I had a really disappointing and frustrating experience with Louis Doors, and I feel compelled to share it. I had a 12:00 PM appointment scheduled, but due to an unexpected emergency, I had to cancel. Out of respect for their time, I called at 11:00 AM -- a full hour in advance -- and tried multiple times to let them know I couldn't keep the appointment. Despite my efforts to cancel and avoid wasting anyone's time, no one answered or returned my calls. To make matters worse, at 12:20 PM I received a call from them saying that a technician was at my house. When I explained that I had called several times to cancel, the woman on the phone was extremely rude. Instead of listening or showing any understanding, she cut me off, spoke to me in a very condescending tone, and then hung up on me mid-sentence -- right as I was asking about their next available appointment. There was absolutely no professionalism, no courtesy, and no attempt to work with me despite me doing my best to communicate in advance. With customer service like this, I won't be contacting Louis Doors again. I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you want to be treated with basic respect. read more

We also had the overhead spring break on our garage and couldn't open the door. We had service from Louis in the past and decided to call them for repeat service as they took care of us last time. When they quoted us the price to fix, that was almost 50% above the average price to replace, we asked to lower the quoted amount and after several tries they indicated they could not offer any lower. After calling 2-3 other garage door repair specialist, they quoted us 40% lower than the price offered by Louis which was amazing. We did not mentioned the previous quotes we had, and after several calls they all quoted us 30 to 40% lower than what Louis offered. After telling Louis if they can match or at less lower their original quote they did not care the lady on the phone and still wanted to charge almost 40-50% more than what others are willing to do. Had a problem with a garage door hinge. A single shoulder bolt was sheared off. Every garage company competitor I contacted recommended replacing both hinges rather than replacing the damaged bolt. Cami from Louis Doors was fantastic. The overhead spring on my garage door broke late on a Sunday afternoon. When I came home I started to panic and I wasn't sure what I was going to do to get the door fixed. The only way that I get to work which is my motorcycle was stuck in the garage and I was unable to go to work the following day. My door was previously installed by Louis garage doors and I tried calling tried calling them but got an answering machine since were closed on Sunday. I waited till Monday morning and called them again. The person who answered the phone was very friendly and the driver had a very quick response (he was here within two hours). Had the garage door replaced for the condo I rent from a family member. Really, the motor could have been replaced and we would have been good to go but noticeable damage on the door made sense to replace it while we were having work done. Our garage door wall button recently went bad, so we called Louis Doors in Walnut for service and Cami in the office set up an appointment within a couple of days. The technician, Gabriel came out within the time promised and found that the replacement buttons available he tried using were not compatible with the opener which is about 13 years old, possibly due to the opener's computer board. We then ordered a new Liftmaster opener (including wall button with several new features, LED light, two remotes, dead bolt lock, and safety sensors) which Gabriel installed two days later again within the time promised. Before leaving, Gabriel took the time to lubricate the door springs and rollers and showed me the features of the wall button as well as guiding me through the steps to pair my ours vehicles' Homelink system. Had problem with my garage door not able to close. I called genie 800 number to troubleshoot and they told me to order a sequencer board and gave me names of 2 genie approved garage door centers in the area. I called Superior in Covina and they quoted twice the price that Louis doors wanted. Cam from Louis also informed me that my problem sounded more like a sensor issue rather than the sequensor board. I set up an appointment and 24 hrs later a tech named Gabriel was at my home. He was courteous and able to diagnose the problem in 5 mins. It was indeed a short in the sensor wires. Fifteen minutes later and $89 total for service visit and problem solved. Highly recommend and will use them again read more

Railing was out of alignment and had been for years because another company said the whole thing had to be replaced. Louis's man put it perfectly into alignment and replaced the sheared door bracket in a few minutes! Seeing this, I asked how much a weather stripping replacement would be - beautiful job with no extra labor charge and bargain materials... I mentioned that the wall switch had not worked in years - he rewired and fixed that. All of this with lubrication with a 1-hour labor charge, I would have been happy to pay the entire total bill just to get the rail problem fixed. Had them come out to look at a door that sometimes do not close. They came out and couldn't really find anything wrong. So they just lubricated the joints and tighten the bolts. They wanted $90 just for 10 minutes of work. Tried to negotiate a lower price noting that I have several properties in the area and would be using them on a regular basis. Other garage repairers charge around $50-60 for their service calls in the area. They would not budge. Guess they don't really need future businesses. Go with them if you don't mind paying pricey services. read more

LOVE these guys. These folks made four large (custom) garage doors for me (my 1913 home) in Altadena almost 20 years ago. To this day these doors remain PERFECT - I've never had one problem. Last year I asked Louis Doors to come out once again just to check that the remote/machine/ensure all was well (after all, it had been 19 years). All was well.
