So I only got three items. And it came out to 70$. I have eaten Thai food in over 12 different states and was never charged this amount. The fact the owner is replying to yelp reviews being unprofessional speaks volumes in itself. It was overpriced, bland, and small portions. Learn from your customer's criticism. I was really excited to try a new restaurant, always looking for a good Thai spot. I was following their Facebook for about a week or two before they opened, and the food pictured looked really good and similar to what I grew up eating in Thailand. The service was fine, everyone was nice and polite. The inside of the building looks good too, it had a nice amount of seats. However, the food was not impressive. I tried going two times and unfortunately I could not justify the price I was paying for the quality and amount of food I received. For two Thai iced coffees and one order of pad see ew, it was $42. We wanted to give it a second chance and ordered the gai yang and Lao style papaya salad since we figured they were still new, but it is not worth going back for. Just the chicken and papaya salad was $38 and it did not include rice. 1. The Thai iced coffee was not creamy, it was like it had just a splash of milk. 2. The pad see ew was just okay. You can see that the noodles did not keep their shape well at all and it was very greasy. I appreciate that they finished the dish off with white pepper, but the execution was bad. It did not have any of the smokiness that you expect from the dish. The heat was not high enough for the noodles resulting in a greasy dish and broken up noodles. 3. The Lao style papaya salad was just okay as well. I got spice level 2 because I wasn't sure what their definition of spicy was, but it didn't really have much of a kick. It tasted more sweet and lacked the salty and sour profile. I unfortunately forgot to get a picture of it. 4. The gai yang was a complete disappointment. I have been going back and forth between the states and Isan region of Thailand since I was a baby, and this absolutely does not represent the dish at all. Gai yang is supposed to be very tender and savory. The chicken was dry, burnt, and it looks like it wasn't even marinaded in the correct spices. The chicken looked like it was in the same yellow marinade that would be used for satays, and even then the burnt meat takes away from whatever flavor profile it could have. I wish I took a picture of it but I assure you that it is not worth your money. I do not see myself returning to this restaurant. I do love supporting local, especially if it involves my own culture. I wanted to try something new so I went to Lotus Thai on Churn Creek. The restaurant was nice and clean and Joey was serving us tonight. I don't know much about Thai food but I did order a beef dish with broccoli and rice. I can't remember the name because I had two Chang beers which were very good. I just looked it up and the dish I ordered was called Pra Ram Gai...the beef version. The food was excellent and I highly recommend this restaurant. Joey, the waiter, gave us good service and made good recommendations. I'm fairly sure we'll be coming back. read more

Outrageously expensive, more than Bay Area prices. For the cost, I cannot recommend this place. My husband didn't care for his dish at all. I had the Tod Salmon and it was okay. We were asked if we wanted rice with our dishes, and we each said yes not realizing that the small cup of rice was $10 extra, each. Without the rice, my plate would have been very small amount of food. I believe my dish was nearly $30 (then rice was $10 more). For the two of us, our bill was about $85. The food is aight The price point versus portion is outta control. I've been to Rose Garden and Racha noodle. Both way tastier both $20-$30 less both twice as much food. The ice tea was small and cost seven dollars. Way too much for the small amount of tea versus the entire glass of ice. During lunch, you need a lunch menu and you need to make sure the server offers the lunch menu. It is not something that a customer should have to ask for unless it is not lunchtime anymore. Yum. We have tried Thai in LA area and love the places we go to. I haven't tried Thai since we got to Redding, but this place just opened near my nail salon. The Thai iced tea is great. So my husband met me there for lunch. He had the chicken salad - great and fresh. I had the tofu curry to compare it with the LA places. It was great and the taste is right on. This is my second time ordering from this place. The first time was amazing and the fried rice was great. It was cooked like Kobe's fried rice. This time around I ordered the same exact thing like last time and paid extra $16 for shrimp for double. I'm disappointed because everything tastes like too much sodium in the food overall. Food and service were both good. The problem was the menu price was not what was charged. On check out they charged a higher price than the menu listed, explaining it was the credit card price. Very disappointed! Expensive for little food. Food is bland. Owner expects u to season it yourself. Ordered some shrimp rolls... came with 3 at the price of $12-$14. Khao soi picture in yelp is her own special which i ordered and it came out looking nothing like the picture. She gave 2 pinky finger size of beef meat along with 1 meatball cut into 4 pieces and called it her special. Cost me $24 dollars for that special dish. The soup tasted as bland as water. The stuffed chicken wings needed the sauce in order for it to taste like something. Stuffed chicken wings have no seasoning. They relied on the sauce to make it taste better. When i told the owner the khao soy looked nothing like the picture and had only 2 pieces of meat and a few pieces of meatballs she said it was her special and that she was missing the fish ball and came back and gave me a few pieces of fishballs. Disappointed. Ordered a lunch curry that the menu stated had zucchini, carrots and onions, a meat choice and was served with rice. Small portion, mostly broth, no zucchini or onions and just a half cup of rice. I reminded her of the issue of missing vegetables and instead of giving me a credit or something when it was time to pay, I was told I was being charged the dinner price because my serving was larger? I reminded her that there were no vegetables and it was mostly just broth. We noticed that some complain about pricing but we think the quality and taste was worth it. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Best Pad Thai in Redding. The flavor was there but the prices are really high for a small portion and that's what I was struggling with and the meat was so dry and hard to chew. One of the items I ordered was wrong but it was too late to go back since I drove 15 mins back home. I was also extremely shocked that the angel wings were 18 dollars and we only received 5 wings. Noodles were sweet and sticky and meat was unrecognizable and boiled to a leathery consistency. A few of my friends really like this place, but they might not like some of my favorite places.
