    Pork Longanisa
    Chessa C.

If you haven't tried Danish-Filipino fusion yet, head to Nordic Bites on Pacific Ave. They've managed to bridge the gap between Scandinavia and Southeast Asia with a menu featuring everything from Smørrebrød to their version of silog-style breakfasts. We tried: * Pork Longanisa: The perfect balance of sweet and savory. * Pork Belly: Great texture with a perfectly rendered fat-to-meat ratio. Both plates come loaded with garlic fried rice and a jammy sunny-side-up egg. What sets them apart is the fresh "Nordic" side: cherry tomatoes, cucumber, pickled red onions, crispy shallots and a unique tzatziki garlic that brings it all together. The portions are generous (definitely shareable for a light brunch). The atmosphere is relaxed, quiet, and clean. Huge shoutout to the staff--they were incredibly welcoming, which always makes a meal taste better. Whether you're dining in, grabbing to-go, or looking for a unique caterer, this spot is a Stockton must-try!

I had to do some food research since we were stopping by Stockton on our way to Groveland. Every restaurant I saw bored me until I looked at the menu here. Danish food? ok, never had it but also was never interested in looking for it; but wait, filipino food too? ook, that is a pretty weird & interesting combination. I'm in! The restaurant itself is pretty cute and cozy. There's an extra room in the back that has more comfortable chairs. It was never busy the 2 times that we came and the employees there were so nice & welcoming. The lady in line behind us was so confused about the pricing (but in a good way!). Not saying it was super cheap, but definitely lower than expected for what you're getting and in this economy. As for the food... DELICIOUS! My favorites were the filipino dishes (longanisa and beef bistek) which were served all fancy-like. The crispy shallots in the fried rice was *chef's kiss. My family also really enjoyed the roast beef brioche sandwich and the potato/bacon appetizer. Their specialty drinks are also tasty (recommend the ube chai and dubai chai pistachio). Loved this place so much that we had to come back on our way home from our trip. Definitely recommend!

I've been wanting to try Nordic Bites for so long and it did not disappoint. The service was great--friendly and attentive. The dishes I tried were overall simple, but presented beautifully and made with super fresh and quality ingredients. I ordered the smoked salmon open-face sandwich, which was very fresh and tasty. I wasn't a huge fan of the dark brown bread personally, but that's more of a preference than a flaw. I also got the avocado, egg, and bacon croffle. The croffle itself was soft, warm, and perfectly chewy, and they were very generous with the avocado, which I really appreciated. The ube chai was delicious, though a bit on the sweeter side for my taste. Overall, solid spot with great food and service. I'd definitely come back and am excited to try their Filipino dishes next time.

The reviews and pictures made the place look good but I was not impressed one bit. I was well aware it was danish- filipino fusion. Personally I don't taste any Filipino in these dishes. I am Filipino and had many authentic Filipino food all my life. While we were waiting on our food the table right next to us just got their food and did not look happy. This older lady said in tagalog walang lasa which means like no flavor/ taste. So I was alr worried about my food. I got the bistek and my boyfriend got the pork belly. When they both came out it just looked like a pile of salad. Both dishes came with garlic rice. It had no actual garlic bits inside just garlic like flakes. My bistek was dry and the meat tasted sweet kinda like a Korean bbq style. The pork belly was also sweet.

This place has a lot going on with the menu. There are a lot of food options to include deserts and drinks. The food was very delicious but its a bit messy trying to eat that open face sandwich. Not a bad thing, just something to note. I really enjoyed their twist on Nordic recipes, it was different and pleasant all at once.

Wanted to give it a try after seeing the stuff trending on social media. Everything I tried was amazing. Ordered a variety of filipino breakfast. All came with Garlic Fried Rice with an Over Easy/Medium Fried Egg. Bistek, Longanisa, Tocino, and Pork Belly. Their Bistek, Tocino and Pork Belly were all so good (I didn't try the Longanisa... but my friend said it was delicious. Oooooohhh and the desserts. Got to try the Ube cake balls, Dubai Chocolate cake (my friend tried the Dubai Chocolate Donut and said it was awesome) and took a little bite of the Mango Crème Cake, and ordered the Ube Cake Roll. We will definitely have to go and dine in next time Food did not disappoint

A spot we weren't even looking for happen to notice it and decided to stop by in to check it out. Really cute decor The Who vibe in here was so relaxing and pretty. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and offered help with the menu. Off the bat my husband order the Wagyu Hotdog and I ordered the pull pork sandwich and OMG it was so frikn good I should have gotten two lol. Wow the flavors were endless with every bite it was so good never had one but definitely ordering more and trying some more items on the menu for sure. This spot is tucked in a small parking area plenty of parking and service was great didn't have to wait for long very friendly staff we coming back for sure

Recently visited since this was the new spot in town. I ordered their cantaloupe matcha, pork belly sandwich, and their halo halo. I really liked their sandwich and their matcha. Their halo halo was huge, good but a bit hard to eat. Definitely try this place out!

My absolute fave spot for brunch and their food presentation is everything! I HIGHLY recommend this small business! Their sisig, bistek and galbi platters are a MUST try!

The service is excellent, so far, the food is overall pretty good, but could make adjustments like saying corned beef hash instead of corned beef, or make it corned beef, which is what I was expecting. Also, the spam UFO would be better if the spam was fried first. The smashed potatoes and lechon are good and the Filipino breakfast with Longanisa is pretty good as well. My favorite coffee is a decaf iced Nordic cardamom with oat milk and orange zest! A flavor all their own and unique to only this place! I love it! I also enjoyed the Dubai donut. I am definitely going to be back to try more items! It's cute and cozy inside and they are really friendly. Please support them! There is no other place around like this place!

Upon walking in I really enjoyed the calm vibe. The music, decor, and water fountain give a comforting atmosphere. I walked up the counter and I told the employee it was my first time there. She was very welcoming and gave me a brief introduction to the restaurant, the owner, and their menu. She was super knowledgeable on the menu and made some recommendations. I ordered the Filipino breakfast, which I was told it a newer addition to their menu. I also ordered an Ube chai. The Chai, delicious! If you're a Ube fan it's a must try. They also have Ube desserts, which I need to try next time. I was impressed with the presentation of my food. The bowl was a perfect combination of flavors. The pork and rice were perfectly salty, the pickled veggies were tangy and crunchy, the egg was perfectly cooked, it all came together so well. They have so many menu options and I can't wait to go back and try more. I wish this business much success!

This is an amazing little restaurant! It was a totally chance stop during the week when we were just looking for somewhere to have lunch; I'm so glad we decided to try something new because we've been back three times just since the first day we went lol. My husband, daughter and mother have gotten something different each time a; there breakfast UFOs are absolutely fantastic and their sandwiches on the brioche buns are amazing but my absolute favorite are the Christine's... They have a special for three for 15 and I will eat those as an entire meal. The salmon ones are so so good. Not a single complaint from me lol except for the fact that I could eat three more ha ha. The service staff is absolutely amazing and so attentive. They know all about the shop and restaurant itself as well as the owner and chef who created it and are more than happy to share the story, which is really interesting. We did meet her the last time we were there. She makes everything and has a true gift. It's the perfect marriage of flavors and even though it's not a huge menu absolutely everything is so yummy. It's located downtown on the miracle Mile and the way the shop is decorated is absolutely adorable. It's a really welcoming environment, very comfortable and cute at the same time. I give these guys tremendous kudos for trying something different and sticking with it because they bring not only unique flavors but a unique environment and a lot of love to a diverse population. We will be back on a regular basis! Thank you so much again!

I swear it was some of the best Alfredo sauce I've had. I'm not expert by any means but in my opinion this Alfredo sauce was top tier. Garlicky just salty enough, thick and packed with flavor. Pretty upscale market with a nice deli and bakery for this area. I'd say real close to Whole Foods…read morequality and the prices match. But this local indy store has been around in this town for over 55 years, so it is well deserved for them to be a local fave. I only got a sandwich for the road and a bakery item, so no significant grocery shopping. I was traveling back home and didn't have a cooler so I refrained. But next time if I have a cooler, their meat counter will get exercised. Got a Salami Sandwich ($11/4*) from their deli and it was pretty solid. Every sandwich is customized, so every customer fills out a card, checks off your preferences and hand it over to a deli clerk. Nothing out of the ordinary here, just your basic sandwich stuff, but with quality and fresh ingredients. I liked everything in my sandwich, was even to put alfalfa sprouts in it, as I haven't had that option in over a decade. I wished there would have been an option to add oil n vinegar to make it more 'Italian' tasting, so I had to settle on just mayo and mustard, which is more classic American tasting to me. Still a solid sandwich that I was able to eat in 2 intervals so a decent value in my book. Coffee Crunch Cake ($7/3.5*) Very impressive tall cake with a very moist crumb. A little too industrial tasting for me but better than other grocery cakes like Safeway, which taste like plastic to me, so many additives and stabilizers. Cake part had a light chocolate taste, but maybe it was supposed to be more coffee-like? I couldn't taste any coffee except for this super hard and sweet candy on top used for garnish. Indeed that candy offered a 'crunch' element but in a very cloying and awkward way. Sure it was nice and glossy and even resembled shiny coarse stone like obsidian. But to take a bite that big of hard candy to go along a delicate cake was just too extreme for me. I think if that candy were in smaller chunks, more like a crumb texture, it would disperse more sending coffee flavor more evenly and not risk breaking a tooth on that hard sweet candy. I had higher hopes for this. Gawked at their butchers counter and it was pretty darn impressive, Pretty high quality stuff but also insanely expensive. Steaks start at $20 per pound and easily rises double to triple from there. But they got some serious cut steaks here, like 2-3 inch thick cuts and they even have a couple versions of wagyu steaks. Nothing is prewrapped, everything has to go through a clerk. Produce section just meh and regular. Well kept but Safeway may have a more extensive produce section. Dry goods definitely Whole Foods level. They seem to have a guy out front bbqing meats like sausages and tri-tip, like 7 days a week, which is impressive. I got there around 11 am and the employee was just setting up. Otherwise I may have tried something. Cool store, that if this were in my town, I'd be a reg. Since I was just a passing traveler, just call me impressed.

It has taken me some time, but I think I'm able to tell what items are made here at the store compared to items prepared elsewhere and sold here. The items that they have brought in are very good quality and taste great, I just prefer to have items that are made in-house, it satisfies my taste buds. Today I purchased "Podesto's Own" cookies. These are cookies they make in house. Today the flavours I purchased was lemon, malted white chocolate and a peppermint shortbread cookie. The price is $19.99/pound for these cookies and I bought roughly 4 to 6 of each of those flavours I mentioned, so I spent $11.51 total, but like I said, I get to indulge when I come to this store and it's no surprise to me when I get to the register. Some times I even surprise myself because I over estimate the prices which makes me happy to feel like I saved a little Today I also purchased three different kinds of cheeses that I was able to find in very small sizes. Literally, I think I paid $1.76 for the smallest one and I paid $3.12 for the bigger one. These are name brands that are expensive. (For my price range anyways) However these are cheeses that I would like to know what they taste like but I don't want to buy the full amount because what if I don't like it, they're too expensive for me to buy and then have to throw away so I'm excited to try the cheeses that I bought today. The last thing that I bought today was a green onion dip mix that I can only find at this store. I used to be able to find it at another store that is close by but for some reason, they stopped selling the green onion flavour and only sell the French onion, which I haven't even tried. I just know that the green onion is amazing and it doesn't matter what brand I try nothing compares to this one so I come to Podesto's to get this dip because thankfully they have carried it for years. It was really busy today, especially in the bakery and deli area, however, the people working today in that area were very friendly and tried to get to everyone as soon as possible. Once I got to the cashier everything went smooth. The long lines were gone and I got out of there without spending more than $40 today which is great. Oh, I forgot about something. I came across a fruit preserve that I did not think would be available at any store because I've only been able to find this online but it tastes amazing and it's low in sugar, which is what I'm always looking for as well. (Let's pretend like I didn't buy all those cookies today please...) Anyways, it's Fior di frutta, wild blueberries. I'm very excited for this. Now I know where to purchase this. I hope you have a successful shopping trip as I have today at Podesto's. There's so much to stumble upon and excite your taste buds!
