Just moved into town and was looking for a local breakfast restaurant. This little place doesn't look like much from the outside but so cute inside. If you are into trains then you need to visit. They have model trains all around the restaurant and if you're lucky you'll experience the train going around the inside perimeter. You order first then have a seat. We both had Omelettes with hash browns and toast. The portions are good size. Definitely get what you pay for. Their hash browns are crispy and so tasty but not greasy. I had a hot chocolate and it was really good. The table service was great. The staff would make sure people had their coffee filled and kept the booths and tables clean. You know it's good when the locals eat there. I look forward to going back for our next visit.

Exceptional service, we were checked on frequently and the food arrived fast. The wait staff and servers were friendly it felt like home. French toast, country potatoes, fries, and gyro were great. PJ loved the trains and it kept him entertained the entire time especially the ceiling train. We'd definitely come back when we are in the area.

Let's talk about Golden Ox for a second. I ordered through DoorDash and went with the ribs, expecting a decent meal -- and instead got an abundance of food. The portions are generous, the ribs were exactly what I was craving, and the entire order completely exceeded expectations. This is the kind of spot that delivers both quality and quantity, which is a rare win. Pleasantly surprised and very impressed.

So I really wanted to love this place and won't say I won't try it again but last night wasn't the best. This is from what I have been told a Lodi staple for decades. The inside decor and ambiance brings you back to a long ago diner feel vibe which I do like. You order at the counter and they bring you lr food to you. Service I will say was a 10 out of 10 the people working here are amazing and some of the friendliest staff I have encountered. What fell flat was the food. I had the club sandwich and my daughter had the pastrami sandwich. Both were extremely underwhelming and hers was so salty she couldn't even finish it. Plus the the fries and my onion rings had a somewhat funky flavor that maybe they needed to change the oil they were being fried in. My club was just ok nothing special and wasn't even that hot but the highlight was the what you could tell was the homemade turkey not store bought. Like I mentioned maybe an off night and will try again and the service is amazing and for sure a place that has been around for years. Plus last night it was very busy so they must be doing something right. The menu is also pretty incredible with choices galore. So for now a 3 star but we will see.

I ordered the California Benedict through the drive-thru, which was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly poached, layered with fresh avocado, and generously topped with hollandaise sauce. It was creamy, comforting, and just the right amount of indulgent. The hash browns underneath were crisp and golden, holding up beautifully under all that sauce! What really sets Golden Ox apart is the convenience, the charm, and the people. Stephanie is always very friendly and kind. She makes every visit feel welcoming and personal The drive-thru is such a thoughtful touch, which is rare for a diner. The whole setup gives off retro vibes with its railroad crossing sign and classic diner flair. Service was fast and super friendly, and everything was made fresh to order. Whether you are a Lodi local or just passing through, this place is worth the stop. Breakfast all day? Yes, please! I highly recommend it! 410 W Kettleman Ln, Lodi Open Mon to Sat 7 AM to 8 PM, Sun 7 AM to 3 PM #MoniApproved #GoldenOxDiner #LodiEats #BreakfastAllDay #CaliforniaBenedict

I know I've…read moredriven past it many times, but I guess their signage is too modest compared to the huge "IDOL BEER WORKS" on the other end of the building. I figured it was just another iteration of the original (now long gone) Squeeze Inn in Sacramento, and I was right. I don't think the various locations are franchises, but are more likely independently owned, and the quality varies from location to location. The one that used to be in West Sac, for instance, was terrible, which might explain why it's been gone for years. And the mid-town was also a resounding MEH, and also gone. There's nothing at any version of Squeeze Inn/Burger that I want more than just a basic Squeeze (or in this case, SQZ) with Cheese, though. I don't want a taco, nor a BLT, and especially not chicken strips. I want that which made the brand famous. A cheeseburger with all the traditional toppings and a cheese skirt just dripping cheese grease off it. SQZ Burger delivers the goods. The cheese skirt was just the right size, not too big, not too small. At one point in my life I would have said that there's no such thing as a cheese skirt that's too big, but a couple of years ago I had a cheese skirt that was so big that I felt sick afterward from all the cheese grease! In addition to the just right amount of cheese, the burger had lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and a healthy schmear of mayo and mustard. Damn near a perfect burger. The owner was running the register on my visit, and when she brought my food out, she asked if I wanted a side of ranch. I'm the kind of guy who would drink ranch dressing if I could, so of course I accepted. I didn't even ask - It was nice of her to offer! There's a throughline from the original Squeeze Inn on Power Inn Road to SQZ Burger, too. The father of the husband half of the H/W ownership team owned the original location. Brandon and Katie ran the Galt location for several years, and have now brought the goodness to a Lodi brick and mortar spot. I'll definitely be back.

And my strawberry shake was good also. We had about 45 people all land at the same time, and SQZ was able to quickly get us all served in short order. I do love the vibe of both SQZ & IDOL. It was a nice little drive both ways with an epic food stop in between.

It was a lot of food and I had leftovers, so I was happy with the size of the portions. The slider had a big, thick, piece of fried chicken breast on it. It was a little spicey, topped with pickles, sauce, cole slaw and served on a nice brioche bun. It was one of the better chicken sandwiches I've had in a while and very satisfying. The chicken breast on toast, was silimar and just as satisfying. The fries were hot, chispy, and lightly seasoned. I enjoyed every one as I dunked them in sauce and munched them down. The staff was nice, and prepared my food quickly. The dining room was basic, but functional, and the drinks were self-serve. I'm happy to give them 5 stars. The food was really good.

My friend has never had the deviled eggs before and pleasantly surprised and delighted that the eggs were absolutely delicious. They're very smooth, eggs were cooked perfectly and the touch of bacon was just right. It does come with a small helping of mixed greens topped with pickled onions. The pork schnitzel was crispy & crunchy due to the breaded pork loin, came with pickled onions, slaw and the chipotle aioli sauce. The sauce does have a bit of a kick to it but it wasn't too spicy, well, at least for me. My salad was very good too. It was colorful and had an interestingly tangy dressing on it. It paired well with the sandwich. One was spicy and the salad was tangy but refreshing. My friend also ordered the pork schnitzel with beef tallow fries. I tried some of her fries and they were thin but still crispy. Overall the food at West Oak Nosh was so good and delicious!
