The place has really gone downhill in the last couple of years. My partner and I enjoyed it the first couple of times as it has a great vibe in the upstairs seating area. It's a little more quiet than the downstairs as there is no bar, and is also a little more spread out. Most of the seats you can see out into the downtown area as well, and it has a nice and charming vibe to it. So... onto the review: the service when we first started coming Lotus Lounge was very good. The servers were kind and attentive, and supported a good vibe and feel. The last 2-3 times coming here, the service seemed minimal at best. We were seated , and our order was taken. We were not followed up on once about how the food was , or if we needed anything. And the issue one two of the times , was that we did not receive everything we had ordered. The sushi is pretty good , and other orders prove to be good as well (Really enjoy the pork belly fried rice , and very good Korean bbq style wings). If the servers were nicer and more attentive , I'd give it 4 stars. But when you're in a nicer establishment , I think it's important that your patrons are checked up on more frequently , and actually cared for. She was unwilling to have any type of discussion with us- besides asking us multiple times "what do you expect me to do?"... well, I guess it was rhetorical. She then asked me to follow her outside because "I was causing a scene" when I asked to speak to her higher up. She told me I was not welcome inside and left before I was able to speak another word. The only regret I have about Lotus Lounge is that I didn't find out about it sooner. Our hotel was literally a 5-second walk away and is actually the reason we found out about it as they had a chalk board with Lotus Lounge's menu on it. We had a horrible experience at Sosoba about a block away the night before and Lotus Lounge was a great upgrade. Not only is it beautiful inside but the bartender that took care of us was very nice and fast and knew how to make a great cocktail. My BF and I had the fried mushroom appetizer, a sushi roll and beef fried rice. They were quite busy when we stopped by due to the holidays and seemed to have been hosting several large parties but that didn't affect the timing of our food. It was out very quickly. I gotta say, everything we ordered was fantastic, so good that I would have a hard time picking a favorite of the three things we ordered off the menu. Their sushi is fresh and flavorful, the offer unique appetizers and their fried rice is on point. Wish I would have found out sooner so I could have gone for a second meal before our trip ended. The Lotus Lounge is a super fun place to visit. The ambiance and very memorable and a good spot for a celebration dinner. There were a few vegan options, which I was grateful for but not many. I think 3 things total on their huge menu. But the Sho Jin Roll did NOT disappoint & the sesame sauce that came with it was so delightful. I also tried the Brussel Sprout appetizer and it was also super tasty but really oily. The servers were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating to our wild group. Great service combined with excellent food. I had the gyoza and Brussels sprouts with orange chicken. Brussels sprouts were amazing and my favorite of the entire meal. Gyoza are the best I have had since living in Japan and the orange chicken was lightly fried eliminating that heavy fried feeling after a meal. Drinks were mixed well, not too strong and not too weak. I am really perplexed as to this review. We had four people at the table. Three of us were fine. The service for the fourth person boarded on criminal. my wife has serious food allergies. she looked online and found several items that she could eat. when we got to the place we found that the menu displayed online was very inaccurate. Had we actually seen the real menu, we would passed on the lotus lounge. Because the place uses cheap substitutes for real Asian dishes (far too many items had potato flour in them) it boiled down to only one item that she liked and which she could eat. So we gave the server her card which is very specific in what she cannot eat. This includes anything in the nightshade family. This card was given to the cook (notice I said cook and not chef). when her soup bowl arrived there were two slices of jalapeños right on top. Neither cook, nor the server knew that jalapeño is a chile, which of course in the night shade family. I find it to be criminal to not train staff properly and furthermore simply negligent that a cook does not know food groups. The server did not charge us for her meal and was very embarrassed. The cook nor the manager never showed up to make apology. My food was good, was the food of the other two people present. read more

Our server Corbin was high out of his mind and couldn't even think. Asking him the simplest things such as can we have more plates and we have napkins and we did not receive any of that. You know.. the food was not bad. I actually expected it to be worse. I understand this is pan asian, so i expected less flavor naturally. But to be quite honest, the food was decent. The coconut shrimp was good, the fried rice was good, and the ramen was decent. The beef and noodles were very tender and had great texture. The bamboo shoots were gross though, never had such a vinegar flavor in bamboo shoots before. But really, if the ramen bowl was bigger (never seen such a small bowl of ramen before) and the price was $14. I would've given them 4 stars. The AC wasn't working and it was a hot day for Flagstaff so it was a bit warm but the excellent service from Sebastian compensated for it. I don't eat sushi and cannot eat wheat, so this is from someone who was part of a group & tried to find something I could eat. The others loved the egg rolls & crab rangoon but I couldn't have them. I got the Lotus Fried Rice and though it had a good flavor, the chicken was dark meat, not white meat and the shrimp was tough. The glass of wine -- house wine on happy hour price -- was fine but otherwise prices are quite high. It was warm in Flagstaff and air conditioning on the upper floor didn't cool the area very well. It was also loud for people who are in an older age group. I would recommend this place for young people who don't mind loud places and also for people who eat sushi. The brightest spot of the evening was our terrific waiter! I didn't get his name due to the level of noise but he was fantastic! A real gem! read more

The name, of course, is confusing, but I was assured they were vegan. And since I'm ImperfectlyVegan, am not sweating it. They were delicious! Full of cabbage and other veggies.
