The staff was super friendly! The order was up very quickly. The dough is freshly hand tossed. The toppings are premium, fresh and the pizza was loaded with them. They did not disappoint! I ordered a kids size with the herb and garlic olive oil base (no marinara) with Italian beef, red onion red peppers asiago and Parmesan cheese. It was GOOD!! Continuing my search for my favorite pizza, I came across Woodgrain! Similar to other reviewers, it's not a bad option for neopolitan for Midway, but I've definitely had better overall. I generally prefer pizzas that have more sauce and are crunchier. I ordered a veggie pizza with added hot peppers. If you like crusts that are more chewy and soft, this pizza is for you! Beware if you like to order too many toppings - they will quickly all fall off with the cheese when you go to pick up a slice. The cheese was salty - if I had to reorder, I would definitely go easy on the cheese. The dough got soggy really quick (by the time I sat down)...since it had so much sauce and peppers. Ended up eating mostly the crust and some of the toppings, the rest- sad to say- was inedible for me- and I can eat rocks (vegetarian or pescatarian rocks that is.. lol- but rocks nonetheless) Thought pizza would be a safe bet in a world of bacon cheeseburgers and all kinds of junk food... For being a major, airport it's mind blowing that restaurants are at about 40% capacity (at most?..enough of that already!!!) and there are slim options to eat here BTW, baking sure comes in handy- paid $8.25 for a "full beer on a cup" (12oz beer), and received about 8oz. I am guessing that this place is new since this terminal (A) was recently renovated. I am hoping that it will get better with time because grabbing a pizza like this is one of my favorite things to do in the airport. This place felt like it was under staffed or the people weren't well trained. A word of warning: this is really not a build-your-own pizza place. You order one their "specialty" pizzas but you can add toppings to that for a price. The choices are pretty good but most people add items, it seems. Probably the downfall for this visit was that there was no one specifically tending the oven. Although the name of the establishment would imply a wood-fired oven, in reality there appeared to be gas flame shooting up from the back of the oven, with the pizzas roaring quickly by. Maybe his system works well when there is a cook, but in their current scenario the pizzas never got rotated. Consequently my pizza (and few others in front me) was burned on one side. Strangely I saw a couple of other pizzas come out under done. Honestly, I did not realize how charred my pizza was on that side (and underneath) until I went to my table and started eating. Now, I really like crusts (Love bread) but I just could eat the crust from half of the pizza. Even with that, I had to go buy some M&M's to get the taste of charcoal out of my mouth before I caught my next flight. I truly hope that this place gets better (or that I caught them with an untrained crew) as they are in a great location and lots of people coming by. Young lady came out the back room cursing and talking loud to her coworkers. They got a couple orders ahead of me wrong. Burnt 3 peoples orders. Gave another guys order away to someone else. If was very chaotic to say the least. My pizza wasn't very good at all, but at least it wasn't burnt or so I thought until I took a bite and under the crust was a bit on the crispy side. I would have taken it back, but it was closed. I was able to get a couple of bites before having to just toss it out.
