I always looked at the yelp but we ended up somewhere else but today we went and the Food was real tasty, good it's a must try

We ordered sandwiches to go and it only took 15 min wait. The place was full of patrons enjoying their breakfasts/brunch on a hot Saturday morning so we opted to get to-go. Staff is friendly and efficient ( as most family owned operations are!) We got pastrami sandwich and a club sandwich each with a choice of sides and the Cole slaw was perfect for summer! The pastrami was high quality not so fatty beef served on toasted rye I think- hubs devoured it! My club sandwich was very delicious -enough for my lunch and dinner! Hi guys, another one of go to places when we're in town. This place is really special. You can't sleep in, they're only open 7-2 daily. The food is amazing and you can't go wrong ordering anything. Just a perfect breakfast at Louise's Pantry. I had the Original Joes Scramble and it was on par or better than the one I ate at the Original Joes in San Francisco. Excellent to outstanding. I happened to be driving through during a driving weekend at the thermal club, looked up breakfast places on Apple Maps, and here I found myself. I was seated immediately at the counter where I met some charming people to chat with, not to mention top-notch waitstaff. The breakfast was very good. Ranks right up there with the best. I had the hash Eggs Benedict and a side pancake and it becomes immediately obvious to any diner that there are some very talented folks in the back. Also: the pricing was very decent, not much more- if at all- what one might pay in any Houston or Dallas breakfast spot. Although we walked in and there was plenty of seating available, you could tell this place can get pretty busy (many chairs outside if there is a wait), and understandably so. This was a step up from a hole-in-the-wall diner (and I love hole-in-the-wall diners!) with a great assortment of breakfast offerings. We ordered the French Toast and Chorizo Con Huevos. At some places, the French Toast could be undercooked and mushy in the middle, but here is was cooked perfectly. And the Chorizo Con Huevos was very tasty. My only negative comment is that Yelp has the wrong menu and prices (showing prices almost half of what they actually are). Go to Louise's website for the correct item pricing. I don't know who is responsible for this, but it could be a disappointment expecting the lower prices shown on Yelp. read more

There are plenty of other reviews here that confirm our experience of her low-class attitude. ("Am I supposed to be gentle?", she asked me as we walked out.) I used to love sitting at the snack bar early in the morning and eavesdropping on the staff on their evening before. Although we've experienced a lot of change in how and where we can eat, one thing that has not changed are the super huge portions, the consistent service, quality, and satisfaction after meeting for breakfast at Louise's Pantry. Like everyone else they had to create outside seating and adjusted to all COVID-19 requirements. Always busy, so be sure you arrive before they close in the afternoon. Love the coffee, strawberry jam, corned beef hash, salads and sandwiches, and the sides you just happen to be craving in the moment. The staff here always makes you feel welcome. The $20+ Rueben sandwich was awful! We were a group of 7, 2 of us got the Rueben, we both felt the same way, TERRIBLE! The meat was cut about 3 - 4 inches think, so tough couldn't even bite into it! It was my it's been my favorite breakfast restaurant went for lunch today kind of disappointed the corn beef and the Reuben was so tough. I couldn't eat it. It turned out that we had the general manager as our server. He was super upbeat and running around like crazy making sure everyone was as happy as they could be. The problem? It was pretty darn hot inside! He explained that they are having air conditioning issues, so much so that they were closing early. The food was good and filling. It is basic diner food, but definitely one of the better spots that we've tried in the Palm Desert/La Quinta area. We'll recommend Louise's, but only when the weather is cooler. read more

We saw all the positive reviews and decided to give this place a try. We ordered Eggs Benedict, country fried steak, cinnamon raisin toast with butter, and huevos rancheros. Eggs Benedict: The eggs were perfectly cooked and paired great with the hollandaise sauce. The country potatoes were soft, but nothing to rave about. Overall, this dish was a 4.5/5. Country fried steak with hash browns: The flavor of the steak was good, however when we got it home, it was soggy. We ordered hashbrowns and medium-done eggs. The eggs were more like over-easy, and the hashbrowns had good browning, but it wasn't crispy anymore when we ate it. Overall 4.5/5. Huevos rancheros: It wasn't the best version of this dish i've had before, but it was decent. They gave some flour tortilla with the dish, and they were soft. The eggs were scrambled and beans were mashed and soft. I would rate this dish 4/5 because my rice was a bit overcooked and hard. Overall, we had a pleasant brunch, but I think everything would've tasted better in person, instead of ordering it to-go. Louisa's does get pretty crowded on a Sunday morning. Usually, we'll grab seats at the bar, but we quickly found out the bar is not open seating. No problem we'll wait for a table. I added our names and we waited outside. Our names were called much sooner than expected. The establishment reminds me of a diner and I've missed them so much! Our server was friendly and made recommendations. Coffee was brought quickly...it wasn't the best coffee but it was decent. I loved this place! Everyone here was so welcoming and friendly. It felt like I was going into my grandma's kitchen! The diner is very clean, and the staff is immediately cleaning tables to make room for waiting guests. The structure of their staff was impressive. We visited this little breakfast spot on a weekday morning. Nothing fancy, but solid. The hostess and server were very sweet and even asked if I wanted a to go cup of coffee after we'd finished breakfast and paid the bill. I personally appreciate that they had both CNN and Fox News on the TV as I see them on opposite ends of the political spectrum and IMO the truth lies somewhere in the middle. We attempted to visit again the following weekend but there were about 15 people waiting outside and I didn't still around b/c the wifey and daughters were already getting "hangry" but I think the crowd speaks to many people liking the place. read more

Not a diner like I was expecting but it definitely has a home feel to it once you get inside. The staff is really good and friendly as I was greeted and seated right away.
