If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! From the moment we walked into Lou Malnati's, everything was outstanding. Our server, Grace, completely made the experience. She was hilarious, incredibly personable, and genuinely made us feel like we were her top priority. Her positive energy and friendly attitude turned a great meal into an unforgettable one. The food came out quickly, piping hot, and every single bite was perfectly seasoned. The Lou's Alfredo with ravioli was hands down the best I've ever had--rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. The pizza was exactly what you hope for from Lou Malnati's: perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor, and worth every bite. Don't skip the Caesar salad--it was fresh, crisp, and the perfect start to the meal. And the ravioli crisps? Wow! Crispy, cheesy, and completely addictive. We were fighting over the last one! Between the incredible food, the fast service, and Grace's amazing personality, this was one of the best dining experiences we've had in Chicago. We'll definitely be back, and we'll be asking for Grace again if we're lucky enough to get her. Highly recommend!

Not sure what we were thinking but we tried to dine in on a Friday night for 5 people. We got quoted an hour and 45 mins wait for a table. You walk in there's a tiny host stand to the right, in the middle there's a stairs leading to the dining room and take out area, and to the left there's a quick grab and go for cheese, sausage, and pepperoni. In the dining room it seemed like it was tight space but don't know we didn't walk in completely, only to the take out stand. Ended up ordering to go as it would have only taken 40 mins. Brought it across a 10 min walk back to the hotel. I'm not sure if it was because we brought it take out or what, i wasn't super impressed with the classic. It was my first bite into deep dish pizza. Don't get me wrong it was good, but not sure what the hype is. The crust was definitely thick and buttery and you could taste that. I was a bigger fan of the small Lou's pizza that we got. Felt like it had more flavors. Maybe next time I come back I'll eat it there and go in earlier.

The gluten free deep dish was exceptional and absolutely worth trying. The restaurant has a very cute, underground vibe, and they even sell merch and T shirts if you're a fan and want to support the place. I'm taking off one star for a few issues. The prices are extremely high, and $10 for a can of High Noon felt excessive. Service was a bit inconsistent as well. When I asked about ciders, my waitress seemed unsure and said they didn't have any, but there was actually a cider available. We were also accidentally charged for someone else's meal and had to have the bill corrected. Despite those hiccups, the food was excellent, and I'd definitely come back for the gluten free deep dish.

The deep dish at Lou's isn't too heavy and the crust is light and on the thinner side. The small pizza is perfect for two people to share. I had the Chicago Classic and there wasn't too much meat on the pizza. The Malnati salad was absolutely incredible and worth a visit just for it. The salad is slightly sweet, and has the perfect combination of blue cheese, crunchy bites, crisp greens, and other toppings. The personal size is huge and easily sharable between 2-3 people. The garlic bread needed more flavor, but the garlic marinara sauce it comes with was awesome. Make a reservation ahead of time as there were a lot of people waiting for a table on the weekend. They suggest calling to preorder your pizza ahead of time so the wait in-person isn't as long since the pizza takes a while to bake, but I tried calling a few times and was on hold for 25 minutes and wasn't able to get connected to anyone.

Got takeout for lunch and ordered the small Chicago Classic. I ate two pieces and that was enough. It was so good when ordered well done. Can't wait to eat the other two later.

It's been about a decade since I was in Chicago last, and I had myself a hankering for some deep dish. As I was traveling solo I took advantage of the personal size deep dish pizza, and tried the Mike's Hot Honey. I ordered for a 7:30 pickup, and got there just on time. Just on time to wait 10 more minutes it would seem. Once I finally got my personal pizza which is about the size of my hand, I high-tailed it back the quarter mile to my hotel to eat it before it got cold. It did stay warm, and I ate it without even cutting it. It definitely had some spice to it. I enjoyed the pizza, and despite what looked like a pretty small size, it was actually plenty of food. A little pricey, just over $15. While I enjoyed it for what it was, it's not as good as I remember. I'm not sure if it's because of the smaller size or if deep dish just isn't what it used to be to me.

Short wait (at about 2pm), the personal is perfect for 1 (hence the name). Great crust and The Lou has a good mix of vegetables and cheese.

Came with a friend. The famous Lou Malnati's! You really need to make a reservation or be prepared to wait an hour. Bar seats first come first serve. We did that. We got lucky. We got 2 small pizzas - one thin one deep. My friend preferred the thin crust Mike's hot honey. I preferred the deep dish classic. Great crust on each. Very much worth the hype. Obviously local chains are also very good but you gotta try Lou's!

The pizza here is amazing. Very fresh, Big, and deep dish. Lots of different options for toppings. My favorite was the pizza with a lot of different meats, including bacon, sausage and ham. They do not stamp out on the portions of protein on the pizza. It was Cool how the servers would serve us slices at tableside. Everything was so fresh. The cheese was super cheesy. I got full off of only two slices. A good paying for your book. The salads were also good. Very big portions. It was pretty loud though inside. There were lots of people. Almost all the tables were taken. Very popular place. Would love to come back when I am in town visiting again.

Our family loves deep dish pizza and when you're in Chicago you MUST try Lou Malnalti's. The pizzas are so good and I've never experienced bad service. Always friendly. The location on Michigan Avenue is a great place and close to numerous other attractions. The interior is spacious with plenty of seats, still, make reservations as this place is popular!

Second time in Chicago, but first time at a Lou Malnati's which many of my friends/colleagues have spoken about and told me that I must go here. Well I did ladies and gents. I was staying at the Sheraton less than a mile away and opted to come visit this spot as folks told me to go get a Chicago style pizza when I visit and they recommended this spot. Which is funny, because my friend who is from Chicago told me he barely goes once a year to this locatio. The location itself is very bustling and busy. The bar is at the front and there are so many spots to sit around the back. The servers are wonderful and very upbeat. Pizzawise, i was expecting something more. I got both a pepperoni and a cheese pizza with the group and it just didn't hit the spot. There was too much sauce and the dough tasted a bit stale for a lack of a better word.

First stop in Chicago, and it had to be deep dish and this spot delivered exactly what we were hoping for. There was about a 45-minute wait, but it was absolutely worth it. We ordered the small Mike's Hot Honey pizza and the Chicken Louie. The hot honey struck the perfect balance, slightly sweet with just a mild kick, without being overpowering. The Chicken Louie was rich, cheesy, and incredibly satisfying exactly what you want when indulging in cheesy pasta. Service really elevated the experience. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, checking in on us multiple times and making sure everything came out just right. Overall, a great first introduction to Chicago's deep dish scene. If it's your first time, this is definitely a solid place to start.

I thought this was the perfect deep dish. Not too deep, and perfect buttery crust. I ordered it for delivery and when it came, it was still kinda warm which is great (though I was only 1 mile away haha). Now, I made it buttercrust and added full pepperoni and full sausage pieces. That ended up being the perfect amount of stuff to add for me. The size was perfect for personal, and I was extremely satisfied afterwards. For delivery, I would highly recommend.

The most recent visit last week included 11 other family members who were "first timers" that had trusted my recommendation for the good stuff only to be disappointed by both the temperature and small amount of both cheese/sauce. We shared several large, medium and personal pies across the menu and I honestly can't say a single one measured up to the standard they have set for decades. They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in. It's both a starter and a survival tool. A reservation is non‑negotiable unless you enjoy contemplating your own mortality in a weekend crowd. The wait times can stretch so long you could starve to death before your name is called -- and the regulars will nod knowingly as they step around your skeleton. Plan ahead.
