Spoke to the manager 'Bill', he couldn't give me his last name. I told him about a major issue I had with Taste of Chicago and my order and he told me he would still recommend Taste of Chicago, even after I told him the reviews on Facebook for Taste of Chicago are terrible. No refund, just a store credit on the order they screwed up. They email spammed me a coupon, didn't honor the coupon, sent the wrong order, you get nowhere when you have a problem with your order. I'll never order from them again and have a store credit, they refuse to refund and I'm not ordering anything further from them. Bill with no last name and the people I spoke with have no accountability. The buy 1 get 1 free coupon was not honored. I had a craving for a Lou's butter crust deep dish. Ordered a half spinach and olives, and the other half pepperoni. We got olives on the whole pizza. It was on time, hot and it did come cut as he asked me if I wanted it cut or not. We haven't had Lou's for a long time and ordered the Spinach Mix deep dish with the buttercrust. The good: pizza was ready when requested. Very friendly welcome when walking in. When I opened it at home it looked like a Lou's should look. The pizza was cooked well so no complaints there. The not so good: it was somewhat flavorless. Not sure if they actually "butter-crusted" it. The pizza just needed some more seasoning and spices. This location was really good for a few years after it opened. I have visited Lou's for pickup twice now since the covid issues evolving. I'm truly impressed how efficient their system is to do curbside pickup. It's a well oiled machine. Great job! We have a celiac household, and the online ordering leaves ample space to request attention to cross contact when placing an order. Because of the staff's awareness and attention to our requests, we have had many successful dinners over the past few years with no issue. Our family is entirely grateful that they can accommodate our restrictions amongst a busy kitchen and we feel confident ordering from here. As a major bonus, even though this establishment is carry out only, the staff's kindness and professionalism makes a positive impact every time we visit. I am a fan or lou and always praise the chain when we have out of town visitors. This cary location however completely ruin Lou's reputaion. Ordered the Lou today for a house guest who never had chicago deep dish pizza before. It looks to be a bowl of tomato soup poured over the butter crust. The cheese, tomato, floating on the soupy substance and when I cut it, the cheese and tomato just drifted off from the crust. It looks disgusting and disgraceful to be called a pizza. So very disappointed to be eating the first pizza from the Carrie location. I have always ordered from Lakewood in the past. I got the deep dish pizza and it was just not balanced well or cooked well. It was supposed to be fully cooked, but the inside didn't seem cooked and there was very little cheese on it. Also, I should note that I ordered garlic on it which I can handle and mass quantities usually but they really did not do a good job of dicing the garlic. It seems to be in very large chunks. I should note that I went to the Lakewood location about three months ago and loved it. I'm not sure what is going on here in the Cary location. read more

For example, tonight, I got a can of coke with an expiration date of August 2017. Errrrrrr. That's 7 months old!!! I've complained in the past about it, it just keeps coming expired. The large deep dish was stingy with cheese, sausage, green, pepper, onion, & sauce. The crust is unique and tasty as always. Before warming a leftover slice the next day I looked at it closely. The amount of ingredients other than crust was startling. NILCH!! What A shame to charge a big price and top it so sparingly to up your profit margin. Done w/ you Lou. Great flavor and recipe, but not a value when the main ingredient is crust. Top it like the top price you charge. Your profits obviously out weigh the the value of your customers! We called in an order for pick up after a meeting. It was a Monday night and we were told our two pizzas would be ready in 35 minutes. We took our time getting there and arrived at the 37 minute mark. Our pizzas were ready for us when we arrived. I have mentioned in my past reviews, I do not really like pizza. We ate a lot of pizza when I was a kid and I just don't like it... however, I do like Lou's. I more than like Lou's. Lou's is one of my favorite meals. If I had one last meal, it would include beef wellington, sushi and Lou's. We ordered a sausage and a half Lou's/half cheese only. Both pizzas were perfect. My only complaint is that I wish our pizzas were warmer. We were there two minutes past the pick up time and it wasn't quite as warm as I would have liked. Nothing a microwave cannot fix! Side note: before the Cary location opened, we used the Lakewood location to order ahead and pick up to bring home. Every time we have ordered for pick-up, we have arrived home with a smoking hot pizza. I was hoping/expecting the same thing with the Cary location. Lou's has legendary deep-dish pizza. We ordered a large Malnati's Chicago Classic and a small Cheese (both deep dish) and their Malnati salad with sweet vinaigrette. While we generally order straight off the menu, I was impressed with the options they provide to cater to your preferences. The pizza was excellent - as usual. A single slice can be a meal for many folks - and I've rarely seen anyone go past two. I love the balance of buttercrust, sauce, cheese and sausage on the Chicago Classic. Their online ordering system is easy to use. I have an account set up - it remembers my previous orders (and allows me to repeat them), as well as address and other details.
