Ordered the Chicken Satay, Pad See Ew and Thai Fried Rice all chicken and to go. Dishes very tasty and yet low is salt which is extra appreciated by my wife. Service friendly. Atmosphere is that of a to-go place. No seating but pretty quick prep. This is our second visit and we would certainly return again. One minor issue was that one of the 5 Satay sticks had very tough chicken. read more

It changed hands a while back and the food was more expensive and they charged for a side of rice to go with curry ... who pays for rice when you get curry? anyway I ordered yellow curry with chicken, mild. it was horrible. The carrots and potatoes were that fancy wavy cut and honestly tasted like canned. it was mild all right, no flavor. The curry was so watery, more like soup. won't be going back to give them another chance. I'll stick with nois in baywood for thai. read more

A let down for sure. The pad see ew had very little egg and broccoli. We only got about 4 very small pieces of broccoli in the whole dish. Given that's the only vegetable in the dish, it would have been nice to have more of it. There was also hardly any egg. It was really just noodles with a rumor of broccoli and egg involved. The fried rice was overly peppery but edible. The biggest let down was the yellow curry. It was watery and awful. There were about 4 pieces of potato in total, so it was mostly just carrot, onion, and curry water. We used to come here all the time but it's REALLY gone downhill. Super disappointing. read more

Small take out only restaurant. The food is certainly edible - it is not great Thai Food by any means. The ingredients seem fresh, but the curries are extremely watery. Literally - they are the same consistency as water. Like most Asian-style restaurants in the US, the food is over sweetened. The rice was cooked well and the Thai iced tea was very good. read more

Very sweet owners. My husband and I were visiting from out of town and didn't realize everything was closing by 8pm for the most part. We came at 8:03pm and asked if we could still order. They told us it depended what we ordered and gave us a menu. We ordered pad thai and a red curry. Red curry was flavorful, sweet and savory. I found good Thai food by Yelp again! I called them on the phone to order my to-go order. They pick up the phone on my 2nd call. Told me the order will be ready in 20 minutes. The drive from my campsite to the restaurant is about 10 minutes. So I am there a little early, but I decided to walk-in and my food is just ready! Nice! The lady behind the counter is very fast and has my order packed right away when I am paying for the order. I am in and out in a minute! This is a take out place which was fine for us since I called in an order for take out. It was very quick 15 minutes and the order was ready. I ordered Pad Se Ew, Hawaiian Fried Rice and Chicken Tom Kah. The fried rice came with 2 large shrimps and lots of pineapple and cashews. Pad se ew is as expected from a Thai restaurant. The chicken tom kah was sour as expected but much sweeter than what I'm use to with Tom kah. It was still good but I was just expecting it to be more sour. I WOULD order THIS again! Fried spring rolls; 5 skinny rolls, flavor ok, but I have had better & larger for the price. Pad Thai; Bland. The flavor does not taste authentic. No hint of fish sauce. Lacking enough green onions, (several whitish stocks) Two small pieces of cilantro. BAH-LAAAND! Sticky rice; LONG GRAIN? Congealed hunks with hard-edged pieces. Obviously NOT fresh. Tom Kha Soup; I have NEVER had a 'SWEET' (I DO mean SWEET) Tom Kha soup ? . . . Again, did not taste authentic. Thai Bounty in Morro Bay has excellent tasting Tom Kha soup. Thai Tea; DO. NOT. GET. We have found another love for Thailand:)) She's Lotus known as Lotus Thai Cuisine. Out of 7 Thai restaurants, on the Central Coast, we patronize Lotus is number 1 to us. It's a momma and daughter duo taking orders, cooking and serving. Service is very welcoming, good. Food is yummy and cooked to perfection. Curries have perfect yummy consistency. You are served promptly and continuously checked on. Phad Thai, red or green curry, Garlic Chicken, and house special fried rice is always our go too. I must expose my tastebuds, because other dishes I see served look divine :)) let's not forget Thai iced tea or coffee to accompany the yumminess :)) My one son says the food is amazing, the other says it's dope (really good) :)) Hubby says just like flavors in L.A. I really love going to this place but my visit today was terrible. My fiancée and I got the Tom yum soup, gyozas, crab noodles and the chicken skewers. Called our order in around 6pm tonight and was told it would be ready in a hour, we got there at about 7:10pm and our order still wasn't ready. While we were waiting there was two walk in orders who had already been waiting for about 35 minutes, they eventually got their orders after 3 other call in orders picked up their food. It's about 7:30 at this time and our food still wasn't ready. We got home just now and the crab noodles were super spicy (spicy enough to not eat and I love spicy food) with maybe one or two pieces of crab maybe some bean sprouts and some egg. Now the gyozas, they were cold to the touch. The rest of the food was hot but gyozas were cold as well as the dipping sauce. The soup was disgusting and just tasted sour not hot and sour as it's described on the menu. Really disappointed with my food and with the service after spending almost 60$, could've went and dined in at another establishment besides throwing my money in the trash. read more

Ordered the spicy noodle with chicken at the level of spicy and Thai tea. The spicy noodle is basically pad kee mao, comes with onions and veggies (broccoli, peas, carrots. Etc). It was actually spicy! Perfect spice. However the noodles were bits and pieces. Thai tea came out in a styrofoam cup, which was handy because I couldn't finish it. The restaurant itself is small. Three small tables (two chair per table). Walked in to an older white man taking my order. It's a bit refreshing and he was nice. After I got my order an Asian lady came to make sure everything was ok (if the spice level was ok). If I lived in the area, I would probably be back to explore other items on the menu. read more

Lotus Thai has got to be one of, if not THE, best Thai food I've ever had. This is a small family place that tastes like the recipes have been used in the family for generations. Sometimes you get asked for the spicy level of dishes and I was surprised that this was not the case. One of our favorite Thai places! My favorite is the masaman curry with tofu & brown rice, and my husband's favorite is the pad Thai with shrimp. Lotus has the fastest service and best prices of any Thai place we've frequented. The flavors are always spot on, and the portions are huge. I don't know how they do it but I'm glad they do! We have to chuckle when we see reviews for the customer service, because we've always had amazing customer service at Lotus! The owner is awesome, he answers phones, takes orders, and cashes out orders all at the same time. He's great! And if you decide to eat at Lotus, granted there aren't many tables, but we usually strike up a conversation with him. He has a wonderful personality and is able to multitask and throw in some dry humor here and there. He's a gem! We like the fact that Lotus is family owned and operated, too. One of these days we will have to stop by for their lunch specials - around $5.99, can't beat that! Please don't bring your big city expectations to small town Los Osos and family-run Lotus Thai.
