    Woodgrain pizza

Pizza at the airport? Woodgrain pizza sevrves Neapolitan style pizza. Woodgrain is located in the A concourse of the airport. I was thinking the service was going to take a while. However, my pizza was ready in about 5 minutes. The pizza was very flavorful, I did have to let it cool off a bit so that rhe cheese and toppings had a chance to firm up. The price was decent, but I wasn't even close to finishing this pizza by myself. I almost wish the pizza came in two sizes. I would have definitely ordered a smaller one.

The staff was super friendly! The order was up very quickly. The dough is freshly hand tossed. The toppings are premium, fresh and the pizza was loaded with them. They did not disappoint! I ordered a kids size with the herb and garlic olive oil base (no marinara) with Italian beef, red onion red peppers asiago and Parmesan cheese. It was GOOD!! The Italian beef was very tender and paired well with the cheeses. I purchased a coconut water, and ended up leaving it on the counter because I wanted to get pictures of the crew and restaurant. Anyway, the crust was perfectly crisp and the toppings were all juicy and flavorful. MDW isn't that big, this is located in concourse A, near gate A7.

I was impressed with how this team of 2 managed an extremely long line. They showed some stress but we're still friendly which you don't see as much anymore. My veggie pizza was delicious. This is not a sit down place. You order your pizza to go and find a place to eat it.

Pizza is always a good option, when your looking for airport food. Woodgrain s pizza are made fresh, and you have options of toppings at a additional price. They even offer a breakfast pizza. Unlike their restaurants outside of the airport, their salads are premade. So the option to create your own, is not available here.

Continuing my search for my favorite pizza, I came across Woodgrain! Similar to other reviewers, it's not a bad option for neopolitan for Midway, but I've definitely had better overall. I generally prefer pizzas that have more sauce and are crunchier. I ordered a veggie pizza with added hot peppers. If you like crusts that are more chewy and soft, this pizza is for you! Beware if you like to order too many toppings - they will quickly all fall off with the cheese when you go to pick up a slice. The cheese was salty - if I had to reorder, I would definitely go easy on the cheese. Super cool they've got this option to order in the airport, and if you are looking for something hot, it's one of the best/only options here!

Pretty good pizza for the airport. It's ready in leads than 10 minutes and tasty! We had the veggie pizza

Decent pizza and an above average price. My stomach is happy but my wallet is sad.

The amount I spent for 2 pizzas at this place was almost the same I paid for my first car payment. Maybe it is inflation or maybe I am old but that is my major complaint. Decent pizza. Decent sauce. Decent cheese. Crust was a little doughy and could of been crisper. I thought the guy who took our order was nice wishing us a happy Easter. Did not buy bottle of water since it costs more than a $5 gallon of gas. Sorry about that last comment but I could not help it. If your dying for pizza than go. If your not dying for pizza I wouldn't say you missing too much for a trip back to the airport.

Woodgrain is one of the best places to grab a bite in Midway. Each pizza is freshly made to order. You might think because of that, you would have to wait a while, but they cook surprisingly quick. I only waited 5 minutes or less. The sauce is savory and flavorful and the cheese is stretchy and yummy. The sausage also tastes really good. For a pizza place at the airport, I highly recommend you give it a try!

First time trying this pizza place in Midway airport. Soooo good! The pizza is so fresh & hot coming out of the oven. I was surprised how quickly my pizza was ready too. Napolean style pizza with crust that meltbin your mouth. Service is courteous and you can feel good supporting a black owned business! I'll be back for sure!!

I had a three hour layover at the Chicago midway airport, and couldn't decide what to eat. I almost got a Chicago dog, but they weren't available at the place next door. I saw someone with a pizza from this place, then I heard someone else dining nearby say, "That pizza looks really good!" I then decided to get an Italian sausage pizza, and I'm so glad I did! For airport food, it was really tasty, so much so that I wasn't even mad at the $20 price. The cashiers were friendly too, even though it was the end of the day.

How often do you get a good pizza in the airport? At Midway?!? Woodgrain delivers quality neapolitan pizza at a reasonable price. Between flights, the friendly and upbeat staff put together two fine pizzas at 8:30 working through what must feel like a never ending line of people. I had low expectations and Woodgrain blew them out of the water. For real, the pizzas were just very good. Not giving sympathy points just because this is an airport restaurant either. Lots of the reviewers were complaining about elements of the pizza which are characteristics of the style of pizza Woodgrain is serving (Neapolitan). They should take their news York style expectations to JFK. Yes, a $17 pour of red wine is robbery and the meat pizza could have used a tad bit more cheese to the edge to keep the toppings from sliding off but this place is legit. The crust has yeasty notes and they definitely did not skimp on the toppings. The Margherita had fresh basil and was delicate. Best food I've ever had at midway. Period.

    SRIRACHA BBQ CHICKEN

The sriracha bbq chicken pizza was a delightful suprise. It's not the best pizza I've ever had, but it is tasty. I probably would have walked by this place, but it smelled great and I have a several hour delay. I love the fact that it's fresh out of the oven and you can watch them prepare the pizza. Several reviews mentioned that this pizza has a thinner crust - this is true. However, I like slightly chewy thin crust pizza that's light on the sauce. It is a bit pricey, but it would be reasonable for two people that want a small lunch (airport food also costs more).

I've had deep dish pizza before, but I was not prepared for this - the real deal. Pequod's was the right choice. We ordered two pies - a half vegetable and half plain pie, and a meatball pie. This PLACE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We tried the basic deep dish pizza with pepperoni to go and it was delicious! The sauce was tasty and thick, while the burned edges gave it an added flavor unlike any pizza we have ever tried. The bread is not a "pie" crust but more a fluffy, thick bread. I do recommended you order ahead as it's a 45-50 minute process to cook the masterpiece. It was well worth wait. They have two entrances for this location. One is the pick-up and go side while the entrance closest to the street corner, is the sit-down restaurant. I did notice people waiting outside and when I walked in to see the vibe, they had a small bar area and had several high tables to sit at. The hostess was really sweet and I even bought a $1 sticker to remember our stop here. I highly recommend this location for your deep dish pizza experience!
