    Meatball appetizer

I've been trying different deep dish pizzas at different spots around Chicagoland. Lou Malnati's is up there with the best. This particular Malnati's on Cicero is very nice. The building seems new, or newer. It's nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. It has a huge bar area with tall pub tables and booths. You can order anything off the menu at the bar. I got there in time For Happy Hour. There are alot of beers and drinks for $5 and even most of their appetizers for $5, during Happy Hour. I got an order of the meatballs. They were delicious. Tender and juicy, swimming in a rich tomato sauce with giardinieria and burrata. There's also toasted bread slices that go so well with the meatballs. I could have eaten 3 orders of these meatballs. So good. Next came the deep dish pizzas. I ordered a small "Malnati's" and I added pepperoni. The pizza came piping hot out of the oven to the bar. The bartender served me up the first slice. I took my first bite, using a knife and fork. Wow! So much flavor. Perfectly cooked crust, filled with layers of tomato sauce, cheese, sausage and pepperoni. The top had a roasted look and taste that added a nice flavor.2 pieces was enough to satisfy me. This is thick pizza. I took the other half of my pizza home in a box for breakfast Malnati's is #2 so far on my list so far. I'll be back.

Came here to try the Chicago deep dish pizza and it was fantastic. We got a medium which was filling enough for four of us. The crust was a highlight and was buttery and crispy. Typical sports bar type of vibe with scattered TVs. Service was kind of slow unfortunately. It took awhile for our order to be taken as well as to get the check. Restaurant wasn't too crowded so unsure of why there was such a delay.

This small size pizza (half classic half lou) cost almost $40 because they charge per ingredient if you want to do a split pizza. BEWARE!

BEWARE!! We enjoyed the food here but beware of deceptive pricing. Our server was NOT looking out for us and really screwed us over. We got a small size half classic and half lou. However, when they charge it, it's by ingredient. So the menu said it was around $23 for a small but because we did half and half, we paid almost $40 for a small pizza. $40 for a 10 inch pizza. What a joke and literal highway robbery. It's called common sense pricing, which they have none. At that point, we should've just ordered a personal size classic and personal size lou for $15 each and it would've only been $30 and we would've gotten more food. The only reason we did half and half is because we wanted to try both versions. Usually when you order half and half pizza that is already predetermined (ie. Not build your own), they will charge you the price of the more expensive pizza, not by ingredient. That is so messed up and it left a horrible taste as our first meal in Chicago for this. I am so angry. We brought it up and all they said was sorry that's how it is. It sounded like they knew exactly what we meant so it's probably not the first time someone said something. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This was my first time trying authentic Chicago pizza! It was delicious! We got jalapeno and pepperoni and some boneless wings! The restaurant was dark but light enough to see for sure- the waitress was really nice and had great suggestions!

5/24 at 9:30 pm-Canceled flight after Cancún leg from Chicago to KC. Hotel was across the street. Sat in the bar area and bartender made us feel welcome even when we weren't feeling great about Southwest Airlines treatment of us. She took care of us and made us feel like regulars. Thank you. Now the food. Lou's classic deep-dish pizza and an Italian beef with hot peppers. The first slice was good, the 2nd was way better. 4 's. The Italian beef was amazing. Pepper heat was perfect. 5 's

Piece of the Malnati Chicago Classic

My wife and I stopped in here late, after just flying into Chicago. There weren't a lot of people in the restaurant as we got there with just a little over an hour until closing. We were seated after a few minutes and the server came out a bit after that. The two of us ended up splitting a small Malnati Chicago Classic. It was very good. I think I've only had deep dish, Chicago style at Uno's in California and this reminded me of that. We each had two pieces and that was plenty unless you're really hungry or have the appetite of a teenager. Wasn't my favorite pizza ever as I prefer thin crust, but again, was very good and very filling. The ingredients and tomato sauce seemed very fresh. Service was average, but again, we did come in late. Would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for deep dish pizza near Midway Airport.

Pretty good pizza! Never been a fan of deep dish pizza, but this was pretty good. Sat at the bar and the bartender was quick, attentive, and friendly.

Decided 2 stop here for their happy hour. Good decision. The menu looks nice, would have been nice 2 have a chicken option. The server took a bit 2 stop by but she was decent, friendly. I ordered the Italian margarita which was good; not 2 sweet. Then 4 the food I wanted a buffet of items so I ordered 4 me & guest...the mini-Italian beef which looked like dim sum - very tasty, came with peppers and dipping sauce. The mozzarella bites which were tasty. The burrata salad was superb...going 2 add sum seafood 2 it later 2day. Lou's bruschetta was great, loved the veggies - seasoned well. A thin and deep dish pizza, both were good. The pizzas came out before any of the appetizers so the manager comped us an appetizer, good service there. Server had too many tables to attend to which made experience a bit bumpy but not horrible. We took out most of what we ordered, I love leftovers. Would I be back?? No doubt.

Is this doable on a 3 hr layover at MDW? What's the best option on getting there if so? Walking or taxi? Thanks so much.

Call ahead, have pizza pre-ordered so it's ready when you get there. Get an Uber. Walking from airport takes about 40 mins totally doable just don't walk

The cracker thin crust complements the thin layer of cheese and toppings. They've been doing this for decades so they have their pizza and entrees down packed. This is definitely a neighborhood joint with an extremely popular rep with locals and tourists. I enjoyed taking in the old school vibe and looking at family photos lining the walls from decades past. One thing especially stood out regarding décor and that was the carpet lining the walls! Street parking is the only thing available. They are cash only and they have no ATM. Come prepared.

Reasonably pleasant waitress gave us estimate of 30 minutes for a large pizza. Right on the button, though it's not clear to me why it should take so long to bake a very thin crust pie when there are 20+ people in the dining room. The pizza was mediocre at best. If you like cracker-style crust, that helps. However, the sauce had little flavor to it and modest amount of cheese. Dining room tables are very close together; we could move around them ok, but when the joint is rockin' and full, it's very tight. We had to try the pizza but the sandwiches and some dinners are very reasonably priced. Extremely small bathrooms. V&N might be a legend and it's great to exist after more than 100 years, but there's no reason for me to return. Decent size parking lot on south side of restaurant.
