As soon as me my family entered we ordered the food on the screen and with 5 min our food was being served, It was really quick. Had some really delicious food here this weekend. Everything was seasoned well and had the perfect amount of heat. They were quick and efficient and had the order ready promptly. I'm genuinely bummed writing this because I just moved in across the street and Thai is my absolute favorite. I ordered the red curry with chicken, but the dish was overwhelmingly bamboo shoots with very little chicken. I actually love bamboo shoots, but in this case they made up most of the meal. I also ordered the curry medium, and it was surprisingly mild -- it had almost no spice at all. You can tell the dish has the potential to taste great, so I'm hoping this was just an off night. The potstickers were good, although I had ordered them steamed and they came fried, so we didn't finish them. The server was very kind, just a bit distracted, which I understand since this was a walk-up takeout order. The space itself is small but very quaint, and I could absolutely see myself enjoying a sit-down meal there under different circumstances. I'm hopeful for a different experience next time. read more

They didn't have sticky rice, the fried springs rolls seemed to be frozen store bought, and the sweet chili sauce was sub-par. Thai Boat used to be one of my college staples when I attended CPSLO. I arguably thought it was the best Thai place I've ever had, and that's a high regard coming from LA. However, I recently revisited and didn't think the same. We ordered the pad see ew with beef, tom yum soup, and red curry. I remembered the pad see ew was perfectly charred and the noodles soft, chewy, and bouncy. This most recent visit was nothing but that. The pad see ew noodles were too saucy and sweet. The tom yum soup wasn't flavorful enough and lacked the tartness and spice. It also consisted of 90% vegetable, not enough soup. The only one we kind of enjoyed was the red curry saved by the coconut milk. The quality of food makes me question if there's been a change in ownership. Still, the customer service was as friendly as I remembered so it gets a 2 1/2 star rating from me. read more

I'd give the food a 5/10 by itself however what really got me was that I was given a half plate of pad Thai and the other half covered in bean sprouts. I suppose this would be acceptable if bean sprouts had the same value per ounce as gold however last I checked this is not the case. I will be skipping the gym today due to the intense workout my jaw received while powering through the completely overcooked pork I was given with my food. I left hungry disappointed and sad. I have been to multiple Thai restaurants but this place in St Louis obispo is one of the best. The staff, the quality of food, quantity, taste, service and staff care was wonderful. The ambience is very decent and clean. The also provided me with an extra starter. I had ordered spicy thai basil rice with veggie and tofu & panang curry ! My most recent experience, I ordered pad Thai w tofu. the base price was 14.99 plus 2.50 for tofu, it was bland, small portion, no ground peanuts. it just seemed not fresh, like it been made earlier and reheated. I also ordered pineapple curry w chicken. the pineapple was canned ring pineapple cut up, the baby corn was also canned. The curry tasted okay, but pretty bland. I ordered medium spicy, it was mild. for the price, also close to $18, I was very disappointed. there are too many other better options for Thai food now in SLO, to be paying too much money for poor quality. read more

Honestly one of the best Thai-food places I've ever had and this is coming from Vegas. The portions are a bit smaller for my liking but we were full after and able to finish everything with no leftovers, which is a good change of pace. The pad Thai had the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. The only thing that was missing was some like and peanuts, but regardless the flavor was there. Green curry had chicken, basil, carrot and bamboo shoots. It wasn't marked as spicy on the website, but it did have a slight kick to it. I also like that they didn't charge extra for rice. We ordered the Pad See Ew and Pad Thai and both dishes were very flavorful and cooked to perfection! I had a seafood noodle dish and it was absolutely delicious, chocked full of succulent and well-prepared seafood. The noodles and sauce were great together. Also got a Pad Thai which was equally delicious and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Rounded out the meal with a salad, also very fresh. The portions were very good. Ordering at the kiosk was very straightforward, and my food was ready in no time, even though four people had ordered ahead of me. The cashier/server was efficient, and the portion was big and heavy (YESSSS!) I ordered the spicy fried rice with tofu, veggies, fried egg, and pineapple, and it was delicious. I chose a 5 out of 10 for spiciness, and I'm glad I didn't follow my impulse of going for the 10. A 5 was perfect, and I will be back when I'm in SLO again.
