This is a purely takeout review from uber eats. The crispy pork was flavorful had a strong sweet-and-sour profile taste to it although it was a bit soggy but then it was takeout so I'm gonna give it out a pass. The tangy sauce really gave this a nice rounded flavor. The spicy lamb flavor was really nice . I have to warn you, though it is actually pretty spicy so it has that really strong mala taste to it. I have to say, though the portions is a bit lacking. It's not as many lamb slices as I thought they would be. You can definitely mix the spicy oil with your rice and is pretty tasty. I really like how they took a lot of care of packaging the take out so that it doesn't leak with the additional bag around the saucy items. Walked in and loved the big wide open concept with about 20 booth seats and a few tables with chairs in the middle. The host was very welcoming and went right to the kitchen to check on my order. The host and one other lady came out of the kitchen with my food and was so happy telling me how they added spoons and forks to make sure I was good to go. Not sure what kind of meat this is but it was definitely spoiled rotten, it smelt atrocious. This Beef with Broccoli was good the first time I ordered it, it looked and tasted normal. This time it was all fat and some kind of cartilage and bone and what looks to be part of a trachea or some kind of airway. I just want you to throw whatever meat or not meat that is away and don't serve it to anyone else before you kill someone or get them very ill. Forget the refund, there will be no next time. I'm going to give 2 stars ONLY because I've had this dish before and it was fine, I don't know what happened this time but this wasn't beef and it was spoiled rotten. The price point was very good and food better. The Golden Garden is known for its authentic, non Americanized food. It is probably worth noting that they also offer the standard items and that all are a grade above! The hot and sour soup was instantly devoured and had the perfect balance and texture. The delight of three was in a perfectly flavored brown sauce, was piping hot and obviously was comprised of very very fresh food items. The veggies were bursting with flavor and the texture was firm, but not undercooked. They did not skimp on the chicken beef or shrimp although I prefer larger shrimp as a rule. The rice was also perfectly flavored and cooked. The portions were so large I believe I will get 2 extra meals out of it!! I will be back. read more

The standard northern Chinese dishes were good - Dan Dan noodles (with minced pork, beef flat noodle soup, pan-fried pork and leek dumplings. The "brunch" items were meh - freshly made soy drink $3.50 (too bland); ma hua (a fried dough that is twisted, it was $2 for two 2" long items and they weren't crunchy; 1 special bao $3.95 (don't remember what it was but not worth the cost). The pork chop in brown sauce $15.95 was good but it was mainly pork ribs that are bony with not a lot of meat. We were really hoping to like this place but will need to look elsewhere for northern Chinese cuisine in the north shore. read more

Ordered delivery from them and it just wasn't good. Tasteless beef teriyaki, dumplings that tasted slightly off. The only sauce included was a single packet of soy sauce, even though we ordered egg rolls and dumplings. On a particularly weird note, we ordered both the sweet and sour pork and the sweet and sour chicken (two different people wanted sweet and sour dishes) and they were VERY different preparations - the first was more like an orange chicken treatment, where sauce coats the food to start with, while the second was a pour-over sauce with pineapple and peppers. None of us wanted to finish the dumplings or save the leftovers. We're going to give this a pass and order from somewhere else next time. read more

Everything is from scratch and the staff are gracious and accommodating (some vegetables on their menu are called different things in America so my server looked at images on my phone to confirm what some veggies were). The prices and portions, on the money! (Go for lunch and get a combo to realllllly get your $$$ worth) Their wonton soup: Delish! The broth was clear with great taste. The wontons melt in your mouth. They make all dumplings in house which is often rare in placed. General Tso chicken, great! The sauce didn't taste confectionary/fake and the chicken was perfectly crispy underneath. The crab rangoons, also made in house, had great flavor and nice and crispy. I wish there was more crab meat tho (a reason why I didn't give 5 stars). The fried rice is literally just fried rice, no onion or bean sprouts or eggs or peas or veggies. The other reason I didn't give 5 stars.
