Update from my previous review I'm sadden that although the sandwich we ordered the bacon turkey club mind you I'm aware the prices on door dash is slightly higher but this is ridiculous. This is with dash pass. The restaurant missed this order completely and didn't even give us our fries we added a combo to this sandwich which was sourdough bread and was cut in two no photo taken. Where my old photo had 4 sandwiches could be choice or bread. However to say the least paying almost $40 for a sandwich seems crazy only for them to forget our fries. We called the restaurant and they didn't resend our fries since door dash said no at least they tried. In the restaurant this is $11.99 and $4.99 for a combo of that is still not even half the price we paid how is that even fair. Will never order from here. read more

We stumbled on Louie's Market while looking for a late lunch during our drive from Sacramento to Los Angeles. It's an easy stop off the freeway, and the moment we walked in, Drew (the owner) greeted us with a warm welcome and friendly conversation. He shared that they grind their burgers fresh daily and source their bread from the local Genova bakery. We tried their popular tri-tip sandwich--an absolute no-brainer--and the turkey club on sourdough, both of which were excellent. The double-fried steak fries were also a standout--crispy and perfectly seasoned. If you're passing through or in the area, definitely give this local deli a try--and don't forget to say hi to Drew! First time coming to Louie's Market for a sit-down lunch, and I can see why it's such a local favorite. The staff were super friendly and quick to recommend their ribeye steak sandwich, so I went with the meal that comes with fries and a drink. The ribeye sandwich was massive, juicy, and packed with flavor. Easily one of the better steak sandwiches I've had in a long time!! The fries were fresh, crispy, and had just the right amount of salt to bring it all together. The place was buzzing with folks grabbing lunch whether it was firefighters, police or regulars .. which says a lot! You can tell this is one of those go-to neighborhood gems. One of the best steak sandwiches I've ever had. Simply done but done perfectly. Medium cut of ribeye, tender and perfectly cooked with good smoke and perfectly salted. Simple condiments to let the steak shine. Maybe the best onions rings too; thick, crispy, and not greasy with amply thick cut onions. My sandwich was very good. Bread could be a lil sturdier as it got a lil soggy but it happens. Bacon was cooked just right not burnt but crisp, eggs were perfect and all served hot! The hasbrowns were great served hot and crispy. Other order was pancake combo. The pancakes for me were on the dense side and a lil too much cinnamon. But they were good with fresh whipped butter. Overall our meals were very good. Will be back for more! Service was quick. The place will be closed for renovations April 14 for about a week. Looks like good changes to come. Came in for the first time and before I could even get my food I already knew I was coming back. The employees are very welcoming and felt like I've known the cashier for years and this was my first encounter with him. Everything is made fresh to order so expect a small wait. Lots of great choices on the menu; BLT, Turkey Club, Hero sandwich even the pork chops, jalapeño poppers and seasonal /special items like the ceviche are excellent. We are never disappointed. The staff is nice and friendly. There is seating inside to enjoy your food there and snacks to go alongside. The have lots of meat to buy alone, my coworker buys their bologna to enjoy at home. Came to Louie's after the reopening and sell of the place. It looks the same ! Just a hole in the wall restaurant. I ordered my usual ribeye steak sandwich meat on the side. Ordered medium cane out well done and burnt! If you would have came here in February the meat size would have been huge too big for the bread at the same price it is today. Instead you get a kids burnt over cooked steak that the bread over whelms. The fries were absolutely disgusting as you can see no air fryer can helps these. They then realized they messed up after I ordered my steak on the side so my bread doesn't get soggy so they took the same meat and threw it into a piece of foil. See the pictures below. My wife had heard from her fellow workers about Louie's Market and their amazing Rib Eye sandwich. We live in Tracy, but we happened to be in Stockton, and decided to give it a try. My wife ordered the Rib Eye sandwich and I had the Bacon Cheese Burger. Now, I am a burger guy, and I've eaten burgers all over the country, but this burger was hands down the BEST burger I've ever had. They grind their own meat and add trimmings from the Rib Eye. With fresh crisp lettuce, firm ripe tomato slices and red onion on a fresh Genova Bakery bun delivered daily, This burger puts all others to SHAME!!!! I tasted my wife's Rib Eye sandwich and it was everything we had heard and more. I also had their jalapeno poppers which were OUTSTANDING!!! This place is a MUST! I've only been here during the lunch hours but this place has been open for more than 75 years and that's probably because their food is good, fresh, and affordable. Their salads are generous serving sizes. The shrimp in the shrimp salads are big and they give quite a few! (Which I appreciate ). The Mexican chicken salad is good and light with pico de Gallo (and you can add avocado). I always get a side of fries because they're thick and lightly crispy. The jalapeño poppers are wrapped in bacon and SO good. And the twice baked potato is really good too! Creamy and topped with bacon bits. I recently tried the cheeseburger and it's a good size - almost the size of my palm but thick - lightly seasoned and the bread and toppings ratio is a good balance. read more

Louie's is probably one of the only business right now in the down town area that is nice and clean and modern customer service was on point friendly and this is a meat market. The lunch scene in downtown Stockton is depressing. So much potential, but limited options. Food quality in downtown is hit or miss (mostly misses though). Louie's is the bright spot in downtown. Mom & pop store vibes. I can't say I've had a better sandwich in the Central Valley. My go to is the tri-tip sandwich. I wouldn't change a thing from my old review back in 2016. The Ribeye steak sandwich is till my favorite. The Big Louie is my second favorite. But both are huge sandwiches. The regular burger is great. The Fries and Onion Rings are great. The hours are limited and I think just Monday to Friday. Small family run deli/butcher shop is just great in terms of food, service and quality. I just wish they were closer to my work or home. read more
