. I would have given the business 5 stars if my second time would have been the way my first time in was. As well as if they had more staff. (They had a hiring sign in the window). I came in on a Friday, at 6:30, the business hours are open until 8:00pm. I said I needed a pedicure and gel manicure. They said okay and sat me in the chair for my pedicure. Then they asked if I minded if I got my gel manicure at the same time and I agreed that it was fine. Then they proceed to move me back to the manicure table and then back to pedicure chair in confusion and miscommunication amongst staff. Once I got started the girl who was doing my pedicure (Karen) was efficient and relaxing. However, the girl they had do my nails was working at the front desk when I came in and did not seem to be a seasoned manicurist. My gel manicure was painful, lacking in enough coats of the color I picked and the gel started to raise up the minute she was finished. I called once I got home to leave a message and then I called again in the morning to see when I could come in to have them fixed and they got me in at 2:30. I was greeted sort of half assed but was moderately happy with the job that "T" did on fixing the mess that was my gel manicure. I will probably come back because this is the only nail place up to the standards I am used to and that offers more than a basic pedicure. If there were better options I probably would not come back until they got more competent staff with better demeanor. Only upside is that I saw how well they clean up at night and they literally cleaned everything even the nail polish bottles. read more

I went in today for a fill-in and they were pretty busy. Despite how busy they were, I was still sat at a station and was offered hot tea or bottled water right away. I only waited a few minites before the nail tech, Vanessa started on me. She was very friendly and helpful since I couldn't decide what I wanted on my nails. She did my fill-in and then did my nails with 4 colors fading from light to dark at the tip (there's a name for it but I forgot what its called). I've been getting my nails done for 14 years and they've never looked so good! The spa itself is gorgeous! The color scheme and decor are very relaxing. The music was as well, but I heard the same songs multiple times while I was there, so they could probably use a little more variety. Overal this was a great experience. I made an appointment for waxing which should have been yesterday 4pm. They called me at 11:30 and asked me if I can come at 12 or 12:30 for my waxing appointment, I said yes. But I reached there at 12:48 (there was a construction going on on Little creek Rd and lot of emergency vehicles passed by on that road at the same time, which I didn't account for while starting from home). After I reached there, I gave my name and my appointment details and before I could say "Sorry I'm late", she said that I have to cancel the appointment because I was 20 mins late. She said that they have 10 min wait policy and since it has been 20 mins, I have to cancel it. I was like, ok can I come back at 4pm then? She said that the estheticians who was supposed to do waxing is booked for the day. I have couple of things to say about my experience. 1. I scheduled an appointment based on times that were given to me, which is 4pm yesterday. She called me at 11:30 asked if I can come at 12 or 12:30. (Which is just 30 or 1hr before appointment). She was vague about the time. Twice on the call she said 12 or 12:30. 2. I agree that it is my fault to not be there on time, I am not saying that the estheticians should sit there waiting for me. I do understand she taking an other customer because I was late, but I thought she should have called me to let me know that they are cancelling my appointment. It took me 40 mins to return home which should have been 20 min. (that's how much traffic it was) 3. She did not mention about 10 min wait policy to me on the call to reschedule my appointment. When I said that nobody told me about this policy on phone or while scheduling the appointment, she just kept repeating that we have this policy. Especially because she was vague about the time, she should have mentioned about this policy to me on the call. I would have not rescheduled in the first place. 4. I found it really funny when she said that I need to cancel my appointment. She said that the estheticians is booked for the day, which means that they already cancelled my appointment. It was just a polite way of saying you have an option when there is none. NEVER GOING TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!! read more
