Best Pad Thai I have ever had in my life. The service was brilliant. We stumbled upon this place my complete accident. Best accident of my life. The sweet potato maki is to die for, but if you're going to order only one thing, get the Pad Thai. I nearly cried at how delicious it was. This is really a 3.5 Star review: This was a cute place for a bit of a bite to eat! The wonton soup was excellent as was the Beef Teriyaki appetizer. The edamame were fresh and cooked to perfection. What a great little place. Great for takeout but also about 6 small tables and some counter seats to eat in too. I would say this is some of the best American-Chinese food around. Actually they have a combination of Chinese, Thai style and Japanese food but I've only tried the Chinese. Instead of the dreaded "brown sauce" on everything, each dish has it's own proper personality. Sesame orange chicken is excellent, as is pineapple shrimp. The shanghai spicy wontons are delicious. As are the Shanghai crispy noodles. Everyone there is so friendly, it's like hanging out with friends who happen to be cooking the meal! Don't miss it. Tried it while in the area based on Yelp reviews. Got the springs rolls and pan fried dumplings as appetizers. The spring rolls were okay not great. The pan fried dumplings were really good. for entrees we got the Vegetarian Delight, the Basil Chicken with eggplant in Garlic sauce, and Chicken in black bean sauce. The vegetables in the Delight were excellent, the sauce was one of those sort of Chinese American white sauces that I am not really a fan of but was still decent. The Basil chicken dish was quite tasty, really good sauce and the eggplant was really, really good. The chicken in black bean was a simple but excellent dish. The serving dishes might have seemed cool in concept but perhaps had a flaw in actual use because they seemed to have a tendency to easily overflow due to design that has weakness on either end. Simple order at the counter and they bring to your table in the small dining room. Seems to be primarily a take out place but the dining room was clean and the service to the table good. They checked in on us. Bathroom was nice and clean. read more

I've driven by Lotus Express many times, and always thought, it looks nice I should give it a try. Famous last words... There's something about the chopsticks in their logo that I liked. I walked in to find a very clean very modern counter service restaurant. The seating was somewhat limited but there was plenty of seating available, I was surprised it wasn't all that busy. I ordered the orange sesame chicken with vegetable fried rice and dumplings. The food was great, the presentation was great, and it even came on a real plate. No plastic or Styrofoam here. This is literally the first bad review I've ever felt compelled to write. I ordered the spicy miso beef ramen soup and it was disgusting. It wasn't even spicy, the noodles were too soggy even before adding them into the soup, and the beef tasted like it had been days old. I EVEN FOUND A BUG IN MY SOUP AND POSTED A PICTURE AS PROOF. So not worth the $10. Too expensive. My friend ordered Pad Thai and it didn't even have any vegetables when it clearly says there are vegetables. I should start by saying that looks can be deceptive. Lotus doesn't look like a standout restaurant from outside but their food is absolutely delicious. I've been there countless times and ordered take out or delivery as well. Their Thai Ice Tea is out of this world amongst other things. The only thing I didn't like on their entire menu is chicken wings but everything else has left me wanting more. I would say that out of 10 times, the food is below par once or twice which is forgivable considering the fact that the items on the menu have a price point lower than other restaurants in the area. read more

Came here for lunch and ordered the sesame chicken lunch special with the crazy roll. The service was kind of weird- came in as the cashier was on the phone with someone telling her to call the police because someone was in the area. Ordered, sat, and waited for about 10 minutes or so. My entree came out before my sushi, which came out about 10 minutes after all. Great prices for the quality of food! We were big fans of the wonton soup, the chicken and broccoli and pad thai. Their pad thai was nice and light after a long day walking around Boston. We had it delivered to our hotel through Yelp and it was brought to our lobby within an hour. And was still hot! That is huge with Boston traffic around dinner time. read more

Hate to speak negative because this place has always been one of my favorite places... BUT... things have been different as far as food quality. What are these rocks? (Idk how to attach a photo so I'll post it separately after this one). I had bit into one and then found a larger piece after skimming my plate. Could it be from the grill not being cleaned orrrr...? Not cool. Overall, minimum flavor to food and sauces, for all 3 plates. This cost me 35 dollars. I've tried 2 items at this place and they were both great. Their pad thai is the best that I've had in Boston, delicately seasoned, with a light brothy sauce, shrimp, and vegetables. I also tried their chicken and eggplant with basil which was also quite good. Both dishes I tried were authentically seasoned, though the eggplant was just a touch on the sweet side. Lotus Xpress is very clean, and has a warm, modern, cafe feeling. While the name screams fast food, it is obvious that they take care in preparing their food: ingredients are high quality, and the food comes out piping hot. Finally, they have free parking! Definitely five stars for deliciousness and value. read more

They're fast, and they have taking delivery orders down to a science. They associate your address and preferred deliver method with your phone number, and keep it on record. Ok I am pregnant and this is the only reason I eat Chinese. That being said I usually regret it as soon as I start eating it. This time I was very happy! The chicken lo mein was tasty and not super greasy. The 4 star is only because to get 5 it would have to be super high end, which I can not find near me. Food was good and tasted fresh. My only concern is the peas they put in their fried rice are overcooked since they are dry. The House special fried rice was great, especially since they use jumbo shrimp. I will definitely order from here again. I am glad they show respect not using General Tso's name in their dishes. Great service and fast delivery! I love the sushi options and the deal to get a few different orders for cheap is delightful. Ordering online does take time but pickup is prompt.
