Lovely experience at Lotus! Got a gel mani and pedi by Linda. She was fantastic- very knowledgable, efficient and friendly and she knows her gel manicures! The store is clean and welcoming and everyone was very friendly. I definitely recommend it and will certainly be back! Updated: Just went back to Lotus again and, while the first woman who was helping me was very meticulous and careful, she was taking a bit longer than I would have liked to be there on a Friday afternoon, so Linda stepped in and took over. She is such a gem! She has a great attitude and spirit, has been doing nails for a long time so she is an expert and she made sure to finish the job to my liking. The 3 stars are for the attentiveness of the tech, Jennifer, who did my nails yesterday. But this salon will not be receiving 5 stars because of the reasons I am about to list. My mother and I came to this salon earlier this month to test it out so we'd know where to go to get our vacation nails done. It was a pleasant experience so we decided to schedule our vacation appointment for yesterday, July 30th for 11 or 11:30, I don't remember. I specifically asked for Vicky (but i don't know if the man at the front actually wrote that down) because of the reviews I saw and the official reason I even came to this salon was for Vicky but I did not get her for my initial visit (walk-in). The reason I requested Vicky was because of the style of nails I wanted and the amount of depth and skill was something I knew only Vicky could do at the shop. But of course, when I walked in yesterday morning I was disregarded by Vicky who decided to cater to only white female clients the entire time I was there. I don't regret Jennifer doing my nails; she was enthusiastic the entire time and tried her best to give me something close to what I wanted. My issue with this shop is that this owner knew what my preference was but proceeded with other clients. I find that disrespectful and for that reason I will not be returning. I have gone to Lotus Nails several times and feel like I've finally found "my" nail salon after trying several places in the area and not being satisfied with others (needing nail repairs constantly, full set not lasting). This is a family owned business and the family and all of the technicians are so nice and welcoming. Vicky does my nails and she is amazing. She is thorough, meticulous and very talented in nail design (she is always up for a design challenge). My nails are always beautiful and last extremely well. The staff never makes you feel like they're trying to get you in and out quickly. I appreciate their professionalism. They also have a loyalty card that you get stamped each time you come in and then get a nice discount after your fifth visit. I can't recommend Lotus Nails enough! read more

My sister and I went here for the first time last night and we loved it. We made an appointment about an hour and a half in advance and when we arrived there was no wait. That sounds obvious but you guys know like I do that a lot of nail salons double and triple book their appointments so you still end up waiting. Everybody was friendly, the vibes in this place were super chill. It was also clean and spacious. Eunice did a fab job on my pedicure, she really took her time and she was able to get my toenails very short like I like them. Linda also did a fab job with my nails, she was able to get my overlay very thin and natural looking and then Jason gave my nails a trendy chrome finish. I RARELY write reviews. It's got a lot of pedicure chairs (maybe 8?) and is very spacious inside, although there aren't a lot of technicians. 2 of us came on a Friday night and had to go separately because there were only 3 technicians on hand. Regular prices are average ($27 for a pedicure) but the Groupon makes this a great deal. This place is a joke. I went there for a mani and pedi and I got there extra early so I would be able to pick my colors without feeling rushed but as soon as I walked in I was greeted with rudeness. I really wanted to love this place. After leaving another nail salon in the area after patronizing them for 12 years, I just really wanted a place with great customer service and respect for patrons time. I will drive an hour for great service. I've been to Lotus nails about 6 times.it's about 40 minutes from my home. So, I am making a choice to patronize this establishment. I drive past probably more than 50 other salons past Frederick, Damascus, Clarksburg, and Germantown. So, going to Lotus nails is a very conscious effort. I'm flexible and understand that things happen so I do my best to give multiple opportunities. But, I refuse to deal with businesses that have consistent issues with appointment booking. My last three appointments (all scheduled with Jenny) have been riddled with issues. 1. They had a large wedding party that had been scheduled. They miscalculated the time and amount of employees needed. I wanted for 35 minutes even though, I had an appointment. No problem. 2. I scheduled an appointment for a manicure and pedicure with Jenny. I get to appointment on time and someone else is sitting in the chair whose nails she had just started. I check in and there is a bunch of talk back and forth between the employees. Finally, they say someone else can start my pedicure and that Jenny would be able to do my nails later. The explanation was that they thought some else was me. No problem. 3. Today, I am scheduled and travel through bad traffic because there is an accident. I phone 40 minutes before the start of my appointment to say that I would be about 20 minutes late. Inlet them know that I understand if I need to be rescheduled. Just let me know before I continue with my drive. They reassured me that it was ok. I get to the salon at 6:08 and Jenny has someone in her chair. How? They offer someone else to provide the service or a reschedule. I kindly declined both. I WOULDN'T DARE RETURN for this terrible service. read more

I have gone here for about 2 years now & every time I leave happy. But for some reason; today was the complete opposite. I normally get a gel mani & pedi. & I know they get busy but they have to take their damn time with their clients. one of the nail lady's was filing my nail wayyyyy too fast & she didn't even have someone waiting on her. she cut me so deep & fast that I flinched & it started to bleed & I even cried from the pain for about 10 minutes, because it caught me wayyy off guard. she was filing a "fixed nail with an acrylic". I bled & I was upset & they ended up changing my nail lady because she (the one who cut me) couldn't do the design I asked for & that's fine. but in the end when it was time to pay, they started talking to each other in their native language & they ended up only not charging me for the "fixed nail". that's only $3 dollars. I can pay that. a "sorry" isn't going to make my finger become uncut & the fact that my sister & mom & I all go there & all they did was take off $3. you'd figure as a loyal customer they would take care of you. I work in the restaurant business & when your paying guest is upset, you do what you can to accommodate them to not lose a guest. i was kind of shocked they still charged me full price. I can pay it, no problem. but you'd think they'd care about how their loyal customers feel. my sister as well has had a horrible experience here & all they say is im sorry & just beg you to take bad reviews down. it's disappointing bc they're very nice but just care on getting you out the chair. I will not be coming back , nor my sister & I will find a better salon for me & my mom. read more
