I had the chicken fried steak breakfast skillet, which was excellent and a pretty large portion. Sourdough bread was perfect. Coffee was good too. My son had the tamale breakfast, smothered in green chili sauce, and it disappeared in lightning time. You know a place is good when it's packed, I definitely recommend this place for brunch. Found this gem on yelp. They're offering a free muffin with check in at the location currently through yelp. Staff is friendly and efficient. I got the Mexican bowl which includes chorizo, onion, green peppers, green chile salsa, cheese with two eggs over easy. It was flawless and huge.I couldn't finish it. Update. Went back today for breakfast. Date had the biscuits & gravy breakfast platter. Which he loved. I had their French toast with eggs over medium and bacon. Great option. Extremely reasonably priced. Good food, great prices, great service. We needed a place that could handle 15 of us on Memorial day w/ little notice. I messaged Louis Sunday evening the week before. He wrote me back in 30 minutes. Told me they would be open and my group would be welcome. We showed up a little after 11:00, sat on the patio and asked for seperate checks. Tickets were handled on their tablets. Service was fast. Wanted breakfast and hit the gold mine. I love the endless options. Food was bountiful! Each entree comes with your choice of two eggs, two pancakes/toast, and hash browns. I opted for the gyro skillet, two eggs over easy, hash browns served on the side, and pita bread instead of the pancakes or toast option. Really really great service, prices and value! Stopped in from the East Coast! Cant stress enough in the quality of their food (obviously breakfast food isn't too difficult to make but everything was spot on). Even the table next to us. Who had ordered massive burritos seemed to really enjoy their meal. Location was kind of odd as I felt this place was located in a small office park - they would do great with a slightly better storefront but nonetheless not bad nor off the beaten path. Louis' Cafe has much in common with other cafes/diners. It serves just breakfast and lunch but both all day, has an expansive menu with emphasis on American and Mexican food (stronger emphasis on Mexican than some of its "cousins") with skillets, omelets, hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, melts, salads and "entrees" like fried chicken, pork chops and chicken fried steak, and the food is diner food good. I can't speak for the quality, but they also serve espresso drinks and smoothies. Our service has always been pleasant and attentive, and almost everything is under $10. Where Louis' Cafe deviates from the competition is in the location and facility. The location is somewhat obscure, on Johnson Road just down the hill from the Jefferson County Taj Mahal complex. It is housed on the first floor of a medium sized office building with no other retail businesses in the immediate surround. Whereas the "ambiance" at many other diners is somewhere between quaint, tired and seedy, Louis' Cafe is simple but bright, clean and fairly new. Louis' Cafe isn't going to motivate you to drive a great distance just to eat there - very few diners will do that. But, when you're in Golden and looking for an inexpensive breakfast, brunch, or lunch option with straightforward good food, served by nice people in a fresh and pleasant environment, Louis' Cafe will fit the bill quite nicely. read more

It's a small thing, but it's the difference between four and five stars. I ordered the Mexican skillet, and it was tasty and satisfying, but I asked for my eggs over medium and they were cooked PERFECTLY. That's a small thing but it's a big deal to me. I've had many breakfasts where my eggs had runny whites or firm yolks. Eggy perfection gets an extra star. The meal itself was served on the still-hot skillet, which allowed the potatoes, onions, and peppers on the bottom layer to develop a luscious crust. The chorizo was flavorful and the jalapeños were fresh instead of pickled, which is always welcome. Hint: if you check in on Yelp, you get a free muffin. First visit, breakfast: eggs, hashbrowns, toast, breakfast burrito were tasty and well-prepared. The green chile is moderately spicy and respectable (that is a high compliment, by-the-way). I hesitated to order the corned-beef hash... as it is disappointing in most diners. However,it was the best I've ever had (though not house-made). Second time consumer. I'm not impressed with this place. The reviews always fool me. Perhaps it's because of the breakfast menu; I've ordered from the lunch side. Melts were soggy. Flavorful filling, but liquidy and messy. The fries - both times - were tepid and stale in taste and texture (limp). This time, I ordered a side of rice. I returned it after 2 bites. The grains were extremely hard; not tolerable. I'm not sure if I got the scrapings from the bottom of the container, but thoroughly unacceptable. Tea... How can one get tea wrong? I was given tepid water and a tea bag. Service is decent and the place is clean. That's why 2/5 stars. Food deserves 1/5. I'm reminded why it's been over a year that I went back. I won't be back. We come here A LOT! The service is great and fast. The food is delicious. Plenty of parking. It's located in a commercial building on the main level. We learned of this place since our ENT doctor is located in the same building. Maricella is always our server. She's the BEST. She knows my husband's breakfast burrito; always remembers it. Ask for their homemade hot sauce. Holy moly so spicy but so yummy. We moved here from San Diego so our burrito standards are high, this place makes it good. Prices are awesome. My kids love this place. The staff was friendly and fast. Food is priced better than other breakfast places and my husband says it tastes better. My kids enjoyed the Mickey Mouse pancakes and as my daughter says it actually looks like Mickey Mouse. My son loves the wall waterfall. I had the Rellanos dish and my husband had the skillet. Delicious. We left a pencil at the restaurant and they ran out to give it to us. Now that is service. We will be back. This is my second time here and second time Yelping about it. Newish breakfast/ lunch joint by the JeffCo courts, (Taj Mahal). I don't think many people know about it. Nothing fancy or cool, just awesome eats! Great food, great price. Mrs had an 8oz rib eye steak and eggs for $10. Both our meals combined was around $26. Arrived and sat ourselves at 10. One waitress came over within a couple minutes and gave us menus and asked us what we wanted to drink. We both told her that we wanted coffee, she left and never came back. Almost 15 minutes later, and watching waitresses walk around refilling everyone else's coffee, we finally had a waitress come over and ask us if we wanted a refill. She looked in our cup and was surprised that there was nothing in it and gave us coffee. Mind you, we still hadn't ordered yet because our waitress never came back. A waitress finally came over to take our order and when I told her how long we had been sitting she basically just brushed It off. She took our order, didn't ask if we wanted a refill on the coffee or water or anything. We finally received our breakfast at 10:30, while other people had come in after us and were already in the middle of their breakfast. As far as the food is concerned, it's actually pretty good, but because of the absolutely horrible service we will not come back here. This wasn't our first time here and the service has always been mediocre at best, but this was just horrible. As we were walking out we noticed our waitress was texting on her cell phone. So disappointed we went there this morning and waited and waited and waited for some one to acknowledge us on the patio. Finally my husband went in and someone came out to get our drink order. Then we waited another 10 minutes for someone to come get our food order. At that point we put some money on the table for coffee and left. We were there for a half hour and NEVER saw our server. Wow. Had business at the nearby JeffCo court, and came here for breakfast. My Mexican skillet absolutely rocked: chorizo, chile verde with nice flavor & heat, excellent fried potatoes and eggs. I got tortillas, but you can go for toast or pancakes even. Companions got a Denver omelette (very good) with hash browns & toast, and fresh fruit and a quite tasty muffin (cranberry orange). Service was pretty wonderful, prices good. Ambience is good for an office building. Only weak spot if the decidedly non-gourmet coffee. I thought it was drinkable, but I was in the Navy, where they know how to make it weak yet bitter. Did not check out lunch offerings, but expect those to satisfy as well. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!!! The staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful. The menu had so many delicious options I wish I had two stomachs so I could have eaten more. I ordered the Pregnant Burrito and it is Chile rellenos with Beans and rice smothered in green Chile. OMG the Rellenos were perfect, crispy and not to hot but just right, the Chile was flavorful and not to hot. The flavor was right on point. I had to order the Menudo, I love it and it has been awhile since I have had it. Oh boy I was glad I did, it was perfect. The servings are huge, I ate my happy heart out and loved every bit. Ordered breakfast burritos and coffee to go one morning on our way into the mountains. Our favorite burrito place in golden wasn't open so we tried this one. We'd never heard of this place so wasn't sure what to expect. It's in an odd location, but the place was packed. Food and coffee were ok but nothing exceptional. Staff was ok, not rude but not really friendly either. We'll have to stop in again for a sit down meal at some point but I think I'll keep going to Bonfire for my burritos. read more

This place was okay. Prices were decent but the portions were pretty small. Food taste was decent. Customer service was horrible. Our waitress kept rushing us to order when we barely sat down. She also was smoking right in front of us and the smoke was right in our face and drinks. It took her 20 minutes to bring us the check. The menu is extensive and the prices are excellent!! They have options for everyone. My kids went in wanting burgers and ended up ordering the kids Mickey pancakes instead. It came with choice of meat and egg cooked to order. The scrambled eggs were a bit odd. They were scrambled, but cooked more like an omelet. My son did not like the sausage at all. I enjoyed the combo burrito, which was huge and came with lettuce, tomato, beans and rice on the side. The beef was full of flavor. This was a great find after hiking in the Red Rocks area. We were there for breakfast and it was fantastic. HUGE portions of southwest/mexican- influenced and traditional breakfast options. We had the breakfast burrito and the Mexican breakfast skillet and both were excellent- flavorful with just enough heat. Can't say enough about the value, especially given the portion size. Location is less than interesting but they have some outdoor seating. Only knock is that service was a bit slow, but outside of that, excellent place for breakfast/brunch. read more
